25.01.2022 GAMES ON IN THE MURCHISON About 100 children from across the Murchison gathered in Cue yesterday for a youth sports carnival with a focus on cricket and fo...otball. The event was organised by the Stephen Michael Foundation and brought together competitors from towns including Wiluna, Mt Magnet and Meekatharra, Western Australia . Foundation program coordinator Andrew McCarrey says the region has a wealth of sporting talent. "I have been working up in the area for a couple of years and the sporting talent is just unbelievable and so much of it goes unnoticed." "By developing this sporting league were hoping it could potentially lead to pathways for some of these talented children - and theres certainly a lot of them out there," Andrew says. 24.01.2022 The Brigades Football Club is thrilled to announce Daniel Leach (Leachy) and Cory Foot (Footy) as Co-Coaches for the league side for season 2020. Cory comes to ...the club after 10 years of playing League football for Railways, where he gave us a lot of headaches trying to limit his impact in front of goals. Cory has admired our young talent coming through the juniors and Colts, and excited to help develop them into league players. We look forward to seeing what Cory has to offer, bringing an extensive amount of football experience and knowledge. We welcome Cory and his family with open arms to our footy family, and look forward to an exciting year. Daniel is returning to the club after a very successful stint with Subiaco in the WAFL. Daniel suited up 53 times for the Reserves and broke his way into the powerhouse League side 9 times. Whilst playing at Subiaco, Daniel had both team and individual success. He was apart of the 2018 Reserves premiership, as well as receiving individual honours by winning the 2017 & 2018 Blackemore Medal (Subiaco Reserves Fairest and Best), and the 2018 Prendergast Medal (WAFL Reserves Fairest & Best). Daniel is excited to come home and share the knowledge he has gained during his time at Subiaco. We welcome Daniel back to our club and are very excited to see him take another step forward on his football journey.
