25.01.2022 Let me introduce the real me... No bullshit and not selling a product, this is me! For those of you that are new to following me or don’t know me personally. Hey, I’m Mike ... Few things about me. I’m a proud Personal Trainer! I grew up always being the self conscious fat kid. I still have those fat kid tendencies, and definitely still have the same appetite. I was a lazy kid. I was told I had potential with sports and in school, but I was always did the bare minimum. I’ve made a lot of shitty choices in my life, and most of them led to me to being 17 years old and weighing 125kg! I’ve failed time and time again. I’ve given up thousands of times. I’ve cried at myself looking in the mirror. I’ve made myself throw up after eating too much. I’ve starved myself until I couldn’t physically or mentally function. If you can name a fad diet, then I’ve done it. If you can name a bad food habit, then I bet you I’ve picked it up. I have gone through every single struggle in the book when it comes to fat loss, and made some fucking horrendous mistakes in my life. But I wouldn’t change a single thing if given a second chance. My real experiences have helped to teach me life lessons. Now my mission is to help those people going down the same path that I’ve been on! This page is a reflection of my life with complete transparency and honesty. This is how I help anyone and everyone wanting to better themselves, and love the process of doing it. This is my life and what I do. This is me over sharing details. This is me taking the bullshit out of the fitness industry. This is me! I’m Mike, and I’m proud to be me!

20.01.2022 PURPOSE Are you training with a purpose? Are you looking to progress on a daily, weekly or long term basis? Going into the gym and heading straight toward your favourite exercises is all good and well, but are you purposely trying to do more than you have previously? ... INSANITY defined is performing the same actions over and over again and expecting a different result! Keep that in mind next time you walk into the gym and go through your usual routine Don’t get caught up in doing the same monotonous exercises, DM me for personal training and online coaching services to achieve REAL results

20.01.2022 You Can’t Fuck This Up! One of my favourite sentences from @syattfitness No matter what you do, you cannot screw it up, as long as you don’t quit.... You can overeat by 5,000 calories this weekend. You can miss training sessions. You can go off track with your diet for a month. You can do whatever you like, as long as you start again, you’ll be fine! Take time off, make mistakes, make bad choices. It happens, it’s a part of life and makes you wiser in the long run! As long as you try again and don’t give up, you’ve got this! This isn’t a rat race to look good for one summer on the beach. We train and eat for a lifetime goal. You’ve got your entire life to reach your milestones. Look at the big picture and where you want to be in 5 or 10 years, not just 8 weeks in the future. You’ve got this! Just trust yourself! Try and try again! I promise you, you can’t fuck this up!

19.01.2022 From 2017. No inspirational quotes or lengthy explanation behind this. Just putting these photos out there as accountability for myself. I made a promise to myself to better my mind, body and mental toughness to never take a step backwards to how I was. That’s how it’ll continue, adding fuel to the fire that burns in me to leave this scared, vulnerable and sad version of myself in the past #accountabilitymirror #canthurtme #takingsouls

17.01.2022 ISOLATION SNACKING 24/7? The majority of times that we overeat whilst at home comes from boredom rather than actually hunger. I hate hearing the line just stop and ask yourself, are you actually hungry or just bored?, because most of the time I’ll know that I’m bored but I’ll eat anyway.... While we’re stuck in lockdown, whatever your goal may be, it’s super helpful to set out a small checklist to keep yourself on track for those bored times: - Awareness of daily calorie needs - Eat at similar times each day - Centre every main meal around a quality protein source and at least a handful of fruit/veg - Keep your water and fluid intake high - Cook meals in bulk in advance to help you get through those bored & hungry moments - KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID. No need to be fancy and make your food look like it’s come from a gourmet restaurant, simple is usually effective. Don’t beat yourself up if you’re not making amazing progress right now. Take everything day by day and focus on getting better with your decision making and awareness. PROGRESSION NOT PERFECTION

14.01.2022 Investing in the right things will take you a long way

14.01.2022 Finding the right vibe Best thing you can do for your own growth, is to surround yourself with the right people and right vibes! Take a look at the people closest to you... you’ll probably see that you’re heading in a similar direction to them.... So are you helping each other grow, or are you spending time with wasteful people? It sounds super corny, but it’s so true that you need to be surrounded by people on the same wavelength as you. Be productive together, strive towards goals together, push one another, vibe and enjoy their company. Don’t be afraid to cut off people that don’t help you. Having strings attached to negative people will only hold you down. Find the right people and vibe out #motivation #gymmotivation #gymlife #trainingday #trainingmotivation #fitnessjourney #personaldevelopment #personaltrainer #fitnessgoals

13.01.2022 THERE ARE NO GOOD OR BAD FOODS! That’s my philosophy and I will back it until the cows come home. Context is a beautiful thing, and so with the right context any food can be useful.... A chocolate bar once a day might be useful for someone that’s dieting, and needs that chocolate to keep themselves sane and adhere to their targets. A handful of gummy bears might be perfect for someone ready to train and needs a fast-digesting carbohydrate before their workout. An occasional glass a wine at dinner might help to stop someone from restricting and restricting, then going on a big binge and giving up. Yes, whole foods will always provide the optimal and perfect amount of nutrients, and that’s what we should eat most of the time. But we want realistic, not perfect. Everything we consume can be optimal in the right situation. Throw away that old idea of good or bad and ask yourself is this optimal right now for YOU and for your goal?

11.01.2022 2015 2020 Advice that I wish I could have given my younger self... 1. You’re not going to progress perfectly week by week, you will have setbacks.... But that’s perfectly fine, each mistake and speed bump is another opportunity to learn. 2. Starting weight training will be the possibly the greatest thing you could ever do! 3. That number of the scale does not define you as a person. Your bodyweight does not matter, as long as you feel healthy and confident within yourself. 4. Learn! Use every book, course, person and podcast to learn. There’s only so much you can do by listening to instructions. But there’s no limit to your potential once you invest into educating yourself on training and nutrition. 5. Don’t stress so much. Life goes on and each day is a chance for you to better yourself. Slow and steady progression over the years will be the driving factor that will make you unrecognisable in the future. 6. Don’t forget to smile and appreciate the good stuff

10.01.2022 WHY ARE YOU NOT PROGRESSING IN THE GYM The act of following a set program and tracking your performance when training is a major hurdle I see for far too many people. Performance in the gym can be measured in a lot of different ways, but most accurately through reps performed, weight moved, and or efficiency of movements. ... And it pains me to see so many people consistently putting in hours and hours of genuine hard work in the gym without ever tracking their performance. Coming in and simply doing the same exercises and weight you normally use, is a sure fire way to achieve absolutely nothing. You don’t necessarily need anything fancy to track what you’re doing, but it is so important to have some type of structure and plan when you train, and not simply exercise for the sake of saying you worked out today. Whether it be becoming more comfortable with an exercise, loading more weight on the bar, or adding more reps, you should strive for progression of some nature. If you want to learn a new language or skill, you wouldn’t simply try to blindly hack it, you would have structure and steps to how you would do that. Why would you treat your training in the gym any differently? DM me for 1-on-1 PT and online coaching options

05.01.2022 Change my mind! Every single diet that exists on Earth only works because it puts you in a calorie deficit. Keto, Atkins, Paleo, Carnivore, Zone, 5:2, Low Carb, Low Fat, Intermittent Fasting, OMAD, the list goes on!... Whatever diet you can name, the principle behind all of them is to reduce the amount of calories you eat so that you lose fat. There’s nothing special about any individual diet, so why box yourself in to one specific diet? How about combining them all together? So that you’re eating whole foods, eating foods you love in moderation, not restricting, and not hating your life because you’re starving all the time Also known as just eating wisely, not a special diet. Fat loss only occurs when you burn more calories than you eat over a period of time. Not because of the time you eat or special pills. Please stop falling in the trap of following these fad diets because an Instagram model told you so in a sponsored ad

05.01.2022 No rants about training or eating today. With the way of the world right now, it’s really easy to get lost in your own mind. Our social time with friends and colleagues has been banned. Workplaces closing down, business folding and bills piling up for many unfortunate people. Set some time aside and take a step back to focus on your mental health. Have a real talk with yourself about how you’re going to get through this lockdown, set yourself daily & long term goals. Use thi...s time to slow everything down and plan ahead for what’s to come. Now if you’ve been feeling down in the dumps lately, don’t forget that virtually all of us have been as well. I know personally that I have had an awful time mentally in the past weeks since my workplace has shut. The gym wasn’t just where I work, it’s where I spent countless hours every damn day creating a business and friendships with people that I value more than they know. It’s ok to have these days, it’s fine to have these downs because the ups in life so much better. These feelings are temporary and getting through this time is going to build a lot of character. During this time I fear for depression and suicide rates, so please don’t forget to check on your friends & family. One small message can mean so much to someone that’s in complete isolation right now. Support each other and look after yourselves

01.01.2022 I don’t know... I’d be lying if I told you I was a guru with all the fitness knowledge in the world. I don’t have all the answers, and definitely don’t pretend to. That’s fine with me.... It can be a great thing to not know the answer to something, because it gives you the opportunity to go find out and learn something new. That’s how life should go. Always learning, always listening, approaching every situation like I’m an absolute beginner and ready for new knowledge #personaltrainer #gymmotivation #gymquotesdaily #fitnessmotivation #fitnessjourney #weightloss #weightlifting #wearefitnessaustralia
