22.01.2022 Who remembers their first meal after labour ? . Gawd, I was so starving I couldn’t wait to eat. . Back 39 yrs ago I got a sandwich n a cup of tea . ... But ..... after my Homebirth my mum and dad came over with pizza, which the whole family enjoyed around the bed. . I still remember the love I felt sitting up in bed with my new baby and our 3 little girls looking on in awe and me eating pizza BLISS See more

22.01.2022 I just love this The birth of a new baby , no matter which baby, is paramount in birthing a new you. . . This was so true for me, with transitions I didn’t see coming .... which were positively life changing

16.01.2022 Unlearning was the best and bravest step I took when I became a home birth midwife . . . I had to let go of my fear based hospital practise and learn even more to deeply to trust my intuition and listen to my birthing mums. ... . . . So yes , there is a school of unlearning. It’s called LIFE See more

15.01.2022 Hump day laugh if I didn’t laugh I wouldn’t be sane

11.01.2022 Such a special day yesterday hanging out with no. 1 grandson @tyler_kp . Love you long time Tyler

05.01.2022 This sums up motherhood nicely. . . The struggles of a new mum are often not seen or understood by family and friends .... . And often a new mum can’t see how depressed and helpless she’s become until a well meaning friend points it out. . . This happened to me I didn’t know I had postnatal depression. I was so sleep deprived with 3 girls and a new baby that didn’t sleep. I kept pushing through, being a super mum ( not ) ,but my world was falling apart with sick children and my baby got sick and my husband ( bless him ) couldn’t even breathe right . . It really does take a village to raise a mother and the new baby . . If help is offered and it feels right , take it. . . When I was finally diagnosed, friends and family came out in abundance with support. And I took it with both hands and a very grateful open heart . . You aren’t alone mummas. .

05.01.2022 This so true. Just like giving girls a truck or car to play with #fullcirclepostpartum

04.01.2022 Your emotions are a very powerful barometer of what you need mumma . Listen to them and ask for the appropriate help. . Yes it’s not always easy, so use your emotions as a guiding light

03.01.2022 It feels like Groundhog Day for a new mum . Just know this will pass, but life as you know it will never be the same. .... You’ll have more heart warming moments than you could ever imagine. Yes, and there will be challenges Embrace this time, it’s over all too soon

03.01.2022 This is so true. The same as giving girls trucks

03.01.2022 This is so true for all newborns . . The comfort of being close to their mumma, to hear her voice, her heart beat even her gastric rumblings is a great source of comfort to a newborn .... You won’t spoilt your baby by holding them too much , you’ll reassure them they are loved and safe See more
