21.01.2022 So finally my girlfriend let me teach her some self defence! Lesson 1. Distance management & Evasion (Long guard, evasive footwork, pivot steps, side steps, parrys, fades): In order to avoid any strikes or grabs in the first place, enabling one to verbally de-escalate or escape!

18.01.2022 Just want to say a massive thankyou to you all for the overwhelming support, especially to everyone who shared this page. Please note I am not like other trainers that will just push you through some random workouts for short term gains-your long term wellbeing, being able to move efficiently pain free & being able to maintain functional fittness for life, without assistance is my ultimate goal.

17.01.2022 One of my classes in huyton/dovecott area. Emphasis on athletic development (of which kids can benifit from for life), self defence, striking, throws/takedowns, restraining & escapes. Any shares greatly appreciated

14.01.2022 I have been trying to take my 6-month old son outside for 30 minutes a day to play in the sun and dirt. Early exposure to microorganisms in the dirt before the ...first year of life has been shown to significantly lower the risk of allergies, wheezing, and asthma in children. Early exposure to bacteria and certain allergens such as pet dander may have a protective effect by shaping children's immune responses in such a way that prevents allergies and asthma. This becomes very important in infants that have a genetic predisposition to allergies, eczema, or asthma particularly if a parent or sibling has one or more of these diseases. One study specifically found that wheezing was 3x as common among children who grew up without exposure to such allergens compared with children who were exposed before their first year of life. Intesteringly, exposure to allergens after the first year of life did not decrease the child's risk of developing allergies or asthma. In addition to exposing my son to microorganisms in the dirt, playing outside for 30 minutes has the benefit of light exposure which has been shown to prevent nearsightedness in children. Plus, vitamin D synthesis occurs if UVB rays are present. There are so many benefits from just a 30-minute playtime in the dirt outside. I'm really trying to make a habit of doing it every single day. Study link: http://www.jacionline.org/ar/S0091-6749(14)00593-4/fulltext

13.01.2022 The study, newly published in the journal of Neurobiology of Learning and Memory, finds that running mitigates the negative impacts chronic stress has on the hippocampus, the part of the brain responsible for learning and memory.

08.01.2022 Nice trail run on my lunch break there, get out & enjoy the sun! Personal fitness & martial arts sessions available with 17 years of experience & fully qualified. What are your goals?

02.01.2022 Love my weekly forest runs! To think I couldn't run for years due to old injuries but taught myself how to correct my own biomechanical problems and I'm now fitter at 33 than I was at 23. Whatever your personal fittness goals-i am confident i can help you achieve it..
