29.01.2022 Midlife friendships really are the bomb! Especially when they come in the form of a kooky, quirky, hilarious, super cool cat like this one @ursula.lockwood Laughter, music, dancing, connection and cheerful conversation with a dear friend of many years are absolute gifts to the soul. And it’s even better when they show up out of the blue, exactly when you need them the most! . It can take lots of factors to thrive during turbulent times. But one of the very best w...ays is through our friendships. Happiness comes in all shapes and sizes, just like our buddies really! Letting down our guard, opening up and feeling completely comfortable with another person enhances our lives in ways we don’t always even realise. . 21.01.2022 Then this happened! Stoked to be seeing Elton tonight!

19.01.2022 Happy Earth Day! Just as many of us have had a chance to hit the pause and reset button, so too has our beautiful planet. Mama Earth has been given the gift of a period of healing. And boy did she need it, just as much as the rest of us! . ... With reports showing less global emissions, reduction to air pollution levels, clearer water in the rivers and an increase of bird life and butterflies everywhere, you can practically see our world smiling at this short respite. Never before has it been more apparent that we need to protect our planet - the only home we truly have. My hope is that we will see more focus on protecting the world around us, live more sustainably and prioritise finding solutions to the overconsumption and neglect that has led us to where we are today . But for today, I encourage you to simply take a moment and connect directly to the earth. Get outside, take some deep breaths and marvel at the natural beauty of our wonderful world around us Kick off your shoes and feel soft sand or grass squish between your toes. When you come into bare-foot contact with the earth, you’re connecting to her healing energy and your body will thank you for it. Just try it and see! Listen to the birds, notice the sunshine and give thanks for the free gifts our earth provides . You deserve that today!

18.01.2022 Looking around it’s obvious that lots of us feel stressed out, worried and unsure of the future. It’s no wonder - we don’t know what lies ahead or how quickly or slowly life as we know it will return. Its real, its happening and it can’t be ignored. But life will and must go on. So it’s important to take super good care of ourselves in EVERY way as we ride out the storm. Obviously with our general health practices and extra strict measures required right now. Also with o...ur day to day wellness routines - continuing to move, exercise and choosing to eat healthy real foods that support our bodies, getting enough sleep and staying hydrated. We really have to keep doing ‘all the things’ and then some. It means being extra self aware of our emotional wellbeing. Doing what works for us - to keep anxiety, worry and fear to a minimum. What is it YOU need to help you through this period in time? Recognise what brings you joy and go after more of that. Music is incredibly healing during times of trouble - listen to more of it. Reading can help transport us from our everyday world, even just temporarily, and help our calm return. Learning something new can help us feel empowered and improve our lives in positive ways - why not follow up on those passions from the past or gain a new skill? Helping others, volunteering time and effort can be another brilliant way to reenergise ourselves emotionally. When we can be of service to others, we’re giving the ultimate gift. This is what true self care is all about right now. All the little things that can get overlooked when big scary things go on in the world. Don’t lose sight of what you need right now. When you honour your own needs first you’re then in a better position to help others. To be more compassionate and kinder. This is the way forward. We mustn’t give up or slacken off, it’s time to show up. For ourselves first and foremost, and then for everyone around us

14.01.2022 The Beatles sang it best....’All you need is love’. It’s a powerful force. . Fear travels like wildfire. Especially when you’re soaking in it 24/7. .... Today I challenge you to spread some LOVE instead. . How can you think creatively and share some love with others? . LOVE can be felt without touch. . What can you do today to show your love to another? . Love is all we need.... With all my Love to you xo See more

12.01.2022 Keeping hope alive in times of trouble can feel like a constant struggle. However, living in and with hope is most critical when we are being challenged by external circumstances. . The good news is, with some self-awareness and regular focus, its possible to tap into hope and all the strength and freedom it can help provide. For it’s hope that can move us through fear and worry. .... Working on our hope muscle is like anything else - it firstly needs attention placed on it. It’s up to ourselves to activate that glimmer of hope that lies deep within and allow it to transform our less positive thoughts and feelings. . Opening our minds and heart to hopeful possibilities allows our perception to change. With hope we can start to see solutions and not just the problems. It opens up new pathways and directions that we don’t always see when hope isn’t present. . If things have been feeling hopeless to you, make the choice today. Take a moment now and breathe in hope. Close your eyes and remember that despite everything happening, no-one can take away your hope. You’re not ignoring reality, merely giving your current one a hopeful polish and shine. . Shine on hopeful ones! See more

10.01.2022 The longer a crisis continues, the harder it is to maintain a sense of calm. Especially in a world of ‘social distancing’. (Gosh, remember there was a time we didn’t even know what the heck that meant?!) . We all know that being physically separated from people we love and care about in this day and age doesn’t mean we aren’t still connected. Now more than ever we need to keep our connections and communication open with one another. . If you’re someone who’s struggling... and suffering with an avalanche of dark thoughts, please please please, reach out - in whatever way you’re able to - and connect with someone who can help you. You truly are not alone. . And if you’re someone who’s managing ok and able to offer help and guidance to others, please please please reach out to those who can benefit from your care. . We’re all in this together. With love, compassion and togetherness we will find our strength See more

07.01.2022 Making changes in our life can often feel overwhelming at the start. Especially when you’ve been putting it off for a long time. Even more so when the change you desire is important and means a great deal. ... The only way to move forward is to take that first step. To trust in yourself enough to know that if you make a start, no matter how teeny tiny it is, you’ve started the journey. Focus on that first step and put all your energy into taking it. You don’t need to worry about all the rest right now. Take that one step today and see how it feels. There is always tomorrow to take the next one.... If doing it all alone feels too hard, why not consider getting help? As a motivational life coach I can gently support you through those overwhelming early stages. Together we can navigate the path forward, one baby step at a time

06.01.2022 Ever find yourself second guessing yourself due to someone else’s opinion of you? . . Perhaps they’ve said or done something that is hurtful that weakens your self belief and self esteem or sees you question who you are at the depth of your soul? .... . Allowing the opinions of others to colour our own beliefs and values can set us on a downward spiral, strip us of our confidence and essentially see us playing small. When we allow others to diminish our light we can end up shrinking away from being our true selves and living to our highest potential. . . I know this first hand and have literally been living and breathing what I describe over recent weeks. And it sucks! . . Sometimes the only thing we can do is draw a line in the sand and say to ourselves enough is enough. It’s time to take back my personal power! . . It’s not always easy I know. But the relief you feel when you allow yourself to let go of the angst and move forward again is totally worth it. Holding onto negative emotions thrust on us by others is a fast track to misery. We should never let others define us or allow them to take away our personal perceptions of who we are as humans. . . If you can relate to my words please know I see you. Also know you have a choice here - so consciously choose to let go of worrying about what others think of you and trust that the person you know yourself to be, is worthy. It’s really all that matters.

04.01.2022 Our world sure has been turned upside down. If you’re in a state of worry and stress, no-one could blame you. There is a LOT to be concerned about. No if’s or buts about it. But it might be worth considering the impact your constant worry is having on your overall health. And if it’s actually something you need to be getting under control. It’s easy to blame everything going on around us. There is a lot of questions we’d love to have answered. ... However I encourage you to take a big deep breath and ask yourself THIS following question - . Right here, right now in this moment - am I actually ok? . I would say the vast majority of us actually are. We may be inconvenienced and living differently to our ‘norm’, but really, for most of us today we’re ok overall. . I’m by no means trying to minimise the reality of the very stressful time in history we’ve landed ourselves in. Of course we don’t know what the future will bring. And that’s scary as shit. . But when you think about it, this is actually true every single day we live. Accidents, mishaps and unexpected happenings go on for all of us, all of the time. Thankfully we don’t usually stay focused on that fact! . I know you’re doing the best you can. I know you’ll continue to do all the right things you need to do right now. Stability and certainty might take a while to return but in life it’s the tough times that make us stronger. In extreme situations, we have to do all we can to manage and reduce our stress, especially worrying about the unknown future. It merely ruins this moment. And right here, right now, most of us are doing ok. At least for now. And right here right now is what matters the most. See more

04.01.2022 Talking to fellow midlifers its been interesting to hear how many of us have actually loved certain aspects of the corona virus fallout. Like big time! Extra time to do more enjoyable things and the shift of focus created by forced isolation at home. . Personally I’m not aware of anyone diagnosed or who suffered with covid-19. Nor have the vast majority of people I’ve spoken with. Generally speaking, we’ve not had to deal directly with the negative aspects of the virus. ... This has meant that the positive side of the ‘full-stop’ has been more pronounced. . People are embracing new ways of being, doing and behaving - lots have taken huge positive leaps forward with their physical and emotional health. Many are exercising more, are more aware of their diet, or are starting new ventures and creating fantastic new habits. . But....and there is a BUT! (I’m not talking about anything that has either toned or spread further south either!) . What happens when you don’t have as much freedom/time/space or whatever, when things go back to ‘normal’? Will you be able to MAINTAIN those good new habits? Either we’ll do everything in our power to stick to our new found positive habits and lifestyle upgrades OR we’ll slowly slowly return back to our ‘same old same old’.....the less ideal side of our ‘old normal’. . Which way do you think you’ll be heading? . If you’ve uncovered new passions, interests or are experiencing a new improved YOU that you love, perhaps you’re wondering how you can stay on track? You don’t want to go back to the way things were - to the stress, extra weight, bad habits etc. . Then working with a life coach might be a very good decision for you right now. Being supported during any transition we go through, esp when it relates to a better life, works a helluva lot more effectively when someone has your back. I’d love to be your someone! . If you’d like to know more about how I can help you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Don’t let anything you’ve gained over this period end up down the plug-hole. Unless it’s extra kg’s of course...they can certainly go! See more

04.01.2022 Getting started can often be the hardest thing to do. . Especially when it’s something that feels overwhelming and you’ve been putting off BUT you really want to get done! .... Today, try telling yourself you’ll give it JUST 5 MINUTES of your focus. A mere 5 minutes of your time on that one thing. . That’s usually all it takes to break the seal and get out of procrastination. We all have 5 minutes, right? . And you know what? Chances are once you’ve started, your 5 minutes will stretch to 10 minutes, or even longer. . Do that every day for a week and before you know it, you’ve made real PROGRESS! . Don’t let overwhelm rob you of even making a start. Break it down into the smallest manageable piece you can today and go from there. If you’re struggling to make that start, know that I understand. As a life coach, I’m here to help you work through your procrastination. Why not make the call today? . Wishing you a motivated week ahead! See more

01.01.2022 How are you holding up with everything going on? We all have different ways of coping in times of trouble and crisis. We all have an opinion, or belief on the current situation, it sure can’t be ignored no matter how hard we wish for that! Hopefully you’re also seeing the helpful and informative advice getting through the cracks of doom and gloom. Oh, and the hilarious memes and jokes! Some people are so clever and so quick! . Right now more than ever, we need to all...ow ourselves to feel a sense of calm. Not easy I know, when our media and social channels are rife with a never-ending stream of fear inducing content that does little for our hope. Not easy when it can feel as though our world is collapsing around us. . In spite of the conditions we’re enduring, now is the time for calmness. It’s the time to learn about good nutrition and what we can do to enjoy optimal health always. Time to prioritise self care and wellness. . And most important, now is the time to breathe deeply and connect within. That’s where we can find our solace and our calm. And the very best way to do this is with meditation. Especially if you’ve been caught up in the cycle of fear and panic. . If you’re new to it, today I encourage you to give meditation a try. Guided meditations are fantastic if you have no clue where to start. . There are thousands to choose from on you tube, on every topic you could think of. I can recommend - Rising Higher Meditation; Pura Rasa; Jason Stephenson and The Honest Guys. Do a search for any of these to get started and see if they resonate with you. The world around us won’t actually change as a result but the way we perceive it certainly can. When we can bring some inner calm and peace into our being, we’re releasing the grip of fear and as a result we’re strengthening our immune system. This goes a long way towards protecting our health, from the inside out. As the world battens down the hatches and retreats into isolation, my wish is for you to stay well. Do all you can to support yourself and loved ones in a rational and calm way. With love, Kylie x See more
