To understand why influence is important, I'd like to explore a couple of phenomenons with you: In 1995 there were about 250,000 business in operation. Jump forward to today and it's closer to 2,500,000 businesses in play.... We are in the midst of a tech revolution. Devices like phones and laptops have changed the power of how consumers make decisions. Influence is effectively influencing the mindset and the perception and value of other people you haven't met yet. 19.01.2022 Take your mind back to the last time you were browsing in a shop and you were asked the question, ‘Can I help you?’ by the sales assistant. What was your immediate reaction? Most likely, your guard went up and you replied, ‘I’m just looking, thanks.’... Being aware of the fact that most humans are suspicious of salespeople, we can then use it to our advantage. Even though clients may actively ask for your assistance, they will still have some level of cautiousness. That is why it’s your responsibility to make them feel at ease by telling them what they can expect when they’re interacting with you. Take the stress away for them; make interacting with you easy. If you have a four-step sales process and you are at stage one, let the client know they won’t be expected to make a decision about purchasing today. 13.01.2022 I was completely inspired by the true-life story of Harriet Tubman - a woman in the 1950s era that freed over 800 slaves. Not only did she risk her life by traveling hundreds of miles on every slave freedom journey trip (of which she did many times), but she ended up living to the ripe age of 91! Amazing to know what extreme circumstances people lived through. It helped me realise that I have no excuses for whatever problems I think I have.... Great Netflix movie, highly recommend it. 12.01.2022 Don't focus on being different, focus on being better. With working with so many business owners and showing them how to stand out and become the go-to person in their industry here's what we have found out... About 5-10% of what they do is UNIQUE. What if the trick to get good at was actually understanding what that 10% is and get better at packaging that up and sharing it with their audience? This involves getting better at a lot of things. If we can get good at really packaging these ideas up in the form of a range of products and giving them away for free at the front-end then they end up diagnosing the problem they didn't realize they had and, in turn, scales your time more effectively by having THEM come to YOU.

12.01.2022 There's 2 types of prospects - Active and Dormant. Active prospects are aware that they've got a problem. And they're typically the smallest portion of the marketplace. Conversely, dormant prospects are unaware that they've got a problem and they typically make up about 90 plus percent of the marketplace.... Going after active prospects who are aware they've got a problem tends to be a more competitive market where everyone is fighting you for attention. Why fight with the competition when you can start to get a different energy in the sales dynamic - stop having to sell yourself and have people come around who are primed, informed, and educated. Don't be like everyone else - start targeting the dormant market.

11.01.2022 What if I told you that publishing your ideas is the most effective way to scale any business? I’m often advising 100+ companies at any one time, what I observe is that if you don’t publish your ideas, it creates a lot of problems and bottlenecks in your business. Business owners who feel stuck are often spending a lot of time having conversations with prospects, repeating themselves from meeting to meeting. ... They set sales appointments where they have to explain their product and its benefits, while vetting the prospect to determine if they are a suitable client. They repeat this process for each sales call. It is time-consuming and it stagnates growth. Not to mention it’s bloody frustrating wasting time with people who don’t appreciate your value! It results in what I call excessive duplication - instead of the business owner's ideas being accessible and consumable, they have to keep showing up and sharing those stories with prospects one-by-one. 05.01.2022 One of the classic mistakes is making a pitch too complicated. I see business owners using fancy words and technical language, and as a result, people simply don't understand what they're trying to say. The impact being, the message and the sale is lost, because the prospect is left confused. So, how do you develop a pitch that makes money instead of costing money? There are two types of pitches - ... A present-focused Or future-focused pitch. The majority of business owners use a present-focused pitch. They talk about what they do and how they do it. For example, when Clarissa Rayward, Founder of Brisbane Family Law Centre, started working with us, her pitch was focused on helping people navigate the complexities of separations. It was present-focused. You could imagine any family lawyer with a pitch like that. Nothing distinct or unique about it. Conversely, a future-focused pitch talks about the outcome. It promises a destination - a result that will have a meaningful impact on the client’s life. For example, after going through some frameworks with us, Clarissa started pitching her service as ‘showing couples how to separate, stay out of court AND stay friends, she called this having a HAPPY separation. There are four things you can do to develop a future-focused pitch: Number 1 - You have to be very clear on who you serve. Your pitch should be personalised to your niche so that it piques the interest of your target market when they hear it. Number 2 - You need to articulate a clear destination or outcome that your product or service will deliver. What does success look like for your client? How will their business or life improve after you deliver your product? Paint the picture for them. Number 3 - Use meaningful language. If you understand the hearts and minds of your target market, you can use powerful language that will resonate with them. What is it that they want the most from using your product? How do they articulate their goals? Use their language in your pitch. Number 4 - Pitch it a 1,000 times. Practice makes perfect! If you get it right A future-focused pitch makes your competition irrelevant. And it becomes a real asset in your business. And, it’s the catalyst for making the founder of the business more valuable OUT of their business than IN it So, my question for you is your pitch present-focused or future-focused?
