21.01.2022 Baby massage techniques for the feet, hands and ears are based on reflexology, a discipline that seems to have been practiced in all ancient healing cultures go...ing back thousands of years. Evidence of the practices dates back as far as 2330 BC! It was observed that congestion or tension in any part of the foot had a tendency to mirror congestion and tension in a corresponding part of the body. Treating the foot therefore is thought to have a relaxing and possibly healing effect on the body. . . . . . #babyfeet #reflexology #babyreflexology #babymassage #massage #massagetherapy #babygirl #babyshower #babyfever #babyboy #babys #babyg #babylove #babybump #babycute #babywearing #babyboy #babystuff #newborn #parenting #parenthood #footreflexology #reflexologytreatment #reiki #health #footmassage #massagetime

02.01.2022 This is so interesting. If you would like like to learn Infant massage send me a message. Salivary oxytocin concentrations in boys with autism spectrum disorder ... Researchers from the Department of Clinical Psychology, Tezukayama University in Japan along with Japan's Research Center for Child Mental Development conducted a pilot study in which seven male children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), aged 8-12 years, were assigned to receive touch therapy. Their mothers were instructed to provide massage to their child for 20 minutes every day over a period of 3 months, followed by no massage for 4 months. To assess the biological effects of such touch therapy, saliva was collected from the mothers and their children before and after each session of massage every 3 weeks during the massage period and every 4 weeks during the non-massage period. Salivary oxytocin levels were measured using an enzyme immunoassay kit. During the period of massage therapy, the children and mothers exhibited higher oxytocin concentrations compared to those during the non-massage period. The changes in oxytocin levels before and after a single massage session were not significantly changed in children and mothers. The results suggested that children with ASD and their mothers show touch therapy-dependent changes in salivary oxytocin concentrations. The outcome of touch therapy was assessed using a questionnaire asking mothers to indicate their observation of their children’s behaviours after having a massage at home. The mother’s feeling was also obtained by interviews before, during, and after massage each day. Home Record Sheets were completed by mothers and analyzed. As preliminary results, three children were reported by mothers to be more relaxed. Four children improved reciprocal social interaction and communication to others, but three children were unchanged. There was no report on improved sleep patterns. The effect of massage by six mothers (85%) was the feeling of closeness to their children. Massage appeared to have facilitated the bond between mothers and children that previously may have been disrupted by the nature of autism and by mothers’ inability to understand and communicate with their children. Five mothers reported that they were pleased to see their children become relaxed and enjoy receiving massage. Source: US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health
01.01.2022 Basic things to remember about Infant Massage. Pick the right time. Remember newborns get tired really quickly and massage time should be at a different awake time then bath time. Massage at one end of day and bath time at the other end. Morning bath and nighttime massage.... Pick the right massage oil. I love to use organic coconut oil, it’s perfect because the molecules are tiny and can soak in to the baby skin and it’s antibacterial and anti fungal. And there is no greasy feel on the skin. Cold pressed organic sesame seed oil is great too it’s just a little more expensive. Essential oils are not recommended. Pick your correct environment and position Warm and inviting, no drafts. Maybe sound music. Set yourself and Bub up on the floor. Never on a bed. Go with the flow of what baby is comfortable with. Lying on the floor, or on laying your legs or sitting on your lap. Wins for mum and baby Mums are less stressed and less likely to become depressed. Plus they get to understand babies clues a lot earlier than mums that don’t massage. Face to face time is super important for babies brain development. The tiny movement of mums face create neurological responses in the Bub brain. Storing away important understanding, ‘like knowing when someone is happy or angry’ Skills that we use to interact with each other. If FaceTime is limited (because mum is depressed or addicted to her phone) baby may miss this important behavioural brain development. I’m truly passionate about mums and dads putting down their mobiles and interacting with Bub. Babies that are massaged are cry less. And sleep better. Reduced reflux. The vagus nerve is stimulated which switches on the digestive system, respiratory system and circularly system. If you would like to give your baby a great start. And learn about more like setting techniques and just really connect with your baby then message me and sign up for my 4 week course. I am a full qualified Infant Massage Instructor and I can’t wait to teach a technique that you can use until your baby has their own babies.
