25.01.2022 Attention all MDO members Due to the recent public health warnings, we have been informed the Lake Cullulleraine Music Festival on the weekend of April 3rd-5th has been cancelled. I really appreciate everyone’s dedication to rehearsals and travel arrangements for this event. We can only hope that it will be rescheduled for later in the year. ... Rehearsals will continue as normal. However, I do ask that if you are feeling unwell or are presenting with flu-like symptoms, that you refrain from attending rehearsals to protect both yourself and the other members of the orchestra. See you all on Monday Jess

21.01.2022 Hello MDO community!! It’s been a little bit since this page has been very active - not much has happened yet it feels like so much! I hope everyone is keeping well and looking after yourselves! Due to restrictions and increasing numbers still, we obviously cannot return to rehearsals for a little while longer. ... I wanted to reach out to hear what you, as players and our dedicated audience members, have to say going forward for the orchestra. - would you like to join and not sure how? - would you like to make a donation and aren’t sure who it should be directed to? - are there any particular songs/styles of music you would like MDO to play? - is there anything we can do to improve our standards as a group? Please feel free to private message or comment on any of these topics or if you have anything else concerned. Please let myself or any of the MDO members know. We would love to have our community as involved as possible!! Until we can meet again.. Jess Musical Director

18.01.2022 Reminds me of our bassists (Allan)

18.01.2022 Dear Mildura District Orchestra members, It is with regret that I advise everyone that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I will be ceasing rehearsals until further notice. It’s not a decision that I like to make, nor an easy one. However, for the interest or health and safety to the members and all the family members around, it is that I come to this decision.... At 7:30pm on Thursday 19/03/2020, the committee members had a conference call to discuss this matter. We are meeting again early April to discuss the return of rehearsals. In the meantime, if anyone would like copies of their music that has not got them yet, please let me know what pieces you would like, and the part/part number, I will arrange copies and have them provided to you. I appreciate everyone is in different frames of mind in regards to what is happening right now in the world. In saying this, we all do have to respect everyone’s perspectives towards it. I want to thank everyone for their commitment so far this year, and especially to all the new members we’ve welcomed. Also, to the support you’ve shown and given me as director. Any questions that you may have, please feel free to contact me on the number below. Kindest regards Jess Browne Mildura District Orchestra Musical Director 0429679223

08.01.2022 It is with regret to inform the MDO community of the passing of Mr Len Krause. Len was an incredibly talented musician with such a passion for music and was always getting the community involved in music whether it be from inviting along to a concert or teaching lessons. Len will be forever missed and his legacy will always be remembered. ... Rest peacefully now Len.

01.01.2022 Thank you to everyone that came out and braved the cold this afternoon for our workshop concert! It was so wonderful to see so many of you there supporting our return to music and to celebrate all the hard work we have achieved with our guest conductor - Kevin Cameron. The skills and knowledge we’ve all gained from such a small but informative workshop is something you can’t buy. Here’s to the start of many concerts!!
