25.01.2022 PC made from parts. I assembled this computer using various components. Even though it has got quite an old processor, but it is still capable enough to process typical office applications. Along with this, it can be quite handy for students or for basic web browsing. Do you need a computer, but don't have a budget for a new one. Don't despair. I can build one for you at your price. Please contact me on 0401 756 365 or send an email to [email protected].

25.01.2022 60" Sharp 3D LED TV brought back to life. It took only around 10 days for the part to arrive from overseas, but the wait was worth it. When the owner was tossing between whether he should get this TV fixed or purchase a brand new, I offered to repair it. Often people wither away from seeking repair services because of the steep service charges in Australia. We, as an IT and consumer electronics hub, want to help the consumer by offering a reasonable price so that they can enjoy their favourite gadget. Have you got something which needs fixing? Let us know, we will endeavour to make your device blooming with life again.

24.01.2022 Facebook Market Place. Is this really an excellent place to purchase products? I don't think so. In my opinion, people just want to get rid of their stuff. Most of the sellers don't care about being honest. The description and the pictures of the product they show are not good enough. It appears that they want to sell an item, which may have been sitting in the shed for a long time or they may have picked it up from a nature strip. Without adequate information, a buyer can ...make a wrong decision and end up making an incorrect purchase. On the flip side of the coin, some buyers (especially teens, sorry to be so precise) are not genuine either. Most of the buyers on Facebook Marketplace platform are deceptive. These people don't have a concern for others. Since there is no agreement set for seller and buyer, people take things for granted. I love how eBay works, but unfortunately, it's losing its popularity. Obviously, people don't want to lock themselves in making prepayments for the purchase. To conclude, I would like to say that next time when you find something interesting to buy. Please make sure you read the description and if in doubt, ask the question.

22.01.2022 Create your project server on your home or work PC. Are you a web developer looking for a free opensource platform where you can test websites and applications for your clients? You dont have to seek a cloud service for this. Do you know you can set up a personal web server on your local computer either at home or work? It entails no extra cost. This solution achieved by using MySQL and PHP installed on Windows or Linux based machine. Once everything configured, you can ins...tall Wordpress (or any other) CMS on the local PC. Now you can start developing website/applications for your clients and test them without paying a single penny to a service provider. When the client approves the design, you can upload the website on to a live host. I use the above approach for my clients. It is beneficial and has zero overhead. If you are a student or a developer and want to deploy a similar structure, then I am only a call away. M: 0401 756 365 E: [email protected]

18.01.2022 How to turn a vintage stereo into wireless jukebox? All you need is a Logitech Bluetooth adaptor priced around $40 to $50 mark. Connect one end of the audio cable to the rear of your stereo's AUX input, and the other end with an RCA jack goes into the Bluetooth adaptor. Once everything is plugged in, on your mobile phone/laptop/iPad/tablet search for this device in your Bluetooth list. On successful discovery, you need to pair both the devices using a passcode which you can f...ind in the user's manual. With your Bluetooth adaptor connected, open windows media player on your computer and press the "Play to" icon on the right-hand navigation. Under the "Play to" you should see Bluetooth adaptor which you paired earlier. Click the button to establish the connection. On your mobile phone, there should be a "CAST" button to enable streaming. Bingo! That's all you need to make your old stereo wireless friendly. Not sure how to do it. Don't worry, I am here to help. I can guide you for FREE. Please call me on 0401 756 365 or send an email to [email protected].

17.01.2022 Checking the audio quality of the Panasonic stereo. Playing an audio CD by Michael Jackson.

17.01.2022 Water damaged laptop successfully repaired. My client spilt liquid (coffee, I think) over her laptop while driving. She managed to open the bottom cover and tried to dry spillage, but the computer had died on her to her despair. Once she got the news about the resurrection of her device, she was so delighted. I was proud of making my client so satisfied and saving her unnecessary expenditure in purchasing a new laptop, which she was thinking. There is no harm in taking a second opinion of getting your damaged device repaired.

17.01.2022 BSOD (Blue screen of Death) If your computer is showing BSOD, it doesn't mean it's dying. There are a lot of factors which cause this problem. It could be due to a recent software/driver install or misconfiguration. At other times the culprit can be a faulty hardware component. Whatever it is, it can be fixed without spending a considerable fee. Have you got this bugging message flashing on your screen and you are not sure what to do? Well, I am here to help. Call me today on 0401 756 365 or send an email to [email protected].

14.01.2022 My new project: fixing backlight problem (and software issue as well) on Philips 40" monitor! I picked up this monitor from my client last year in December just before the COVID19 arrival. Since then, being busy with other stuff and the client not too fussy of getting it back soon, I dumped it in my laundry. Today, I put this patient on the benchtop and disassembled the unit. On taking apart the delicate LCD panel, I found a few blown up LED's (as shown in the picture with a black marking) used for the backlight operation. Unfortunately, I don't have the replacement part. So have to put it back in the larder (I put gadgets instead of food in this room ) with the other stuff until the new component arrives from overseas. In the meantime, see my other posts and send me a message if you need any help with your problem device.

13.01.2022 A six-month-old laptop still under warranty suffered screen damage.

12.01.2022 Lenovo Yoga screen replacement. This notebook came in for touchscreen replacement. I can't describe the condition it was in when I received it from the client (I should have posted some pictures). It had been badly tempered by unqualified personnel previously. Whoever tried to do the repairs rendered the notebook in a terrible condition. Most of the original screws were replaced by non-standard ones, and tiny plastic locks were either broken or cracked. The chassis is physica...lly tempered. Wrong adhesive tapes were used in installing the touchscreen. Excess usage of the heatsink compound led to improper heat dissipation. In a nutshell, the notebook was only good for salvage. As always, I undertook the risk of repairing this notebook. Unfortunately, I couldn't restore it to the original looks due to missing and broken parts, but my workmanship will be definitely evident by the client. DIY can often save you on the hefty bills, but does it necessarily mean that you have done the job correctly? Are you sure the problem will not reoccur, or something else will not pop out due to improper handling or reassembling the device? If you got a notebook with a broken screen, then don't fright. I can fix it for you at a price which you will appreciate. Contact me today for advice. Adi-Mieux Solutions. M. 0401 756 365 E. [email protected]

10.01.2022 A cell size of a coat button can bring your computer down. Believe it or not, this cell which is merely a size of coat button can make your PC/Laptop dead. It is also called a BIOS (Basic Input Output System) battery. It supplies constant power to the BIOS chip, where all the hardware settings are stored. The life of this battery is usually 3-4 years. When this goes flat, the first thing you will notice is that on every boot your computer's date and time is reset. On rare occ...asion, the PC may not start at all. If your computer is not powering up, don't panic. It may only have a dead BIOS battery. You can easily buy this CR2032 3Volt cell in any supermarket for under $10. Don't worry, your data on the hard drive remains intact as this problem has nothing to do with it. Not sure how to open the case of your computer. Don't despair. Call me on 0401 756 365 or send an email to [email protected].

10.01.2022 Another receiver fixed and ready for sale. A while back I'd put a post about how I was trying to repair a Pioneer receiver. Well, that is now successfully fixed, and it will be put on for sale. The fault was an open capacitor and a resistor due to which there was no audio output. I didn't have the exact value resistor (12K 1/4 watt) in stock but did have 10K and 2K. So, what I did is coupled both in series to make 12K. There was a bit of hissing noise after replacing the resi...stor. On further diagnostics, I noticed a capacitor in the series had a very high ESR value, or in laymen's term, I should say it was open. A new cap fixed this issue and the receiver is working as good as brand new now. I have got Pioneer BD Player and tower speakers in my store. If these are compatible, I will make up a package deal and put it on for sale. Do you want to own this system? Please let me know if you want more information. Call me on 0401 756 365 or send an email to [email protected]

09.01.2022 "Bulged caps" a common symptom found in most Plasma & LCD TV's An LG 50" Plasma had a start-up problem. The unit was stuck on the red LED. On opening the rear case, I spotted some bulged capacitors in the power section. Luckily, I had all the replacement parts in stock, so it took only 30 minutes to rectify the issue. If you have a device which is stuck on the stand-by light, it may have a similar problem. I can fix it for you. Please call me on 0401 756 365 or send an email at [email protected].

09.01.2022 A dead stereo to be scrapped brought back to life. The mission has been successfully accomplished.

08.01.2022 Why is my computer so slow? It's so annoying when the laptop/PC suddenly decides to slow down for no valid reason. Those moments are even more frustrating when you want to show your client a presentation, and your device stops responding. You wonder why is this happening because you were sold the top of the line device a year ago. Is it suppose to last only 12 months? No. There are many factors which may slow down a computer. Some are fixable by tweaking software settings wh...ile others need component replacement. Whatever the case, we need to identify where the problem lies in the first place. To do this follow some simple steps as per below: On an affected computer (ex. Windows 10), open the Task Manager by pressing the key combination CTRL+SHIFT+ESC or place the mouse pointer in an empty area on the Taskbar and press the right button. From the menu select Task Manager. It will open the Task Manager window showing different system resources. All the resources show in %. Your primary focus should be on the CPU, Memory and Disk. (a) If the processor is hovering around 80 100% most of the times then it indicates the running application needs more resources which the installed processor can not handle. In saying that, if you notice that the system is in idle mode and still the processor % is high, then it could be a maintenance issue. The ventilation in the case may be blocked or something else. (b) In the memory section, if it is showing over 70% all the times. It is an indication of RAM upgrade. During the high % of memory usage, you will notice that the disk usage will increase as well. (c) Finally, if the disk section sticks to 80 to 100% most of the times, then you know what to suspect, i.e. hard drive needs replacement, or you need to free up more space. The above steps are for basic troubleshooting which you can perform yourself. Fiddling with the repair/upgrade works may not be your trait, but it will at least give you an insight into why things are behaving strangely. I hope the above article was helpful. If you have any suggestions or comments, then please send an email to [email protected].

08.01.2022 Pioneer receiver partially repaired. I got this receiver from an ex-workmate. It was completely dead. Generally, Pioneer receivers have built-in error codes, which display on the front panel by pressing a combination of buttons. Unfortunately, this trick didn't work on this unit. On troubleshooting further, I found some faulty resistors in the secondary section of the power supply. After replacing these the receiver turns on, but there is no audio output. I wonder what else could be blown. At the moment, I am not bothered with the repair, but I will surely fix it soon. Till then keep following up on my other works. If you need some advice, then please don't hesitate to contact me. Send me an email at [email protected]

08.01.2022 OLD is GOLD No matter how light-weight and cheap the new technology is, it certainly can't beat the good old heavy-duty electronics of the past years. Have you got a "Made in Japan" device which is not working anymore? I can restore it for you. Call me on 0401 756 365 or send an email to [email protected].

05.01.2022 What the heck is this? This is a Fuji Xerox colour laser printer. I took it apart in an attempt to repair. It was causing a lot of issues every now and then. The worst was the noise while printing and the other was fading print quality. I literally did reverse engineering on it by taking every single component apart. It took around two hours to do the servicing and put it back. Although my efforts made the noise level to a bare minimum, there was no improvement in the print... quality. Later on, I discovered that the Cyan drum had worn out. To replace it, I would have to re-open pretty much everything again. Is it really worth it? Na. You can't win 'em all!

03.01.2022 A faulty TV may be a call for an upgrade, but don't discard it just because it's not behaving. It may just need some tweaking or software upgrade. And if it is a hardware related problem then don't despair we are here to help. Our charges are very reasonable. If we can't fix it, there is no fee. Please send details about your faulty equipment, and we will advise you next step. [email protected]

02.01.2022 Pioneer plasma beyond repairable. Sometimes it's better to discard electronic items which are not worth repairing. This 50" Pioneer plasma had a very robust circuitry, which would have been worth owning it. Unfortunately, the ribbon cable which connects the PDP to the buffer board was slightly cracked. This cable is replaceable, but from the age and features of the TV point of view, it was a waste of time. So, the television is sitting in the garage for the next hard rubbish collection.

01.01.2022 A simple upgrade can bring your PC back to life. If your computer slows down, simply don't get rid off it. Like humans, machines also need a bit of care. Don't worry about our service charges are very reasonable. If we can't fix it, we will not charge anything.

01.01.2022 Screwed up Yamaha receiver restored. My neighbour gave me his receiver to look at it. He fiddled up with the circuitry in a hope to fix it. In doing so, he might have screwed up even more. If you don't have any knowledge about electronics, don't try to touch it. There aren't any serviceable components inside a receiver. The high voltage can kill you. Since the set was already tempered by an unskilled person, I was tossing to pursue my repair work. As usual, I couldn't stop m...yself to dismantle off all the PCB's. As the set was completely dead and it wasn't in the protection mode, it was hard to ascertain which section could be faulty. During the first step of visual inspection, I found a chip in a DSP section had corrosion. Apart from this, a 5volt regulator was short on the main PCB. I replaced the component, resoldered the chip and removed dry solder joints. It took me under 30 minutes to put everything back together. And voilà, there you go, the receiver turned on without a glitch. The story concludes that never play with electronics without prior experience and skills. Otherwise, you can be electrocuted. And the worse is that you may render the device beyond repairable. I can fix your gadget at a price which you will be happy to pay. Call me on 0401 756 365 or send an email to [email protected]
