24.01.2022 STAR OF THE MONTH: Dan has only been with us a short time but has become an exceptional part of the team. Dan is well liked by everyone with his easy demeanour and can do attitude. Dan has brought with him a wealth of experience and due to this there has been a lot of weight lifted from both Chris and Wayne with orthopaedic surgeries which has allowed them to concentrate on other areas of the business. Dans client care, patient compassion and staff interaction makes him a great addition to the team. Thanks for all of your hard work Dan and congratulations on being this months Star of the Month.

17.01.2022 This quarter from 1st July through to 30 September we will focus on our senior pets, a senior pet is classed as a pet 7 years or older. Just like humans, our furry friends need a little extra attention as they start to get older. A nutritious diet, gentle exercise regime and regular vet visits will help keep your pet happy and healthy during this time. We all slow down as we get older, so it is important that you are sensitive to what your senior pet is experiencing as it mat...ures. Taking care of an older pet may require a little extra patience, but that is what makes the experience so rewarding. This quarter we are offering; * Full Veterinary health exam * Discounted blood screening (saving up to $100) * Discounted urinalysis * Advice and information from our vets on caring for your senior pet * FREE Senior Focus Information Pack with Royal Canin Money OFF Voucher All from $108.00 Together we can help your pet to live a long healthy life... 16.01.2022 STAR OF THE MONTH: Alison is an overall amazing person who will drop everything to help another staff member or client. With the huge decrease in the administration staff Alison now has rostered hours on reception. This is making her bookkeeping work harder to complete but she never complains. Her ability to be busy, stressed and generally under the pump but to still make the person she is dealing with feel important is a credit to her. There is nothing that she wont do when asked and it is all done with a smile. Alison you are truly a star. Not just of this month but always.

16.01.2022 Adorable Aaliyah has been coming to see Dr Martine since she was just a little pup. She came to visit yesterday for some staging for a skin tumour we removed recently. She brought her new baby sister Lyla with her, super cute!

15.01.2022 Heartworm is spread by mosquito bites, so pets that have no direct contact with other animals are still at risk. Get all the facts on heartworm on our recent blog post http://www.midlandvet.com.au/heartworm-disease-in-dogs-and/

08.01.2022 Little Gismo helped himself to some of his owners chocolates the other night. Luckily his owner noticed immediately and phoned the clinic for advice. It was determined that Gismo had eaten nearly 170g of chocolates and that this was a toxic dose. Not only did his poor mum have to rush him to us for emergency care, the little scamp didnt leave any chocolates for anyone else! Gismo left with an emptier tummy after he was made to vomit and his mum will now be making sure she keeps all her yummy treats out of his reach!

08.01.2022 Kim is a 13 year old boxer cross who came in today for an ultrasound with Dr Wayne today as she has been drinking a lot of water. Kims blood test showed an increase in her liver enzymes and her ultrasound showed an enlarged adrenal gland which could possibly be due to Cushing disease. Ultrasound in these cases is an excellent tool to be able to assess the difference between liver pathology and possible Cushings Disease. For more information on Cushings disease head to our website. http://www.midlandvet.com.au//cushings-disease-dogs-hyper/
