25.01.2022 Congratulations to Lodge Vaucluse on becoming the 4th lodge in District 22 to come out of darkness. Also to Bros Erfan Behzadpour and Sam Samie on being passed to the Second Degree. Thanks also to our Grand Master and the Freemasons NSW & ACT administration for providing the pathway back to light. We are all enjoying the journey. #Freemasons #postcovid19 #masonry #mason #lettherebelight

24.01.2022 Number fans will appreciate the covid capacity of 42 - including Douglas Adams' answer to the meaning of life, Kabbalistic number of creation, 42 lettered name for G*D (Judaisim). More information here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/42_(number)#Religion

21.01.2022 Love the way society is evolving due to COVID. Yes, it is a worldwide tragedy. Yet there are good results as well. We are becoming much better connected and finding new ways to maintain our respect and ways of honouring the important events in life. Here's one great example. https://www.saffronwaldenreporter.co.uk//essex-over-8-000-

20.01.2022 Congratulations to Lodge Wyvern on its return to light. Pleasure also to see two very experienced brethren join as affiliates and master masons presented with their certificates. All followed up by a cracker south. Personally, great to catch up with a brother I have known for some 40 years and share a load of personal distress and hopefully provide comfort. A reminder of Freemasonry's greatest strength - the bond of brotherhood. Lo. Wyvern is the third lodge in our Distri...ct (22) to resume (no points for guessing Number One). Lodge Phoenix had its return to light last week and Lodge Vaucluse is set to become Number 4 on Friday night. Again thanks to our Grand Master and Freemasons NSW & ACT administration for providing the pathway to light out of the darkness of the COVID world. #Freemasons #postcovid19 #masonry #mason #lettherebelight See more

19.01.2022 About once a month, LMH gets phone calls from women wanting to be Masons or wanting to know how they can become Masons or abusing us for not admitting women. Sometimes it is a woman who is a Mason and has moved to the area. Other times, it is an "off the street" inquiry, or someone who simply wants to grind an axe. There is a Lodge for Women in Adelaide (under the Order of Women Freemasons), whose Grand Lodge is in England. The United Grand Lodge of England accepts Women C...raft Masonry as "regular" and recently issued this piece of information. We pass it on as an item of general interest. It does very neatly defuse the criticism of our Masonic observance that we are "anti women". The simple point is that women can join freemasonry - just not our Lodge. Perhaps if enough women get together, they could create a lodge under a suitable female jurisdiction for themselves. https://www.ugle.org.uk/becoming-a-freemas/women-freemasons See more

18.01.2022 OK, not masonic, but if you have not discovered Mnozil Brass - there is a whole world of Youtube waiting for you.

17.01.2022 The finished product. The hall restoration is finished ... we researched the 1911 colour scheme and have matched it as much as we can, right down to the painted ventilators (they have the Waratah flower on them, the floral emblem for NSW).

17.01.2022 Only in Australia ... not a set up. It's a letterbox in our neighbourhood. Seems the snake wanted a comfy spot to rest, post skin shed.

16.01.2022 LMH85 is proud to be the first lodge in the states of Australia to have met and then had a South (Lodges have been holding full meetings in the Northern Territory for a while now). Each person present had to pre-register and was temperature tested before being allowed into the building. We express our gratitude to the Grand Master and the administration of UGLNSW-ACT for creating the pathway for us to follow.

14.01.2022 The United Supreme Grand Chapter of Mark and Royal Arch Masons of NSW and ACT (it needs a shorter title) held its regular Convocation this weekend - proving it is possible for NSW grand bodies to continue to conduct business and be transparent in their governance in the current climate. The meeting was broadcast from the beautiful Egyptian Room of Royal Arch Masonic Temple, Petersham , the home of Royal Arch masonry in NSW to a large audience. Better communication is one of the few positive outcomes of adapting to the COVID world. These are shots on the fly from the bleachers - so no prize winning photos here.

12.01.2022 Women Freemasons have been meeting across the country for over 100 years. Find out all about the two female-only Grand Lodges, the Order of Women Freemasons and Freemasonry for Women, on our website. Find out more here bit.ly/WomenFreemasons #Freemasons

11.01.2022 Former Redfern Masonic Centre sells for $10m. Wonder what it was sold for .... https://www.afr.com//kerry-stokes-buys-redfern-masonic-hal

11.01.2022 Lovely photography by a lovely Brother.

11.01.2022 Members and Visitors for the Lodge's first meeting in five months and the first in the states of Australia to be followed by a South (dinner).

09.01.2022 A new Jacaranda is planted: some of our Brazilian brothers in arms. Otavio Martins (IPM), Thiago Garcia (SD), Gerry Gimenez (EAF), Dal Dudalski (SD) and Allan da Silva (SW)

09.01.2022 We Sydney masons like to help each other. LMH85 came to the assistance of Lodge Harold Herman Unity 428, which normally meets in a nearby masonic centre that has not yet come on line. HHU needed a meeting venue to change Secretaries and take care of business so of course we made our COVID-safe centre available. In a deal cooked up in the south at Lodge Jerusalem No. 1056 we were able to assist WM Andrew Coleman and his team to get the meeting held as simply as possible. They then headed off to our local - Hotel Mosman - one of the few great pubs with a kitchen that closes at 11.30pm. Perfect for post lodge souths. Not sure if it is commiserations or congratulations to regular LMH85 visitor WBro. Gunnar Habitz who takes over as HHU lodge secretary but LMH85 is sure all fellow secretaries wish him well in his very important role.

08.01.2022 Lovely story about Masons embracing charity. Also a lovely karma come around at the end. https://www.kmov.com//article_9bc3ff2a-c3a3-11ea-a0e9-8bfa

08.01.2022 First look at our newly renovated hall. The painters finished on Friday, there is still a little bit of cleaning to do, but we can't resist giving a sneak peek. Our valued tenants come back on Monday to a hall that has had a significant face lift.

08.01.2022 Mosman Masonic Centre is ready and waiting. Our commercial tenants have submitted their COVID plans to us and resume lessons on Monday. In the meantime we, like many other NSW/ACT centres that have gained Grand Lodge approval, are waiting for all the other Masonic Centres to complete the process. Once that is done, then Lodge Middle Harbour waits patiently while every Lodge in the Jurisdiction completes the next stage of the Grand Lodge approval process. Once all that is done, and of course any NSW Heath regulatory changes permitting, we will be meeting again. If any Centres of Lodges want any assistance, we are ready to help. As our GM has said - we are all one company - let's get this done!

07.01.2022 And yes, the Lodge Secretary runs the facebook page ...

06.01.2022 Now this is Really Good. Residents at the Tamworth RFBI aged care centre have become reality TV stars - catch them online and out and proud!! https://video.ibm.com/channel/eWyv5nLmKh9

04.01.2022 Fourth meeting since coming to light after the darkness of the March COVID shut down. We welcome Bro. Simon Greene (far left front) to our wonderful world wide fraternity. Our 92 years young Brother Ian Fitzpatrick (far left rear) celebrated his 56th masonic anniversary by delivering the Working Tools charge. For some reason Fbook is not letting us do the tagging we would like ... otherwise we would open that door. Again we are fortunate to live in an Australian State (NSW) where the regulations have allowed our Grand Lodge to create a pathway back to light. Too much light is never enough!! #postcovid19 #mason #lodge #freemasons Freemasons NSW & ACT

04.01.2022 Congratulations to Lodge Jerusalem No. 1056 and WM MWBro. Jamie Melville on coming out of COVID darkness. #mason #COVID19 #postcovid19 #freemasons #fraternity

02.01.2022 A new Jacaranda is planted: some of our Brazilian brothers in arms. Otavio Martins (IPM), Thiago Garcia (SD), Gerry Gimenez (EAF), Dal Dudalski (SD) and Allan da Silva (SW). The Jacaranda nickname comes from the tree being another spectacular South American import.

02.01.2022 Lodge Middle Harbour is *Back in Business*!! Meeting #2 post 5 month COVID break and our continued thanks to our Grand Master and Freemasons NSW & ACT for providing the way back to meetings. Note two men without aprons - but balloted for and accepted @ the meeting. They came in via our Zoom meetings and stuck. That means Initiations in October and November and (backlog) a double second in December. Burns Night January, First degree TB in February, big surprise for March and third degree in April and May, in the hope we that by then we are well clear of COVID provisions and we can fully communicate fellowship. #Masonry #Freemasons #postcovid19 #masoniclife

01.01.2022 Not everyone should become a Freemason. This is written from the US perspective, but it makes a good point. https://utahfreemasonry.org//10-reasons-why-you-cant-be-a/

01.01.2022 Not all that different from when it was built in 1911. Think the 1911 guys would love the aircon!!
