25.01.2022 STUDENT OF THE WEEK - Term 3, Week 9, 2020 NAME: Eddy AGE:11 INSTRUMENT: Guitar... Words about Eddy from his teacher Jo: Eddy is has been a pleasure to teach this term! He is eager and willing to learn new guitar skills across lead and rhythm - working on refining his band song ‘Happy’ with new chords and also learning new single-note melodies. As a new student, he has adjusted well to online lessons, which has been fantastic to see. A highlight of this term has been watching him persevere to master the art of tuning his guitar at home. This can be challenging when first starting guitar, but Eddy was committed to learning how to do this from the get-go. Congratulations Eddy Q: What have you enjoyed the most about learning guitar so far? A: Strumming because it challenges me every day to play chords and hold the guitar properly. Q: What has been your favourite song?? A: Faded because I really wanted to learn it on guitar. Q: Do you have an artist you’d love to play with? A: Lee Kernaghan Q: What is your favourite thing about your lessons? A: To tune my guitar on the guitar app - it’s fun! Q: Would you recommend MAMP to others and if so, why? A: Maybe so they can learn music! Thank you Eddy

13.01.2022 Friday the 28th of August was a big day for five of MAMP's students who were sitting their practical piano exams with ANZCA. Because of the travel restrictions, an examiner wasn't able to be present so we had our first experience with "video" examinations. We received the required technical work 15 minutes before each student's start time, and they perfomed that and their three list pieces for the camera which was then sent to the examiner. That sounds like a very quick pro...cess - which it was! - but the preparation for it was a year long and I am very proud of all the work and dedication that our students put in. Exams are a great way to show improvement and recognize progress, and working towards an event like an exam is one of the best motivations. Congratulations, Grace, on another wonderful result, this time for Preliminary! Congratulations, Jack and Ruby, on your fantastic marks for Grade One, in your first exams! Congratulations, Anna and Kadence, on doing so well for Grade Two! You are all amazing pianists and I can't wait to see what we achieve next! See more
