23.01.2022 Racing Victoria Off The Track Program Mildura Horse Trials Silvan - The Spraying Specialists EvA95 Horse Trials Class Congratualtions to Rhianna Shepperd on Wanna Thrill for winning the EvA95 class.... Rhianna had such a spectacular dressage score that she led the whole way and couldn't be caught even with one tiny showjumping fault - well done! 20.01.2022 IMPORTANT Due to today’s announcement by the State Premier Daniel Andrews, Eventing Victoria has, in consultation with the Organising Committees, cancelled ...the August 1st Off The Track Eventing Victoria Combined Training event across the nine venues. Although some of the venues were outside the metropolitan area, the regional ones felt going ahead was not desirable at this time. We would like to thank Off The Track and Horseland for their support of this initiative. Hopefully our six weeks of lockdown produces the desired outcome and we can return to competition in the Spring.

20.01.2022 To all our regular supporters, we are sad to announce the Mildura Horse Trials will not be running on the last weekend in July this year. As most of you know, #ifwecanwedo whenever presented with a challenge so we aren't ruling out rescheduling if this is possible later in the year. The organisation required to put this event on starts in Feb, requires financial commitment and many times more than the allowable number of people at this Covid time need to get together to g...et preparations done. Whilst we've been hoping and planning, it isn't to be in the same vein this year. This event within our small town relies on many generous sponsors who we just don't feel right asking for money from when many of these small businesses are suffering financially during this pandemic. Our small club cannot afford to run this event at a loss either. So, we are sorry and we are sad, as we are sure you are too. But it is how it is and we will remain adaptable and will endeavour to reschedule if possible. It may be on a reduced scale though but we'll keep you posted. #whoknowswemaypullsomethingofflaterinyear

11.01.2022 Well, if things didn’t quite go to plan at Dura for you, or they did and you want to step it up, our Pony Club is running an ODE on 15th September. Why not right? The course is in absolute fab condition, the weather and ground is great, just to name a few reasons. Now, you know the theory behind black and gold? Well this is similar, no frills, just same awesome grounds and weather, minus the stand-alone dressage comp, freshman’s SJ, 6 bar, shenanigans like Fashions off the Fi...eld, copious amounts of rugs and prizes and other stuff. It is a one day event, open to PC riders and limited amount of open riders with appropriate membership for insurance purposes (eg. EA). Different committee (Budgie will be burst by then and attending to infant duties) but same lovely service with a smile and relaxed atmosphere. Look on Mildura Alcheringa Pony Club Facey page for entry details. Comments here will not be monitored. This is just a public service announcement. It is the weekend before Mount Gambier HT (can’t wait for that) so may not suit everyone. Numbers will be capped anyway, as is run over one day.

Off The Track program aims to facilitate the placement of retired thoroughbred racehorses in second careers, and as a CCN1*S level horse trials winner, Jimmy O'Reilly is a great example of just how well that works. 07.01.2022 The Kate Attard Equine Freshman's Showjumping ring!! Without the great support of local people like Kate, it wouldn't be as easy to put on great warm up classes like the freshman's showjumping on the Friday before the Horse Trials proper. Horses and riders across all different grades took the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the arena and types of jumps they'd be jumping in the competition. Really, how cool is that? Or some just used it as another great schooling ...opportunity for their horse. I know I loved the freshman's courses so much that I replicated one of the lines in my HT round, oops, wrong jump order, elimination! Thank you Kate, for your generous support of our event this year. The feedback from competitors was that the freshman's was a great opportunity and lots of fun. We loved having you on the grounds, available for last minute treatments of horses who I'm sure really enjoyed and benefited from these.

01.01.2022 Here at Dura HT, we like to showcase our region's produce. Horticulture is the backbone of the Sunraysia region, and so thanks to Melville Lyons, a long-time PC dad, past committee member and dedicated PC family member, we have our unique citrus-infused ‘out’ elements in all grades, at the water jump. We feed competitors, volunteers, spectators and judges, with free fresh oranges and mandies during the event, and encourage those not in fruit-fly free areas, to take a bag or ...three home with them. Continuing the horticultural theme, is the spectacular footing of almond hull, on the xc course and in the huge dressage warm up area, with thanks to Olam, one of Australia's biggest almond producers with over 12,000 ha grown in Sunraysia. It’s a shame our event falls outside the table grape season, as I’d sure enjoy being fanned whilst being fed grapes by slaves (or PC kids).
