24.01.2022 Good day down at the GJCA Presentations, with the grandstands packed, and a good turnout at the games. More photos will be in the Gloucester Advocate on Wednesday. Also good to see MyCricket Live Scoring being used in the GDCA Preliminary Final!

21.01.2022 Other than the number of presentation nights for local junior clubs and associations, the Mid North Coast was recently paid a visit by a couple of former players, courtesy of the Australian Cricketers Asssociation's Past Player Program. With Charlotte Anneveld (ex-Australian Player), and Liam Zammit (ex-NSW player), along with Kempsey local and Sydney Sixers rookie, Brett Russell all popping along to various locations along the coast, it was certainly an experience for those ...lucky enough to receive a visit. However, the star of the show has to be Syd Sixer across the three days, with all the kids wanting 'high fives', 'hugs', and 'photos' with the loveable mascot. Congratulations also go to those awarded the 'School Ambassador', 'Club', and 'T20 Blast' volunteers of the year along the Mid North Coast. A thoroughly deserving reward for those whom put a lot and time and effort into their local cricket community. The photos below involve kids and adults from the Nabiac in2CRICKET centre, Great Lakes Junior CC's Presentation Evening, Port Macquarie Adventist School, Kempsey T20 Blast, and Upper Macleay schools.

17.01.2022 Other programs currently being run within the area include - All Indoor Centres are currently running indoor cricket. If you are interested, then pop down to Wingham on a Tuesday night or Kempsey on Monday night for adults. For kids, then the programs are on Wednesday nights in Wingham, and Monday nights in Kempsey. Current school programs are being run at Manning Valley Anglican College and Upper Lansdowne Public School.... Sporting School trial sites are also being run at Kempsey East Public School, with a recently completed trial also occurring at Scotts Head Public School. A new trial site will begin shortly at St. Agnes Primary School in Port Macquarie. If your school (or you would like your school) would like to participate in the program, then please see the Sporting Schools website on how to sign up for the program - https://sportingschools.gov.au Finally, new casual staff are always welcomed, with an updated job description being posted shortly. If you are interested in some casual work in the unique and rewarding field, then please feel free to drop us a line through this page.

15.01.2022 Whilst it is the 'off season' to many, it has not stopped many local school kids enjoying their cricket and some its associated benefits. Recently, Wauchope Public School Kindergarten students received a visit from Syd Sixer himself, whom went about playing his guitar in a very exciting fashion. All students in this year level also received a free skim milk and MILO as well, just to wash down their excitement. This came at the conclusion of one four-week program involving som...e of these students, but all Kindergarten students will be undertaking the program at some stage throughout the remainder of the year. The wet weather brought a stop to one MILO T20 Blast School Cup recently, but an internal one down at Forster Public School still went ahead as scheduled. Whilst the ground was certainly a little damp, the students still managed to enjoy their time in the fleeting sun that shone upon the event. Over recent weeks, students at the school have consumed almost 750 cups of MILO and milk, and are/have/will be involved in a variety of four week programs during normal sport times.

10.01.2022 Lest We Forget. From the sounds of it, some very large turnouts at most Dawn Services along the Mid North Coast this morning. It was certainly standing room only at the Town Green in Port Macquarie.

01.01.2022 Over the past few weeks, five volunteers along the Mid North Coast have been recognised for their outstanding efforts across the 2014-15 season. These volunteers of the year have put in a phenomenal amount of effort across the season, with many also contributing a number of volunteer hours in many previous seasons as well. With these, and countless other volunteers, many of the activities that local children and adults undertake on a regular basis would not be able to be achi...eved in the same manner. Hence, we owe all of them our thanks for their efforts across the season, as well as acknowledging all of the tireless hours spent throughout the entire year. All five volunteers received a signed Cricket NSW bat or alternative item, as well as a framed certificate to acknowledge their achievements. These five volunteers of the year are - Callan Radford (Gloucester JCA - Youth Volunteer) Jordan Best (Port Macquarie JCC - Youth Volunteer) June Wynter (Kempsey Heights - in2CRICKET/T20 Blast Volunteer) Phillip Lillehagen (Port Macquarie Adventist School - School Ambassador) Trevor McBride (Great Lakes JCC - Club) A couple of news articles also appeared for the Mid North Coast's Youth Volunteers, with these links below - http://www.gloucesteradvocate.com.au//callen-radford-rec/ https://au.prime7.yahoo.com//honour-for-young-cricket-vol/ All volunteers certainly deserved to be recognised, and are hopefully enjoying a well earned break between the just gone and upcoming cricket seasons.
