11.01.2022 To all club members, Please see below the statement released by the MBA. Unfortunately our presentations will NOT go ahead tomorrow either. ... The MBA has made the decision to suspend all basketball activities and close the Toyota Hothouse as of Monday 16 March 2020. This obviously includes all domestic competition, club training and junior heat training. Basketball Victoria has suspended all senior Heat Big V games. The MBA has made this decision on the recommendation of Basketball Victoria and Basketball Australia. Virtually all other Victorian Basketball Associations have made a similar decision. As this is a rapidly evolving situation, we would like to thank everyone for their understanding and patience as we work through this difficult period. This is a decision we don't take lightly and want to reassure the basketball community that we will continue to work with Basketball Victoria to ensure the health and wellbeing of our players, coaches, referees and staff are maintained. On current advice it is anticipated that this suspension will last for a number of weeks. Whilst the MBA will monitor the situation on an ongoing basis it appears unlikely that domestic finals games will be able to be completed. The MBA will commence preparations for winter season to ensure basketball activities can re-commence immediately upon the suspension being lifted.
