25.01.2022 The GOOD NEWS is that we are re-opening again on the 1st of June! The bad news is that our amenities block must remain closed, which means we can only allow people into cabins or on sites providing that they have their own toilet and shower facilities onboard (no pop up shower tents unfortunately). All our cabins are booked for Queen's Birthday long weekend, but if you're self contained and want to get away from it all, give us a call - we'd love to see your faces!

25.01.2022 Its full speed ahead on the cottage! The back half has all been painted and wow, what a difference. The bright white has lightened the whole area and new carpeting has totally modernised the space. Cant wait to get stuck into the kitchen and living area! Heres a sneak peek of the finished bunk bedroom....

24.01.2022 Busy day on the mower getting the place looking good for when everyone can come back!

24.01.2022 IT'S OFFICIAL!! Melbourne is out of lockdown as at 11:59 tonight. To say we're excited to see all our guests and annuals from Melbourne Metro is a crazy understatement. ... Can't wait to see your faces!!

23.01.2022 You're almost there Melbourne! And WE CAN NOT WAIT to see YOUR FACES!!

23.01.2022 Who doesnt love a nice dunny? Work in progress, but it looks so good that I just had to share!

23.01.2022 Just a reminder to all that we'll be having our Australia Day Sausage Sizzle today at 6:30pm. All proceeds go to the Lima South CFA. ALL WELCOME! Come on in, have a snag, a natter and maybe even a coldie or two. Happy Australia Day!!

23.01.2022 And so we finally closed the door on the cottage reno today! Its been 6 weeks of really hard non-stop work and to say were seriously proud of what weve achieved is an understatement. Stay tuned for the walk through video to be posted in a couple of days.

22.01.2022 Unsurprisingly, we are fully closed again from midnight tonight for approximately 6 weeks. However we are still offering takeaway meals on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from midday until 7pm. Please stay safe and well and we look forward to seeing all our awesome guests, annuals and friends on the other side of this.

21.01.2022 GREAT NEWS! We have just been advised that we will now be permitted to open our amenities blocks from June 1st, meaning that we can welcome ALL guests, not just those with their own bathroom facilities. There will still be restrictions in place and lots of forms to fill in on arrival, but this is such a positive step forward and we are so excited to see all our wonderful guests new and old! Just check out this photo taken a couple of days ago. With beautiful days like this and cold nights perfect for camp fires, marshmallows and relaxing, what more can you ask for? Bring. It. On!

20.01.2022 Getting the soft fall down around the new playground ready for Grand Final long weekend! Part two of the new playground will be installed in the next couple of weeks.

20.01.2022 Goodbye forever hideous red wall! The cottage is really coming together now, were on the home straight with only the kitchen to finish.

20.01.2022 The days are getting longer, the weather's starting to warm up and they're playing Christmas carols in the supermarkets. That can only mean one thing.....

20.01.2022 Wow! What a fantastic result for our sausage sizzle. Not only did our fabulous park guests come down and support the cause, but the turn out from our local community was just amazing. And the end total, not yet counting all the silver coins (thanks Drew ) is a whopping $505! What a brilliant result. A massive thank you to all who came, and especially so to those members of the Lima South Fire Brigade who came and helped out. You guys are awesome!

19.01.2022 LATEST UPDATES Melbourne Metro Lockdown Locations: Unfortunately the news wasn't as good as expected and the travel restrictions to regional Victoria haven't been lifted in time for the Melbourne Cup long weekend. It's so upsetting having to cancel bookings - we're as gutted as you are - but please keep your chins up and stay positive because there really is a light at the end of the tunnel and we simply can't wait to see all your faces back up here sooner than later.... Regional Victoria: For those in regional Victoria it's business as normal, with the exception of the camp kitchen which remains closed. Currently we have both cabins and sites available, so if you're looking to get away give us a call. We'd dearly love to see some of our regional guests and really appreciate the support.

18.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE At this stage, because we're not in a lockdown zone we are still open for business. Unfortunately however, due to yesterday's lockdown announcement we're not allowed to accept anyone from anywhere within the lockdown regions. This is devastating to us and to those of you who are unable to get away, but more than anything we just want all our awesome guests, annuals and friends to stay safe and healthy. We can't wait to see all your faces back up here sooner than later.

18.01.2022 And so we finally closed the door on the cottage reno today! It’s been 6 weeks of really hard non-stop work and to say we’re seriously proud of what we’ve achieved is an understatement. Stay tuned for the walk through video to be posted in a couple of days.

18.01.2022 Were so close to the finish line....cant wait to show off our beautifully revamped cottage in a week or so......

17.01.2022 An update for those wondering about Easter here at Midland with all the Covid-19 concerns. At this point in time its business as usual. We are members of the Victorian Caravan Parks Association, who are keeping us updated daily. The following is the most current update that we have received: "VicParks advises that its current legal advice is that the presence of more than 500 people in a caravan park for the normal operation of accommodation services will not be a "mass gath...ering" within the meaning of the Direction published by the Victorian Chief Health Officer yesterday under section 200 of the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008. This applies regardless of whether the park is occupied by residents, site tenants, annuals or tourists or a combination of them. A "mass gathering" within the meaning of the Direction must be held in a single undivided space with 500 plus people being in it at the one time. In a caravan park, the occupants are housed in cabins, caravans and/or tents and are not usually all in the one undivided space at the one time." We have however, decided to cancel the Easter egg hunt so as to avoid having a large group of people gathered together. This is disappointing, but we will still have some Easter fun happening for the kids. We hope this gives you some peace of mind, and rest assured that should anything change we will contact all our guests immediately.

16.01.2022 We’re so close to the finish line....can’t wait to show off our beautifully revamped cottage in a week or so......

15.01.2022 Here it is folks, our newly renovated Midland Cottage. Please excuse the very ordinary video and commentary - not my best skills thats for sure! Anyhoo, love to hear your feedback!

15.01.2022 The bad news is that our park has been closed down due to coronavirus (COVID-19). The good news is that we are still open for take away! And not to blow our own whistle or anything, but seriously, our food's pretty damn good. Minimum orders of $10.00, open till 8pm. Check out our online menu: https://www.midlandholidaypark.com.au/cafe

14.01.2022 It never ceases to amaze how magnificent nature can be. Sunsets like this are one of the perks of living in this gorgeous region. How lucky we are Photo credit: Colwyn Parfitt

12.01.2022 We love all of our Midland Family, and when something super special happens we just have to share it. Our vanners were here supporting us on our very first day and have claimed a very special spot in our hearts, and so we are very pleased to announce the safe arrival of our newest member of the Midland Family, Miss Willow Joan Harrison. Our congratulations to Mummy Morgan, Daddy Kian, Nanny Donna and Pop John. We are so very happy for you all, and can't wait for big cuddles

12.01.2022 Why fly away for the winter when there is so much to enjoy right here on our very own doorstep? Autumn and winter in North East Victoria is amazing. Beautiful blue skies by day and cold nights perfect for rugging up in front of a camp fire. Not to mention that Mt Buller is only an hour's drive away and it won't be long before the slopes are ready for fun. Check out some of the area's wineries or day trip to beautiful Bright and marvel at the magnificent scenery. What's not to love? #lovewhereyoulive #campfiremarshmellows #winterinaustralia #aussieholidays

12.01.2022 Fingers crossed it won't be too much longer before people can start packing to go away again. Keep checking back regularly - will update this page as soon as we know when we can re-open.

10.01.2022 Forget the cooking and the dishes, come join us for an Australia Day sausage sizzle! Snags in bread with onions and coleslaw, $1.50 each with all proceeds to t...he Lima South CFA. Bring the kiddies for a look at the Lima South fire truck. Starting at 6:30pm, Sunday 26th at the camp kitchen. All welcome! See more

10.01.2022 Anyone who’s stayed or is thinking of staying in our 4 Bedroom Cottage...watch this space!! What better way to fill in the lull left from the COVID lockdown than a total makeover??

08.01.2022 Unfortunately due to the weather the whole area is out of power and likely to be until tomorrow morning. This means the kitchen will be closed until it comes back on. Looks like its going to be a long, dark, hot night.

08.01.2022 Due to a last minute cancellation we now have the following accommodation available for the Melbourne Cup Long Weekend: Four Bedroom Cottage 2 x Two Bedroom Deluxe Cabins 1 x Studio Cabin Get in quick to secure your stay.... Also, for those of you who've been having trouble getting through to us on the phone, we've been experiencing some issues that have (hopefully) been rectified.

08.01.2022 Keeping our fingers crossed that Monday brings good news. But in the meantime, heres a gorgeous photo our lovely neighbor took this morning. Isnt it stunning?

07.01.2022 It’s hard to imagine that this time last year our gorgeous Lake Nillahcootie was sitting at 40% capacity. Today it’s overflowing into Broken River and promising to offer up an awesome boating season this summer.

07.01.2022 As excited as we are to be open to everyone from Melbourne Metro, we still have to follow Covid regulations and guidelines, so just wanted to reiterate that certain rules still need to be observed and adhered to. All in all it's not too bad, and the weather forecast is looking fabulous....so bring on the weekend!

07.01.2022 Who doesn’t love a nice dunny? Work in progress, but it looks so good that I just had to share!

06.01.2022 It's hard to believe that Australia Day is almost upon us - didn't we just have Christmas? Speaking of Australia Day, we still have some powered and unpowered sites available if you want to get away for a short break of relaxation or fun on the water. And not forgetting of course our Australia Day sausage sizzle supporting the Lima South CFA. We are being asked daily about the fires up here and whether they are anywhere near us. At this stage, we are totally safe from the fires and free of any warnings. The nearest fire is in Abbeyard which is still a significant distance away and has recently been downgraded. There is some smoke haze around - some days are better than others - but we're being told it's pretty much the same across the state.

06.01.2022 It’s full speed ahead on the cottage! The back half has all been painted and wow, what a difference. The bright white has lightened the whole area and new carpeting has totally modernised the space. Can’t wait to get stuck into the kitchen and living area! Here’s a sneak peek of the finished bunk bedroom....

05.01.2022 Who can believe that Christmas is just 4 weekends away? With that in mind now's the time to get your Christmas / New Years bookings in as we are filling up fast. Currently we have one Studio Cabin and a handful of powered and unpowered sites still available, so don't delay. Also a reminder to all that the park is now in Total Fire Ban and will remain so until at least the 31st of March next year.

05.01.2022 Just letting everyone know that we're having a few problems with Telstra and our domain at the moment so our website and emails are currently down. If anyone needs to contact please do so via phone or Facebook message.

04.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who came to our Grand Final BBQ this year. What an awesome day it's been - the weather was gorgeous, the food was yum and the people were amazing. And best of all...we have raised $237.70 for Love Your Sister. GO TIGES!

03.01.2022 Anyone whos stayed or is thinking of staying in our 4 Bedroom Cottage...watch this space!! What better way to fill in the lull left from the COVID lockdown than a total makeover??

03.01.2022 LATEST UPDATE The Victorian Government has announced today, a local lockdown of suburbs in 10 postcodes throughout Melbourne. As a result, from 11:59pm Wednesday 1st of July we have no choice but to start checking people's addresses at the time of booking. Further to this we will also be asking that every guest (children excluded) brings adequate identification stating their current residential address, which we will inspect on arrival. Unfortunately anyone who fails to provide this will not be able to stay in our park. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience, however this is something we have to do in order to remain open and fully operational.

03.01.2022 After appealing to the Victorian Caravan Parks Association to start lobbying the Government to look into easing the restrictions on caravan parks, we've just received an email from them saying they're going to engage a lobbying firm to do just that. Combined with our beautiful friend and annual who has just started an online petition, we're going to force some action and hopefully we may be able to start easing back into operation sooner than later. Please take a minute to sign and share the petition. https://www.gopetition.com/peti/save-our-caravan-parks.html

02.01.2022 Still looking for that perfect something for Mr or Mrs Hard To Buy For? A gift voucher giving a loved one a break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life is a thoughtful and practical gift. Call or email to secure yours before Christmas.

02.01.2022 Just when we thought it was safe to get excited.... It appears that someone has jumped the gun and where we've been lead to believe that the toilets and showers will be allowed to open from June 1st, we've now been told that it will be toilets only - not showers. We are so sorry if this has caused anyone any inconvenience - we're navigating a minefield here and relying on the information given to us at the time to be true and correct, which unfortunately it wasn't. We'll keep posting here if anything further changes.
