19.01.2022 YANKXIT: defined as a Yankee Brexit. When a beat-up pulls down the blinds.

18.01.2022 For all lovers of good food.... Midyim Eco Produce grows Spanish green peppers. A big part of his business is supplying restaurants...and guess what? That's not... happening now. But, you can get them sent in the mail (this is my yearly treat to myself, ever since we discovered his business whilst operating L'Anxaneta in Killcare). I, selfishly want Richard to stay in business, so if you ever wanted to try them, or if you have tried them but didn't know that you could get them in Australia, contact him and get yourself some. And share the word. https://www.midyimeco.com.au/ Also, Richard sends some pretty funny, once-a-year emails when the crop is ready, worth the read ;-) See more

13.01.2022 This variety was once well-known in Spain, and especially highly regarded in the coastal region of Valencia (eastern Spain), from whence it hails. (Mutxamel, or Muchamiel, is a village, now more of a suburb, just outside the city of Alicante.) Flattish in shape, with deep vertical furrows and a coloring resembling the Raf (to which it is related), tomatoes of this variety can often reach impressive size. Local spanish restaurants use them in a simple salad, dressed with extra virgin olive oil and salt, for which they charged a high price. Oddly, given the high regard in which the variety is held locally in Spain, it has been allowed to decline almost to the verge of extinction.

12.01.2022 Hi guys! We are at the Brisbane West End Farmers Market tomorrow. Get excited for Midyim Eco's surprise Christmas bonuses!! Come along and grab some delicious peppers for Christmas feasting. They would be excellent for a gift or for the table. Cya there!

10.01.2022 The Raf tomato variety was obtained by selecting and crossing different breeds of tomatoes & is from in Almería, Espana, from where 30% of the tomatoes consumed in Europe come. In this Spanish region, the combination of sun and soil salinity gives these tomatoes their unique characteristics. The name comes from the acronym of "Resistant to Fusarium (fusarium is a type of fungus that affects the tomato) and this explains its wide distribution. It is also known as "pata negra t...omato." The fruits, green and striped with red, with deep grooves, are fleshy and soft, juicy and sweet. Unlike other varieties of tomato, the ripening process occurs from the inside out. So the best time to buy them is when Raf tomatoes begin to display orange streaks on the green skin. Everything is a matter of taste: as it matures, the reddish streaks on the green skin become a deeper red. The flavour is equally delicious, but you will sacrifice some of the crisp texture. The Raf tomato is great raw: just cut it into slices, following the grooves, add a pinch of salt and a dash of extra virgin olive oil and it's ready..
