22.01.2022 fishing this week along the Southeast coast AU has been patchy but some people that put a little effort in and with there local knowledge hooked into some nice ...size eating reads around the 50cm mark from boat and land base, not many fish taken in the deeper water for it was hard to get down to the them with the wind and water going in different directions, down at Merimbula way Hayden and Craig did ok and the Catch Fishing double trouble did the job and it looks like it is becoming one of the better lures on reds consistently, Jem Abbott (https://www.facebook.com/jem.abbott) fishing deeper today (70M) out of Batemans bay but the only size lure that could get down to the fish was 150g plus, Jem again using his favorite lure The Boss from catch in orange, Jem also during the week went land based and had a cracker fishing sessions also have a look at the size of the squid he caught, that snapper in the pool with the squid is just over the 40cm so it gives you an idea of its size, Jem also got some really nice big reds from the rocks this day too,,,,, Travis Hodges (https://www.instagram.com/travfishing/) about 5 days ago fishing out of Ulladalla got a couple nice reds on softbait also a rare catch for this part of the ocean he said Heres something a little different for the South Coast. This fella was Hooked in 15m off Ulladulla. Had to do a little digging but turns out to be a Red bigeye (Priacanthus macracanthus)",,,,,,,,, also Talked to William Davis yesterday who stopped in his boat out the back of my place for a chat, he said it was hard fishing up North from Batemans Bay out deeper so him and his mother stayed in closer and picked up a great feed of reeffies, John Imre also fishing out of the Bay he said that this time last week he found some great size flathead in water around the 20M mark but they all were sitting in narrow channel type areas not out on the open gravel or sand flats,,,,,,,,,, Jack Chapman im thinking was fishing out of Batemans bay all he said was "morning haul" and sent a few pictures which one of them is the one with the flathead on the boat floor,,,,,,, See more
