21.01.2022 The 21st of November is Montgolfier Day and marks the first manned flight ever made 237 years More than 60 balloonists are in our beautiful region to celebrate this very special day in the aeronautical calendar. Prosecco glasses will be raised in the township of Milawa this Saturday as around 20 balloons and their crews take to skies over the King Valley to celebrate 237 years of manned flight.... The hot air balloon is the first successful human-carrying flight technology. The first untethered manned hot air balloon flight was performed by Jean-François Pilâtre de Rozier and François Laurent d'Arlandes on November 21, 1783, in Paris, France,[1] in a balloon created by the Montgolfier brothers.[2] (Wikipedia)(see full details of man’s first flight below) Montgolfier Day is celebrated all over the world by aviators and we are very pleased to be back in the tranquil King Valley to fly our balloons again said Paul Gibbs, Director of the King Valley Balloon Festival. 13.01.2022 A very big warm welcome to our newest member: Plough Inn Tarrawingee Currently Cate and Phil Lithgow are operating Wednesday to Saturday 7am - 11am for toasties & hot drinks ( takeaway only due to current covid 19 restrictions) But check out facebook as they are now offering PIZZA too- so pop on past and say hi.... . A bit of background info on Cate & Phil we are both Country folk who have been living in Sunbury for the past 20 years. Cate is a Gippslander and Phil is an old Wang boy who has family ties to Tarrawingee going back to the first settlers of the area. We are both family orientated and with 3 grown kids and 7 and counting Grandkids, we are looking forward to making sure the Plough Inn regains its place in the heart of the Tarrawingee community as a great family friendly pub.
