23.01.2022 #SAKT - Supporting Aussie Kids too - Year 9-12 legal studies and remote digital media incubator We are very excited students from Southern Cross Catholic Vocational College will be participating in Term 3 & 4 remote digital media work experience and assist CPD for Me, online learning for busy lawyers & accountants and CPD-Live Webinars.

22.01.2022 We are honoured and grateful to welcome Ian Dachs, a former vice principal of 18+ years at Proserpine State School who is choosing to volunteer his valuable time to further develop #SAKT y9-12 legal studies and MidCoast Digital incubator. We have been supporting Aussie kids today and developing #SAKT since 2017. With 5 schools participating we have already assisted multiple youth over the years in learning valuable skills while exploring digital careers. Ian will be visiting ...local and participating NSW schools in term 1 to secure their ongoing support, seek new participants and applying for government grants to assist us in this worthy cause. Ian believes this is a worthwhile incubator which will support Australian students to gain priceless 21 century skills through real work experience, with real clients and in a supportive environment designed so kids learn and do, one task at a time. Students and employees may choose to continue the working relationship in a scaffolded environment that has the potential for retaining and expanding real digital jobs for our youth. This incubator is worthy of government funding and commitment by our local students, schools, career advisors and legal industry, which the digital services are specifically tailored. A bit of info about Ian. In 1984 he lived a wonderful year in Japan as a rotary exchange student. He then spent 3 years at university studying a triple degree, including studies in Japanese, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology. Followed by a Diploma in Education. He began teaching on the 8/8/88, originally in Bankstown Boys High School, then Canley Vale High School. He then spent 1.5 years teaching ESL in Japan. Upon return to Australia, he moved to QLD where he taught Japanese. In 2020, was promoted to Head of Department. In 2003, he began a Vice Principal position at Proserpine State High School, where he served for 18 years. He successfully lead many initiatives, especially transitioning students from one stage of their life to the next, as student well-being was and continues to be paramount for him. Free won’t last forever and am so thankful to Ian for his expertise and time over the next few months to further develop #SAKT incubator. Ian’s enthusiasm and lifelong dedication to assisting our youth, our future is an absolute Godsend.
