25.01.2022 Dr Murray swapped his scalpel blade for the endoscope today to help the very gorgeous Groodle puppy, Storm. She had not been well with some vomiting and diarrhoea. Whilst we resolved the diarrhoea the vomiting continued. Given she was a pup, we were worried about Storm eating something she should not - so it was time for an X-ray. Fortunately Storm ate something that showed up on an X-ray - makes our job so much easier! ... Though Dr Murray is an exceptional surgeon - we knew the best approach for Storm was with the endoscope. This is where we put a scope with a camera & special grabbers down Storm’s mouth to her stomach to pull out the object. This was such a great outcome for Storm - minimal down time, no surgical incision & back to the beach and the park before the weekend. And no dreaded Elizabethan collar! Storm was very grateful to the team who cared for her - nurse Steph L, Sophie and Dr Murray. So any ideas what Storm ate?

13.01.2022 Great news! Little Frankie is home safe and sound She came to see Dr Anna for her Heartworm injection but had other things on her mind.... When her owner approach our clinic she slipped her collar and then decided to run home Fortunately she lives close to the clinic and a very smart dog so knew exactly where home was - and kept away from the cars! Pet safety is paramount to us - so next time Frankie will be wearing her harness

10.01.2022 We are in the process of reviewing our COVID policy as restrictions have eased in Melbourne. We still have distancing restrictions that we need to take into account. We had to adjust our processes as we went into lockdown and this made us less time efficient. We are now seeing patients that were due for their vaccinations in lockdown & and with the addition of sick patients our schedule fills rapidly. ... Please bear with us as we manage the demands for our time. Puppy preschool will resume after Cup day. He is a gorgeous post found on FB

04.01.2022 Cutest puppy ever! Little Pepper arrived for his first visit to see Dr Anna nicely secured in his basket on his mum’s bicycle! This is how his family had started his socialisation, given he had not had his second vaccination. ... After his health check & vaccination he was back in his basket and munching on a tasty roo kerky! Way to go

03.01.2022 Well... we thought that the object looked like a necklace but an object that size / shape should be able to pass - unless it was caught up in something else. We were very surprised to find that it was a pipe cleaner straight from the kid’s craft box! It was all scrunched up - and because not what we expected we took an X-ray to ensure it was indeed the culprit ... The post procedure X-ray confirmed a successful procedure! Though the pipe cleaner was scrunched it was too big to pass through the stomach but managed to cause considerable irritation to the stomach wall, which will settle over the next week. We are so very happy for Storm!

02.01.2022 Extracting the foreign object from Storm
