25.01.2022 The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a Severe Weather Warning for heavy rainfall in areas including the Mallee. Isolated showers and thunderstorms with heavy rainfall, which may lead to flash flooding across northern Victoria from late this morning. Broad rainfall rates of 10 to 35mm over six hours are likely within the warning area.... 24.01.2022 SYDNEY TO MILDURA FLIGHTS COMMENCE It truly was a welcome sight this week when the first direct flight from Sydney to Mildura touched down at Mildura Airport. This new route will bring with it a host of economic benefits for our region, while providing greater connection to communities across the country.... The flight coincided with another massive milestone - the reopening of the NSW border to Victoria following an easing of COVID-19 restrictions across both states.

She’s a Youth Programs and Participation Officer in Council’s Youth Engagement Services who helps provide a variety of activities, competitions, opportunities and supports for young people aged 12-25 years across the region. Rachel has worked with young people for 20 years and loves building their confidence, self-esteem and identity while helping them develop their skills and abilities. She also assists them in improving and better underst...anding social relationships as well as their understanding of the community and world they live in. She strongly believes in giving young people the opportunity to be creative and express themselves. Programs she helps run are the annual Youth Awards, Youth Art Prize, leadership summit, ‘Show Us Your Shorts’ film competition, school holiday activities and so much more. 15.01.2022 NEW LAKE CULLULLERAINE NETBALL COURT Meringur Football Netball Club and Gol Gol Hawks F.N.C. netballers christened a new playing surface at Johansen Memorial Recreation Reserve in round 6 of the Millewa Netball Association on Saturday. The additional court allows two matches to be played simultaneously and gives the tenants of the facility - Meringur and Werrimull Football Netball Club - the option to co-host home games. ... 13.01.2022 UPDATE Sunday 25 October: Our green waste disposal area will be open today. Thank you for your patience over the weekend. GREEN WASTE DISPOSAL TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE AT MILDURA LANDFILL: Last night's rain has left the Mildura Landfill muddy and too wet for cars to access our green waste disposal area, leaving us no option but to close this area for today. We'll review conditions overnight and provide an update early tomorrow. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding that public and staff safety is our number one priority.

13.01.2022 If you plan to use the Mildura Landfill please be aware you now need to check-in using QR code at the weighbridge window. The quick and simple process has been introduced to ensure the safety of residents and Council staff using the landfill, starting during the busy Christmas/New Year period. The check-in process operates through your mobile phone, so please be sure to have it with you when visiting the landfill. Thank-you for your cooperation.

12.01.2022 With COVID-19 restrictions easing across the State, and residents and visitors enjoying local cafes, retail outlets and shopping precincts, the demand on parking is high. Like most large regional cities, we have time-restricted parking to ensure orderly, safe and fair parking for everyone. Starting Monday 26 October, our Civic Compliance officers will once again begin monitoring parking regulations to ensure public safety and access. We will also resume patrols of relevant of...f-street private carparks from this date. This work had been eased while restrictions were in place. Our officers will be required to maintain physical distancing (1.5 metres), wear a face mask, practice good hygiene and avoid interactions in close spaces.
