11.01.2022 What advice can we give our kids about handling gossip and drama at school? Here's some advice I'll be sharing on Monday night in my 'How To Avoid Drama Cyclon...es' webinar. (Click here to register: https://rebeccasparrow.com/drama-cyclones-live/ ) I want you to adopt a personal policy of: gossip ends with me. That's it. When you hear a story - YOU don't pass it on. When those around you start sledging someone - YOU don't get involved. When a photo or screenshot is sent to you without the owner's permission -- YOU hit delete. When you adopt personal policies - -it takes the decision making away for you. It becomes simple. YOU don't do it. Gossip ends with me. * Thanks to author and habits expert Gretchen Rubin who discussed the power of personal policies on her Happier podcast.

11.01.2022 Looking for an after school activity for Term 1? We have a limited spots left on Tuesdays for Mighty Kids and Thursdays for Kids Club. Contact Katie for details

09.01.2022 Teacher (n.) tee-cher: A multi-tasking educational rockstar who lives to inspire and loves to encourage. They’re kind of a big deal. My whole world is surrounded by teachers and teaching has been part of my whole life.... Mighty Me is what it is because of my teaching experience and the passion I have for mentoring others. Happy World Teacher’s Day to all my colleagues, past and present, who continue to inspire me every day.

08.01.2022 THIS We need to start educating our children about the importance of mental wellbeing - just like we do with exercise, healthy eating and wearing sunscreen. Kari Sutton An excellent book written in an easy style that I believe every parent and educator, interested in promoting children’s positive mental health and wellbeing should read. Thank you, Kari Sutton for putting together such a useful resource for parents.... I knew this incredible woman was more than just a dear colleague of mine for a reason... neither of us knew at the time, but we were headed in the same direction, championing wellbeing for children beyond the classroom. 08.01.2022 Here goes! I never post videos to my page and thought I’d better change that. Our Term 1 programs start next week and bookings are now open. Here’s all the info to help you choose what program is best for your family. My celebration for this post is that I did it! My challenge to improve for next time is to not talk so much (this will be no surprise for those of you who know me) and to use a different platform so the visual and audio stays in sync

06.01.2022 Mighty Me online programs in Term 2. Bookings are open now and sessions start next week.

04.01.2022 When the kids we care about are having a tough time or exhibiting challenging behaviours, it's better to connect with their hearts than appeal to their heads. T...hey aren't able to reason when they are experiencing overwhelming big emotions and simply need us to connect with them so they feel safe. See more

03.01.2022 Mind Jars Today during our Mighty Kids session we experimented with a range of mindfulness strategies to find some activities that we enjoy. These resources and ideas can support us if we are needing to wind down or reset because of a big emotion. Creating a Mighty Toolkit to support us when challenges arise is one of the proactive steps in our @mightymeprogram Mind jars are a great visual and teach us about what our brains can be like during a big feeling or an overwhelming task. The swirling glitter acts as our thoughts when we give the jar a shake up. As the liquid slows down, the glitter swirls around the jar which can guide our breathing. Slow and steady belly breaths while watching the mind jar can help us stay calm and, as our Mighty Kids say, it’s soooooo satisfying!

03.01.2022 Happy Birthday sweet girl! Jersey loves our Mighty kids and our families love her too. She is such an important part of our program and hangs out with us, whether we need some ‘zoomies’ for a bit of cheering up or some gentle pats to help us relax, she just seems to know what we need. Thanks for being by my side for the last 6 years Jersey girl, you are the best friend a girl could ask for, even if you still hate it when I dress you up
