25.01.2022 Ever wondered how fast a grass fire can move? With the @Bureau of Meteorology predicting a warm and wet spring there is likely to be good grass and crop growth across NSW. With this growth will come the increased risk of grass fires. Maintain your property, be prepared and have a plan.

24.01.2022 You can't smell smoke in your sleep. Keep everything, including yourself, one metre from the heater. A kicked off blanket onto a heater can ignite in minutes, ...and unless you have a working smoke alarm - you might not wake until it's too late. #PreparedForAnything #ProtectTheIrreplaceable #MoreThanFire

15.01.2022 FACT: There will never be as many fire trucks as there are houses. Do not depend on a fire truck being available at your home. But if you and your home are well prepared, you stand a better chance of surviving a bush fire. There are simple things you can do around your home to prepare it for a bush fire, like keeping the grass low and having a cleared area around your home. Learn more and get ready at www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/plan-and-prepare #getreadyweekend #nswrfs

15.01.2022 The rain is welcome but it brings another risk. As grass dries out, the risk of dangerous grass fires increases. Grass fires are dangerous - they start easily and spread quickly. Check www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/grassfires for tips on getting ready this season. #NSWRFS

10.01.2022 On this day last year NSW recorded 17 concurrent Emergency Warnings. Communities in the Blue Mountains, Clarence Valley, Richmond Valley, Walcha, Armidale, Namb...ucca, Kempsey, Tenterfield, and the Mid Coast were all being impacted by fire. At 6pm 94 fires were burning across the state. While the losses on that day were significant they could have been far worse were it not for the extraordinary efforts of firefighters and community members. See more

10.01.2022 Outdoor heaters belong outside for a reason. NEVER use outdoor heaters, barbecues, or charcoal pits inside your home. LPG, heat beads, and the like emit lethal ...carbon monoxide which can be fatal in a confined space. 08.01.2022 We had a busy night last night, responding to multiple calls for trees down and fallen power lines in the Austral area due to high winds. If you see a fallen tree over power lines call triple 0
