10.01.2022 While the roll out of this election has been a unique and evolving situation due to the current global health crisis, the fact remains that this is an important election and each and every vote will count. Whether you plan to attend the pre polls or post or call in your vote in the coming days know that I stand ready to hit the ground running in order to meet the challenges that our city is and will be confronted with now and into the future. My amazing team and I spent the w...eekend letterbox dropping the attached letter across our Division. While we managed to get most of it done, there are some areas that have not yet received the attached correspondence, but rest assured I will be making my way to you in the coming days. In the meantime, stay sensible and stay safe.

09.01.2022 For the past week, I have been working with and door knocking residents who had received notification for planned roadworks that would impact on their property/neighbourhood. This relatively little known piece of paradise is a sanctuary for some of our most precious wildlife and plant species. Given my experience working on and around infrastructure projects like the one proposed in this instance, I have been able to provide advice and support to our concerned residents. Thi...s video was filmed by a resident on Monday afternoon at his premises when he returned home from work. This is one of so many reasons why planning for Logan's future growth and adequately addressing the challenges brought about by previous development, needs to be careful considered. So many of our natural corridors and native habitat have either disappeared or are under ever increasing pressure. I have been massively impressed by our residents in Bahrs Scrub who have prepared a carefully considered response to council, detailing both the natural value of this location and provided what I believe is a viable alternative in this situation. I should also note, that I have engaged with Council in relation to this preliminary proposal and must admit that the Council officer was both helpful and considerate. I also appreciate Melissa McMahon MP and her office for meeting with me to discuss this matter and for expressing a willingness to assist us with respect to the State Governments input with consideration to and by DTMR if and when required.

08.01.2022 As our government has been rolling out a series of initiatives in order to manage the impacts of the corona virus (COVID-19) pandemic. Our community is being a...sked to maintain social distance and take a cautious approach to how we interact with each other in order to minimise the risk of infection. During this campaign we are experiencing higher numbers than usual for people attending pre poll and it is evident that there is an increasing level of anxiety amongst voters due to the inevitably close interactions bought about by campaigners attempting to get their 'how to votes' into the hands of electors. Additionally a large number of volunteers identify as people at risk and are themselves concerned by and because of this extraordinary set of circumstances. Today, the candidates for Division 6 met and agreed to a democracy table at the Beenleigh Pre Poll located at the corner of Harburg and Enterprise Drive. This is a table, specifically set up to allow for the display of each candidates flyer - available to electors to take should they choose to do so. In the interests of my family, friends, supporters and of course the community, I have taken the additional step of withdrawing myself and my volunteers from the pre poll and limiting unnecessary personal or close proximity interactions so as to reduce any risk and hopefully minimise the growing anxiety being faced by all. While any experienced candidate knows that this will put one at a disadvantage, the ethical position is simply to do the right thing regardless. My 'How to Vote' is available at the polls even if I am not.... but as always, I am happy to answer any questions you may have in relation to this or any other matter via the usual channels.
