24.01.2022 It's actually happened!! RevenueSA has finally sent the email that says they are open to taking applications for the $25,000 HomeBuilder Grant. This is fantastic, long-awaited news for some of you out there, but there is still one more piece of the puzzle to come. To make sure we can fully rely on it, we are still waiting for the lenders to let us know how they will view and use the funds in your application. Hopefully, this is also not far away. Stay tuned everyone and I wil...l update you as more info comes to hand. Have an amazing rest of the day.

23.01.2022 Government "Home Stimulus" Scheme. Right now, details are only just starting to be reported on. I've seen some of the details and my first feeling is that the criteria are quite restrictive when it comes to the renovations aspect. Building a new home looks ok initially. What we don't know yet is how the lenders will view the grant. That is a big question and until we get some info from the lenders, my suggestion right now is to just hold for a bit longer. It's an exciting th...ought and I'm keen to see how this pans out, but recent history has shown me that the Covid-19 handouts/stimulus have been thrown together and the lenders have been left with the mess of making their policies either fit or not fit. It's been a debacle in my opinion. Finance is slow at the moment in general so I feel like this is just another layer on top. Be patient and we'll work through it all together.

22.01.2022 Is Adelaide Budgeting a holistic service?

19.01.2022 Maintaining access to your own money. How is Adelaide Budgeting different in this space?

19.01.2022 I think this is pretty good advice. Why give up control of your money, only to have it completely taken away when someone else's systems are down. Your money needs your control and attention, with specific guidance and accountability sprinkled on top. If you do not educate yourself on how to manage your own money, you will not get ahead. Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach a person to fish and you feed them for a lifetime.

16.01.2022 To know thyself, you need to push thyself. Dean Karnazes @ultramarathonman Anything is possible when you put your mind to it. Even with an injury that’s been ...hanging around for weeks, the right mindset and management doesn’t mean you cannot keep pushing yourself. Get out there and keep smashing your goals. That’s was longest run yet! Super proud day. Now I need to make myself beautiful for family photos in a couple of hours. I know what you’re all thinking, that won’t be hard at all. UPDATE: Photos just cancelled again. Doh! #modest #distancerunning See more

07.01.2022 Today I am saying goodbye to my office base of nearly five years. My move isn't Covid-19 related. The Real Estate agent who I was renting off of has decided the time is right for them to slow down and head into semi-retirement mode. Good for them. So with that, I have to move on. I've had lots of good memories there and some bad ones, but that being said, I am looking forward to the next chapter of my self-employed journey. My contact details will remain the same, except for ...my office address. For now, all post will be redirected to my home address. So while we are in a limited face to face environment, I will see you all online for now and then when things ramp back up again and we can visit each other, i'll still come out to you all or we can hit up the local coffee shops and cafes and get them cranking again. Thank you and I'll see you all soon.

07.01.2022 One of the things I have noticed, even more so during the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown period, is that a lot of people would really benefit from having a solid budget in place. Not one that makes you feel constrained and locked away from your own money. One that highlights what needs to be paid and when and then what play money you have left over. That goes along side consistent saving and being able to be considered as , "borrower ready" with the lenders. I hope you get so...me value out of my video and I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. If you have any questions, please ask here as your question might be the same as someone else and they are too shy to ask, or someone might not have thought of it but it applies to them as well. As a community, I am here to help my clients and educate you all as much as possible. If you don't want to ask it here, that's fine, you can contact me directly as well. Enjoy. Thanks.

02.01.2022 How can a budget help when some weeks you might earn more income than others?

02.01.2022 CASH IS NO LONGER KING Looks like Covid-19 is changing the way we spend. ATM withdrawals this past quarter are down 12% from November levels across all income brackets. Have you noticed this in your own spending - are you using your card more rather than cash or have you fallen into the Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) schemes category? On average, the BNPL schemes are up 22% across all income levels. This is not good. IMO, using your card (and cash when deemed Covid clean) is still... ok, but please rethink BNPL as an option if you want to be borrower ready. According to Afterpay, the top categories during the Covid-19 crisis are: **Beauty - skincare and home pampering. Home office equipment and furniture. **Sportswear and leisurewear. Homewares. **Department Stores - Toys, games and books for kids. **Footwear - athletic. I was pretty shocked to see this. The ones I have starred, if you are looking to do any sort of borrowing, you need to avoid putting these items on BNPL schemes. They are purely discretionary and if you cannot afford to pay for them outright, do not use Afterpay. There could be a small argument for the other two if they are big-ticket items and they are "needed" rather than "wanted", but even then, lenders may not view this type of spending favourably. They do not like the BNPL schemes. Something to definitely keep in mind when getting borrower ready. A better mindset is to always save the money and spend it rather than want the items now and then worry about finding the money to pay afterwards. Who knows, having to save for it might make you realise you didn't need the item anyway. *Stats provided by Illion & AlphaBeta (part of Accenture).
