17.01.2022 Mistakes in your tax return can slow it down. Common mistakes include missing or incorrect details about wages, bank interest, private health insurance or government payments. If you wait until late July, you’ll find most of this info already in your tax return. The result? Less time spent on lodging, and mistakes and delays avoided. 10.01.2022 With easing of Covid 19 restrictions and Covid Safe practices in place the Thursday Group has returned! There were familiar and new faces in attendance at the Harmony building in Mowbray, and as always attendees decide what to do. By far the most popular choice is practicing written and spoken English with a great team of Volunteers on hand to assist. Our resident videographer, the multi-talented Obeth, was on hand to capture some moments. And a nod to Hari for her amazing kn...ack of bringing people together. If you would like to join the Thursday Group or start your own group call Beyond Limits on 0409 926 321. Your group can be what you want it to be. It can be as informal or formal as you like and the Beyond Limits team can support you along the way. You may want to practice your English or discuss topics of interest. Beyond Limits can also arrange information sessions. You decide! We are particularly keen to hear from people, families and carers living with disability. Beyond Limits is funded by the NDIS Information, Linkages and Capacity Building Grant.

09.01.2022 United in Pink! Increasing awareness of early detection of breast cancer within CALD communities. Women in the CALD community recently joined MRC's Thrive program to sew together pink fabrics for women to use in different ways. The first group of women, from a Farsi background, made beautiful scarfs that they wore to an information session with Breast Cancer Screening Tasmania . ... The next group will use the same scarfs but sew them into their own ethnic clothing (e.g. Sarees) and so on with future groups. At the conclusion the scarfs will be presented to community members to begin a new life and be an ever present reminder of breast cancer awareness. The goal of MRC's United in Pink is to encourage as many women as possible to undergo screening for breast cancer. Breast Cancer Screening Tasmania can provide transport for groups of women to and from the screening location. So far, 30 women have signed up for test! If you would like more information on the screening or sewing please call MRC on 6332 2211 and ask for Gabriela.
