24.01.2022 BOATIES, dust them off, you may fish! You must have, maintain and carry with you a NSW border zone pass as well as anybody with you and you must distance if it is somebody not from your home. Note that this is only the case for border zone residents, regional Victorians may landbased fish only. Several visiting groups have been caught and fined for fishing inside the weir buoys and fisheries are well active in the area along with our Maritime officers just waiting to nail a V...ictorian so be safe. Golden Perch are firing below lock 11 and the weir, below lock 10, rock ledge at Flora avenue past Golden river caravan park and Apex bend. Plenty of fish and well sized, don't be greedy though, 5 a day or 10 as a possession limit, that includes your freezer. Yabbies are a real struggle with no regular supply locally or a field. Scrub worms by far are the go to with many complaining of poor quality local worms, you will not get a bad batch from us, that is a promise. Stocked Trout continue at Lake Ouyen favouring Powerbait over lures. Fish on and let's get back to some sort of normality. A great big shout out "Thank you for all those visiting us throughout the lockdown, it is much appreciated and has certainly helped us thru a very tough period worthy of forgetting" Cheers See more

23.01.2022 So here we go, LOCKDOWN take 2, YES you can FISH and CAMP and HUNT. To fish in NSW you need a permit, this means you cannot leave the border zone, Wentworth and Dareton police have told us they are not fining people if they have a permit. This week fresh stock of Remote Cameras, RP Breast Plates that we have not had for a while, Coleman chairs, Instant up tents and Gazebos, Camp cook grill, We are going hard trying to source FACE coverings (Tubes, Buffs, masks, call them what you like) More due to arrive tomorrow, more Tuesday, more Thursday, you will get one if you pre-order, many colours and many patterns due soon. Chunk of Shimano stock due in coming days. Tight lines and screaming drags

22.01.2022 Interesting times around the country and world, sometimes that 5 hour highway is just not quite enough, or is it?? Whilst the Southerner's attempt to flee, there are plenty here already, practice hygiene and spacing folks, it appears to be our only defence. Cod fishing is tough, few local reports this week, Golden perch on baits are responding below lock 11 and lock 10 and those brave enough travelling South have found plenty of Redfin in lakes and dams. This week White Crow ...Lures Assassin Spinnerbaits Cobb Cooker SHIMANO Australia Fishing Predatek Fishing Lures Venom Rods have supplied some goodies. COVID-19 update, Sunraysia river access & fishing restrictions. "THERE ARE NONE" entering the Murray river from Victoria, you must have a "Border entry permit for NSW" your category will be an "Interstate resident transiting through NSW" you must carry your permit and you must exit NSW via the most practicable direct route, that would be the same boatramp. Houseboaters same applies, you may not step onto NSW terrafirma but please do go fish within 50kms of home. Cheers See more

21.01.2022 SCRUB Worms, EURO's and finally YABBIES are in stock..... Yella's continue to be in good numbers, below lock 11, downstream from the weir buoys, rock bar near BIG4 Golden River Holiday Park and below lock 10 at Wentworth whilst several small cod as bycatch are coming from Nangiloc, unfortunately a few visiting anglers were fined this week by Fisheries for attempting to take small cod, it is closed season till December. Visitors to Bushman's Rest Caravan Park are finding Redfi...n in reasonable numbers. A few ODDBALL stock items arrived this week, SFT Australia Takumi Southern Bluefin lures, Rapala CD and Floaters for Ouyen Lake anglers, Profishent Tackle Vixen vibes are dynamite on Golden Perch. XMAS LAYBY open now, don't leave it too late, Adrenalin Skate SKOOTERS, SKATEBOARDS, ROD & REEL combo's, get in first. We have unprecedented supplier stock shortages so don't miss out. See more

20.01.2022 COVID has spared us Easter, light winds, sunny skies, low to mid 30's, large high barometer and near stable water levels will see the fish turn it on again. Skilled, in the know locals, have nailed several oversize Cod this week, off the top amongst them. Upstream anglers Nangiloc thru Wemen way are plagued with tiny Cod 30 - 40cm and hefty fines from fisheries. Redfin have been consistent in Lake Cullulleraine. Below lock 8 and 9 have had challenges due to water level fluctu...ation. Golden perch continue below lock 11 on Scrub worms and rattling lures. Stock top ups this week include, 13 Fishing Australia TX2, Concept a2 and c2 as well as Z slide, Alicia's Lures spared us some 110mm in awesome colours, Plano hard cases, bunch of JD Eddy Lures oprahouse nets, @predatek boomerangs, @coleman australia chairs and stretchers, SHIMANO Australia Fishing slx, tranx, curado. Mildura City Heart are hosting SHOW N SHINE easter friday and River 1467 Mildura have a guess the weight fishing competition on their website, hop on and support them. WE ARE YOUR LOCAL FISHING, HUNTING, OUTDOOR SPECIALIST, and proud of it. OPEN 9AM - 2PM OVER EASTER. Travel safe, knock your pegs in hard and tight drags. See more

18.01.2022 COD SEASON OPEN Tuesday, feral weather expected, better option Wednesday or Thursday? Our PHONE LINE is down but should divert next week, sorry, NBN stuff up. Scrubbies and Yabbies are awesome this week, almost as good as that cracka by Gareth last year. Cod dogs still on a truck somewhere but a few top ups below. Xmas layby is open. Keep cool!

18.01.2022 Something different this week with 2 products up for performance testing. Video will show SHIMANO Australia Fishing SLX DC baitcaster wallop out a Bespoke Lures prototype Paddler. Firstly very little wind was blowing and secondly absolutely zero thumb was used parking effortlessly then followed by a loud distinct splosh from the paddler. Both easy to use, both offer value for money, both able to deal with varying conditions. from us.

17.01.2022 Hi folks, 28c one day, 15c the next, as the season changes so too do Native fish, check this cover shot by Dain on a Morning glory Coddog Lures Expect to see bait balls of Boney bream and Shrimp on your sounders, expect also to see predators not so far away, it is a great time of year to fish sand bars, also to cast shallow diving lures amongst structure with anticipation of an active Native.... Last week Lock 10 kicked into life, after fluctuating water levels for weeks, they finally had to eat. Golden perch to 52cm and several keeper Cod amongst them. The Frenchman is belting albeit only to reduce salinity, that surely will have them navigating upstream as their tails will allow. Looking out to this weekend a large high is likely to form over us in lead up to the next New moon and a bit of a flow push so expect some frantic early morning action for those up and about with their surface lures in flight. Those travellers, Menindee has extra oversize Yabbies on the crawl (beer bottlers on the old scale), whilst down south Port Macdonnell has not kicked in hard for barrell sized Southern Bluefin Tuna just yet, it will soon. SA travellers will find plenty of solid size King George whiting (no seasonal closure this year) from Port Victoria down to Marion bay and Edithburg up to Port Vincent. In closing, several large Cod have been landed from Speedway bend down to Merbein common for those early triers and a big CHEERS to the fellas organising Fish The Fort well done and run. Stock top ups for us this last week include, Tonic Eyewear , Strike Force Lures Southern Cross Lures , Bespoke Lures , Australian crafted lures, Coddog lures, Wakesnakes, Zerek Australia Barambah Lures old style koolabung paddlers 70mm and 100mm, White Crow Lures , Alicia's Lures , long awaited Muldoon Mongs, Unleashed Lures and COBB Australia cookers. Happy camping and quality fishing. Kym Sykes See more

17.01.2022 THEY ARRIVED, MULDOON KING MONG, BIG MONG & shallows, not many but a great big shout out to Jason, thankyou, we know you are busy in life. Thanks for the batch.

14.01.2022 Computers hacked, Staff with family first priorities, systems disfunctional, big box chinese product stores opening, (most folk are suggesting just another import box store and prices 50 - 60 over our everyday prices) 800 surface lures arrived, 300 divers, yet we've survived, Southern Cross Lures Strike Force Lures HELP we need bigger walls. Keep a lookout for more coming, Coddog Lures @muldoon lures tomorrow maybe Monday? Or Tuesday? Great weather, great moon, fish hard and fish early.

12.01.2022 Some awesome early season colours there guys, well done, finish looks great

11.01.2022 Very quiet on the fishing front, uncertainty of border zone permits has not helped. Dareton and Wentworth police have told us they are not fining boaties as long as they have a permit. Golden perch continue solidly below lock 11 and lock 10 landbased. Lake Ouyen has had a flurry of activity on the recent Trout stocking, we have a great selection of hard and soft bodie lures and will expand that range. HEADWEAR has gone stupid with the COVID requirements now announced for face... coverings, we have been trying to source product for 4 weeks and have 600 of varying patterns due this week. Patterns pictured will trickle in over coming weeks, have us layby or you will miss out. Finally, we have some high quality Golden Perch (Yellabelly) print shirts coming, make a great Fathers day pressie for the brides and kiddies. Here's to hoping we are not locked down in our NW hub and please Premier block the roads below Charlton and Echuca See more

10.01.2022 Excellent Cod Season open reports, a different Gareth's mum featured this week along with a local from Carpet Tek Steve and a few new lure lollies to tempt. Several good fish over the magic metre were boated amongst feral weather and changing water since opening, 126cm the best we can confirm so far in our local pool. All on the troll and most on bright colours down deep, Merbein, Wentworth, below lock 9 featuring well. Golden perch still going strong on Scrub worms and Yabbies. This week our lost Coddog Lures have arrived and look great, Dinolures chatterbaits good value, Custom crafted Hammerheads very sought after, White Crow Lures top up, Yabby cooker pots amongst a lost pallet of camping gear, Adrenalin Skate boards in limited supply and finally some PFD's from Watersnake. Keep 'em neat, tight lines.

10.01.2022 Get a good cut at Hairklips, thankyou Ally

09.01.2022 So folks, Mildura City Heart Inc Traders Group how many Mildura businesses got hacked or scammed today we know of 4 on Lime, 3 are on icable. Haven't rec'd death threats or extorsion for millions yet. Screens gone blank, mouse non functional, no warning, hard drives intact all info still ok but non functional. Offline transactions tomorrow for us. Myob of little help. Cheers Kym

09.01.2022 YES you can FISH and HUNT. LOCKDOWN stage 3 continues for regional Victorians, you may travel locally for leisure and fish land based on the banks of the Murray River, you may also TRAVEL TO YOUR LOCAL lake or river in regional Victoria to fish. You can't stay overnight. If you are in and remain in the border zone you can obtain a NSW border permit, you can't use your houseboat for leisure or stay on it. Golden Perch have fired up below Lock 11 and 10, a lot of Silver perch (...pictured with Seb & protected) are amongst them. Jackall's or similar soft vibe & Scrub worms are working well, a smallish Yabby if you can find one will also do the trick. Water clarity remains feral and Cod have been finicky for those able to access waterways in the hope. Facemasks of many styles and patterns are trickling in, fresh batch of Assassin chatterbaits, Mohawks 130mm, Tassie devils & spinners for those tempting Lake Ouyen for the freshly stocked Trout. Stay safe See more

07.01.2022 Golden perch are going hard below lock 10, oversize Cod, lots of them up and down from Merbein with one unfortunate flapping on the surface at pump hill. Weather will be awesome this weekend, go get 'em. Oh, Coddog Lures have arrived and are hung along with Strike Force Lures Southern Cross Lures Bespoke Lures and plenty others now only MULDOONS to come and the wall is full. Reordering starts tomorrow

06.01.2022 COD SEASON, nope not yet and the Yella's are going hard. Scrub Worms the go to, Yabbies too. Solid 40's are common whilst many small cod have been carefully released as bycatch in the closed season. Water clarity is improving with anticipation of good weather for season open shortly, a good time to be checking your gear and boat reliability. Daily stock top ups are arriving despite unprecedented stock shortages. We should have something to please with White Crow Lures offeri...ng a good haul this week, Bespoke Lures have an awesome paddler added to range, Coddog Lures are in the post, Powa Beam top up, R.p. Breastplates are the real deal, Coghlan's Outdoor Accessories nic nacs, Coleman Outdoors premium lounges, Jackall Lures tn60, 70, 80 and doozers, Victory Knives awesome blades on these. SA border opens next week for the Crabbers and Whiting fisho's, we have bait & nets a plenty. For visitors to the region a quick shoutout of local businesses, All Seasons Houseboats are looking to fill cancelled trips, BIG4 Golden River Holiday Park grab a cabin, Apex RiverBeach Holiday Park for a night or 3, Mildura Paddle Steamers take a casual ride, Banjo's Bakery Cafe for a quick bite or latte. Cover piccys this week feature a guest and a local that travelled out of the region. These guys can sniff them out Darren Uren and Bree Shepherd Stay safe folks, practice distancing, keep a mask nearby and enjoy Sunraysia. See more

06.01.2022 Many solid fish to 116cm have been photographed and released recently near Speedway and downstream thru Merbein, several at Pump hill and opposite the ramp in the Merbein common. Many good fish are falling to Coddog Lures Log hoppers and our new colour Fool’s gold is proving itself and selling out fast. News from further out at Lock 9 and 8 is patchy and probably not worth the fuel while Nangiloc continues with hundreds of undersized fish. Cold mornings are just what the Cod ...Gods ordered, light winds and sunny days throughout this week and weekend, low to mid 20’s with very slight Easterly air flow and a high barometer will see many out and about with anticipation of an early and late bite. Surface presentations on cool mornings will arouse worthy opponents. Paddlers by Bespoke Lures and Barambah Lures, Wakesnakes by Strike Force Lures, Rats by Mudeye Lures and Spinnerbaits by Obsession spinnerbaits and Assassin Spinnerbaits kept up in the water column are sure to do the trick, come talk to us if you are unsure how to present these. Frenchman’s creek is belting and worth a drive for those into Golden perch, vibes by Jackall Lures will ensure a frantic session to be had out there when conditions are right. Please obey bag limits and anchoring rules, we need not a bad rap for the area after Fisheries recent bust at Lock 11 tainting the good reputation of most recreational fisher folk. Rumour of the Weir being removed for 2 weeks in July is circulating, this will bring good and bad with it as upstream will become inaccessible to most boats but ramp maintenance will be enabled and a treasure trove of lures will be on offer for those willing and spirited. Further afield, SA blue swimmer crabs are slowing for those land based and out a little deeper for boaties. The King George whiting continue to be solid on lower York peninsula areas and but a sprinkling of Southern bluefin tuna remain on NW Kangaroo island areas and traditionally move on by now. Several locals have travelled to NT for barra trips with mixed results resultant of poor rains over the last couple of years. Offshore and Gulf fishing has been sensational but creek areas are patchy. Stock top ups this week include a topped up range of Tonic Eyewear, inflatable PFD’s, OZtrail Australia chairs, Muldoon King mong and Big mong, Venom Rods , BKK Hooks Australia trebles and a range of Millerods rods due friday. In closing, a couple of locals in the groove, Tim, Jake and Glen really sniffing them out this year with the best yet to come and a little fish for the author. Gloves and beanies on, Kym Sykes

04.01.2022 COVID did not stop the pro's from AFC having a crack last week, several very good local fish landed in prefish, competition results are all hush until TV airs in October. The fish are there, we just need to get amongst them is well proven by out of towners showing how its done. COVID restrictions will relax Friday for our region, whilst masks and sign in will remain the norm. Sorry folks, little to report today with nil fishing activity this week, my bet is they will be hungry if you pick the holes in the weather and the barometer on a peak. Small top ups from Obsession spinnerbaits Assassin Spinnerbaits Adrenalin Skate and a small range of Millerods with more models to come and premium rods by Venom Rods We have plenty of Scrub worms and Yabbies, they're waiting to be scoffed

04.01.2022 Hi folks, trust many of you are back to work and some sort of new normal in regional Vic. We have had many hundreds of visitors up for school holidays, is great to see. Fishing, Golden Perch continue a great spring run on Scrub worms, whilst Shrimp and Yabbies are scarce it has mattered little as the fish are not biting on them as would be expected. Accidental Cod hookups of 30cm - 65cm have been common & carefully released both below lock 11 weir and upstream at Nangiloc and... one angler had a Jackall attacked by a metre fish near Apex RiverBeach Holiday Park. Redfin have been easy to find at Bushman's Rest Caravan Park Lake Cullulleraine for those boaties trying. Ouyen Lake continues to sprout stocked Trout with Powerbait dominating catches. Frenchman has little flow resultant of the catchment being full to its limit. Many industries are currently void of stock resultant of COVID Fishing and Outdoor has too. Don't wait till Xmas to buy or you will be disappointed, LAYBY NOW and consider this our apology, we are trying to source stock from wherever we can in readiness. Vermin control folk, do not wait till 2021 for supply, it will not be there. This week arrivals JD/Eddy Lures, Lodge Cast Iron camp ovens, Jackall Lures, Oar-Gee Lures, Strike Force Lures, Fogdog, Cobb Cooker, Ledlenser new models, Spika safes and ammo top up. Heads up for expression of interest of a Southern Bluefin Tuna trip May 17th 2021 with Jason of Port MacDonnell Fishing Charters talk to Kym. Cheers and tight lines See more

03.01.2022 COVID-19 Sunraysia river access ' fishing restrictions. "THERE ARE NONE" entering the Murray river from Victoria, you must have a "Border entry permit for NSW" your category will be an "Interstate resident transiting through NSW" you must carry your permit and you must exit NSW via the most practicable direct route. Go fish as you were. Reports are thin this week, filthy water with much suspended weed. Lock 8 and 9 are feral too. Lake Victoria is full and flow has been direct...ed around the Frenchman ending a reasonable run downstream. Baiters are finding Golden Perch below lock 10. Lake Ouyen has recently been stocked with Trout for those brave enough to wish a Southern travel venture. We have premium Lodge cast iron cookware arriving next week, a pallet of Cast iron camp ovens and jaffle irons due today and we have been appointed "COBB cooker" retail outlet for Mildura, they will be in early next week. Bespoke Lures Gidgee Lures White Crow Lures Strike Force Lures Barambah Lures 13 Fishing Australia Venom Rods have all supplied some goodies this week. KEEP WELL and fish hard. See more

01.01.2022 A new introduction, @Alicia's lures we are proud to have another hand crafted wooden lure available. Quality is great, attention to detail and rigging is good. Australian cedar, these will back up off structure fast. Custom colours possible, let us know what you want.
