24.01.2022 Leadership Tip of the Week - Many hands make light work Greg is back at it today, this time with a tip that will help you build your Leadership group for yo...ur Netball Association or Netball Club. If you’re involved in a Board or a Netball Club Committee I have no doubt that you’ve heard the old saying many hands make light work. As cliche as it sounds, it’s true. But often we sit back and wait for people to Volunteer. I’ll let you in on a secret... some of the best volunteers at your Club or Association aren’t actually VOLUNTEERS. Sure, they volunteer their time when undertaking the role they have, but ask yourself, how did they get there in the first place? More often than not they have received a tap on the shoulder or they have been approached by someone else from the Leadership group to gauge their interest in joining the Board or Committee. Is this a bad thing to have people handpicked for certain roles? No, but only if they are approached for the right reasons. They have a specific skill set or experience that the Club or Association can benefit from. Is this an easy process to find great volunteers? Not always, but we can help you navigate your way through and source some fantastic people that are already at YOUR CLUB! If you are on a Netball Association Board or Club Committee and you are struggling to find great people to join you, contact us today to find out more about our EVOLVE Leadership program. Read more: https://www.inspirenetballgroup.com/evolve Remember, many hands DO make light work! Having a role on a Board or Committee is a GREAT role as you have the opportunity to provide your members (players and families) with the chance to experience the game they love in the community they live in. #evolve #leadershipinnetball #buildingstrongleaders #leadershipdevelopment #leadersinnetball #board #committee #leadershipgroup #inspire #inspiringleaders #teaminspire #buildingteams #leaders #leadershipteam #communitysport #community #elite #passionate #innovative

17.01.2022 End of an era . More than 30 years after they built it, this morning the Rec Reserve Committee demolished the playground next to the netball courts - with man...y of those who pulled it down the same people who constructed it . The removal of the existing equipment is to make way for the brand new playground being built NEXT WEEK thanks to a Baw Baw Shire Council Placemaking Grant and a Rec Reserve co-contribution. Shoutout to David Balfour, Ron Mether, Norm Mether, Hank Fiddelaers, Marty Slade, and Bill Taylor for your hard (socially distant) work this morning. We are so lucky to have such committed volunteers in our community and can’t wait to see the new playground in action!

17.01.2022 Coaches Tip of the Week - Self Reflection Self-Reflection Why right now is the best time to engage in a self-reflective process to find out more about you...rself in order to improve performance. Using self-reflection is an important element of a coach’s development. This demonstrates the ability to remove the emotion and objectively assess your own ability. When we engage in self-reflection it allows us to identify our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities for development and any threats that might be an obstacle to improving i.e. SWOT analysis. It is vital that we are self-aware to understand ourselves from the inside, but external feedback helps too. Ask your family, mentors and or athletes about what they think are your strengths and weaknesses. Some of the outcomes to practicing self-reflection; It can make us more proactive, boost our acceptance, and encourage positive self-development. Self-awareness allows us to see things from the perspective of others, and experience pride in ourselves and our abilities as well as general self-esteem. It can lead to better decision-making. Self-Awareness & Reflection activity: complete your own SWOT analysis by dividing an A4 page up in into 4 quadrants using the below as an example: Quadrant 1 = Strength: What do you do well? What do you do better than others? What do others see as your strengths? Quadrant 2 = Weaknesses: What could you do better? What do others do better than you? What do others see as your weaknesses? Quadrant 3 = Opportunities: Which strengths could you turn into opportunities? What opportunities are there to develop your weaknesses? What opportunities are going on in your area to continue learning? E.g. Assistant/Apprentice Coach at the next level of coaching Quadrant 4 = Threats: What threats do your weaknesses expose you to? E.g. limit promotion or ability to gain next level of accreditation #coachestipoftheweek #netballcoach #netballcoaches #coachdevelopment #netballcoachdevelopment #inspiringcoaches #inspire #teaminspire #selfreflection #lookinginward #seekingfeedback #growthmindset
