22.01.2022 This Little Food Van is having a ‘Soft Launch’ this Saturday from 6.30pm at the Midway Point Roundabout. You are invited to come and say hello and have a look at what they are trying to create. We already know they have the best chips, fried in delicious Tassie Tallow. There will be Sushi, Tassie made Hot Dogs and Tasmanian Beef Burgers. We have heard that they mare also working on Duck and Pork Belly Souvlaki......OMG!!! Spoiler alert they will also be at this weeks Sorell Market.

12.01.2022 It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Only 6 short sleeps remain until Christmas Eve, and that's our favourite time of the year at the Midway Point Fi...re Brigade - because it means Santa pays us a visit and helps us to deliver lollies all around our community! As is tradition, our lolly run will start at approximately 4pm consecutively from three separate locations. All care is taken to pre-plan our routes to ensure the trucks do not meet each other along the run, but you may come across us more than once in your travels. Unfortunately due to our ever-growing community it is impossible for us to drive in to every cul-de-sac and some cross streets, so please keep an eye out for us as we may only stop at the end of the street. We can't wait to see everyone's smiling faces, but please remember to stay on the footpath and wait for the firetrucks to come to a complete stop before you approach us! Any photos you happen to snap with Santa, please feel free to share to our page as well. A rough plan of where our trucks will start is below; unfortunately due to the size and complex nature of the run it's a bit too difficult for us to give exact times or locations we'll be at, the best advice is to keep your ear out for the sirens to get close! Midway Point: Starting at Penna Road near the Midway Point Golf Club, on to Kirabati Road and working through streets. Sorell, lower streets: Starting at Shark Point Road near Wolstenholme Drive, on to Gordon Street and covering most side roads. Penna and Sorell, upper streets: Starting at the far end of Shark Point Road, on to Pennington Drive and covering most side roads, then out to Pawleena Road as far as the Sorell Fruit Farm. We'd love if you could share this post far and wide so as many people in our community know as possible!

02.01.2022 Our brigade recently came together to celebrate the service and retirement of one of our longstanding members, Robert Glass. Bob joined the TFS in 1999; since t...hen providing close to 21 years service to the Maydena, Cambridge and Midway Point brigades. Bob was presented with a TFS pin recognising 20 years long service, as well as a Huon pine clock and plaque from the brigade members. Whilst Bob will no longer be attending fire calls, we have a sneaking suspicion he'll be on our fire trucks again some day in the future... A special thanks also to the Midway Point Tavern for generously providing pizzas for us to enjoy on the night!
