25.01.2022 Araucaria Falls hike from the Goomburra section of Main Rang N.P., a relatively easy 3.2km return hike starting from the car park along the lookout rd.
24.01.2022 Lower portals to the junction and beyond, phone pics.
24.01.2022 Creek below middle kobble creek falls.
24.01.2022 Another trek out to the piper Comanche wreck and beyond @ mt Glorious.
24.01.2022 Drone flight over the Lower Portals
23.01.2022 Out to Paddys falls and yellow pinch lookout at Mt Barney N.P today, most of mt Barney is still signed as closed due to the fire dangers which has now passed so I guess theyll send someone out soon to remove the signs and chain which has closed the Lower portals rd. However Yellow pinch is open and Paddys plain was accessible so I spent the day exploring around those two spots. With all the rain it was really nice to see the waters flowing again.
22.01.2022 Lower Portals to Barney falls and return via Cleared ridge track, going up to the cleared ridge from opposite the falls is doable but Id recommend going further upstream to the junction before heading up its far easier and at least there is a vague trail to follow.
22.01.2022 Mt Greville sunrise hike. Situated next lake Moogerah is Mt Greville, at only 720m it isnt the tallest peak around but its definitely worth exploring with several routes to the summit. The tracks are not marked but theyre well used and easy enough to follow for those with a good sense of direction, the palm gorge route can be a bit dicey with larger crowds as rock falls are likely.
20.01.2022 At around 5.4kms return the walking trails at Crowsnest N.P are an easy enjoyable walk, however at the moment it is still extremely dry out there and in need of some good rain.

19.01.2022 A birds eye view from the drone really puts things into perspective, I trekked a fair way past the piper wreck towards Muscat creek, however once I got the drone up I realized I had a fair way to go to get to Muscat creek falls. I think this may be a better hike from South Kobble creek camp.
19.01.2022 Northbrook gorge is very dry at the moment, with the creek at just a trickle the bigger pools are a bit murky.
18.01.2022 Greenes falls at Mt Glorious. Maiala park is still closed but you can still access Greenes falls via Browns rd, the walking distance is still similar 4km+/- return depending where you park, and if you park along Mt Glorious rd be cautious as there are quite a few Gympie Gympie stinging trees next to the rd.
18.01.2022 Northbrook Gorge.
18.01.2022 Bunya Mountains. There are plenty of walking tracks around Bunya Mountains but at the moment the waterfalls aren't flowing due to the lack of rain, It's a great place to camp though.
17.01.2022 Theres no official track here but the more adventurous explorers would enjoy this trek. I thoroughly enjoyed it, there are a few waterfalls to navigate on the way down to reach the top of love creek falls so its best done in dry weather.
17.01.2022 Northbrook Gorge is getting very busy now with the weather warming up, amazing to see it still flowing a little with the lack of rain we've had.
17.01.2022 Exploring Neurum creek, with the recent rains the water here is only just flowing , some decent rain is needed to flush the creek out after that this'll be a neat waterhole to enjoy.
15.01.2022 Maiala to below Greenes falls.
15.01.2022 A very warm hike out at Crowsnest N.P today, things are looking greener but there's still a lack of water in the creek and worst of all no Rock wallabies in sight again, they have always been the biggest drawcard for me better luck next time.
14.01.2022 Greenes falls and the following set at Maiala Park Mt Glorious. The track ends at the top of Greenes falls from there its off track along the creek, it can be a bit sketchy in the wet with no shortage of leeches and stinging trees so its best to take your time and keep safe.

13.01.2022 Northbrook Gorge is down to a trickle at the moment and still quite cold, but the snakes are we and truly on the move.

11.01.2022 Northbrook Gorge, still bitterly cold yet beautiful as always.
10.01.2022 Exploring the upper reaches of Northbrook Gorge.
10.01.2022 Crowsnest National park In wet times this place is absolutely stunning but at the moment its recovering from recent fires and is in need of rain.
10.01.2022 The water is flowing again down at Northbrook gorge
09.01.2022 For those who arent yet acquainted with the Gympie Gympie tree heres a closer look, I strongly suggest people get familiar with this tree especially those keen to explore Mt Glorious since there are plenty up there. This is a native tree and packs quite a punch, I have been stung by it in the past and these days I make a good effort to avoid it since the memory of the discomfort doesnt fade. Heres some more info on the Gympie Gympie... https://www.australiangeographic.com.au//factsheet-gympie/
08.01.2022 Approximate location of the Piper
07.01.2022 Wivenhoe lookout to White cedar park starting Laceys fire break with a detour up towards Redmans break and returning along switchback. Not an overly scenic hike being fire trails but with all the hills its great workout for the legs.
06.01.2022 The Lower Portals is just 7 over kms return from the car park, but real adventure begins at the portals. From above the lower portals you can either follow the track right and explore along the upper ridge or you can follow the track to the left and head downhill and follow Barney creek, today I went Right and explored the ridge a while before making my way down to Barney ck and returning along the creek. There is a path to the creek near the junction but I made my own way down just before. It is steep and requires caution but for people with experience its no problems.

06.01.2022 Above Mt Barney falls
04.01.2022 Some drone shots of the Lower Portals and Barney falls.
03.01.2022 The walking / riding trails at Wivenhoe hill have been re opened.
02.01.2022 Upper Kobble creek West branch arial view, There are a few small rock pools and water falls down here but at the moment due to the lack of rain theres only a trickle of water.
02.01.2022 Neurum creek upstream from Archer campground, no tracks here so it's slow going but will be worth the effort after a little more rain.
02.01.2022 Lepidozamia fire break to Middle kobble creek camp and falls. To the campsite near the falls is roughly 10kms return and its all fire trail so its easy to navigate but it does have some fairly steep in sections and the tracks stop at the falls, from there its actual bush walking/bashing along the creek which will be much nicer after some more serious rain.
01.01.2022 Mt Barney waterfall
01.01.2022 Northbrook gorge is still flowing nicely.
