However it’s been very difficult to organise Merch with the current situation! What we can offer is beanies and backpacks to any juniors that would like to purchase! There should of been 1000’s of people here watching the top 2 teams of all grades battling out for glory but instead we are at home thinking of what could of been. 12.01.2022 It is with great sadness we farewell Ray Walters. Ray was an absolute stalwart of the Mildura Football Netball Club. He was always there to lend a hand, serving on the committee for many years. He became President and is an esteemed Life Member of our Club. Ray was both time keeper and team manager for many years. ... Our condolences to the Walters family. Ray will be sadly missed by all Demon supporters. A service will be held this Friday 12th February at 2pm at the Mildura Clubrooms (upstairs).

12.01.2022 Dear Players, Members, Supporters, Sponsors, Volunteers & Coaches, On Tuesday 16th June it was decided by the SFNL Board that the SFNL Season 2020 would go ahead, beginning on July 25th for seniors and juniors. Prior to this meeting we had countless conversations with committee members, volunteers, coaches, and players as to the viability of running a half season, the increased workload due to Covid-19 and the limited lead up to this shortened season. ... As a committee we chose not to participate in the SFNL Senior competition and advised the league of our intent at last night’s meeting. We also conveyed that we would like our Juniors to play. A majority of clubs took the same position as us. Our decision was a hard one, but we made it for the betterment of our Club moving forward. Never fear Demons, we have not lost hope. Our plans are in motion and we hope to release these in the not too distant future subject to further discussions with the league. Stay tuned & stay safe Demons The MFNC Committee

11.01.2022 AFL SUNRAYSIA ACADEMY SESSION CANCELLED Regrettably, due to the current COVID19 outbreak in Melbourne, in line with government restrictions, we will be unable t...o host our training session for all age groups on Wednesday 17 February 2021. AFL Victoria issued a directive that all affiliate bodies were to cease all training and playing until the end of the lockdown and until the government sanctioned return to community sport was issued. I apologise to all families, players and coaches for the inconvenience. In better news, I will shortly issue the schedule of fixtures for upcoming Academy games. With so much uncertainty, and with the cessation of the previous NGA Academy program, there has been hesitation of our neighbouring regions to commit to hosting games. We have managed to work outside the box, and are hopeful of having games for ALL age groups tied away. I look forward to sharing those fixtures with you all as soon as possible, mindful that families are forward planning around the April and June/July school holidays already.

Merle was an esteemed and loyal Life Member of the Mildura Football Club. She loved our club, happily serving on our beloved Ladies Committee for many years. Merle was a classy lady and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Given the news that has come out over the last 48 hours the ‘parent/guardian’ email that was due to be sent out has not been sent. We will hold off for a few more days until we receive further clarification in regards to government restrictions, border closures and SFNL update. 06.01.2022 Hello Demons Family What we have all been thinking was going to happen has just now happened. Due to the ever changing Covid restrictions including border travel, the SFNL Board after consultation with all clubs has decided to cancel the proposed Junior competition for 2020.... So what does this mean for all our Juniors?? *We will be talking to all coaches to assess the possibility of continued training/skills nights pending restrictions. *Memberships will roll over to 2021 and your place with the MFNC will be guaranteed. We have done all we can to try and salvage some sort of season for our juniors but circumstances out of our control had other plans. We are sorry but we need to keep every one of you safe. We hope over this break you all stay safe, practice your skills, keep fit and be ready to go for 2021. Football and Netball is such a big part of our lives and we will miss seeing your faces every week. We will now concentrate on making 2021 a fantastic year for you all. 04.01.2022 EXPRESSION OF INTEREST AFL Sunraysia is the governing body for Australian rules football in Sunraysia. Its objectives are to promote the game of Australian rule...s, to increase accessibility of the game of Australian rules, and to ensure best practice in accordance with the AFL Victoria Country Handbook and associated policies. AFL Sunraysia seeks a suitably qualified candidate to fill the role of Umpires Manager to help recruit, develop and schedule umpires and umpiring appointments in conjunction with the Sunraysia Umpires Association. The role will commence in late January 2020, with the hours negotiable to meet the needs of AFL Sunraysia, the SFUA and associated leagues and clubs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in football, be highly competent in administration, be a confident public speaker and have access to own transport. Coaching and/or umpiring experience in Australian football will be looked at highly favorably. 03.01.2022 To all our wonderful players of 2020, Firstly I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for registering with the Mildura Football Netball Club this season. Thank you to parents and friends for keeping up to date and following the new protocols that have been in place for training.... We, the committee of 2020 after hours of "can we continue?" talk, emails and text messages have decided that in the best interests, and the fairness to all, that we will cancel all trainings and Auskick effective immediately. I know this is not what some of you wanted to read and I appreciate your willingness to keep trainings going but with the ever increasing risk of Covid, travel restrictions for our NSW families and the Volunteer workload we believe it is what we needed to do. Your registration with our Club will be rolled over to 2021. The committee will now concentrate on making 2021 one of our best yet. 03.01.2022 Dear valued Members, Players, Sponsors and long-time Demons family, Firstly, we would like to say THANK YOU! Thank you so very much for your patience. The SFNL Board are meeting on the 15th of June and will be making a decision regarding Season 2020.... We are unsure of what our season may look like and how it will run, we too are waiting patiently to find out. What we do know is that our "normal" will be vastly different. There will be social distancing and there will be Covid Safety procedures put into place. We take the safety of our members very seriously and have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure that if and when we are given the 'green' light that we WILL be ready. We are extremely thankful to those who have paid their membership and sponsorship for Season 2020. We are working on a 'Plan B' if our season does not go ahead. What that Plan B looks like will depend on the further relaxing of Covid restrictions by the Victorian Government. We are determined to make the most out of what we are given. 02.01.2022 Some exciting news for our Auskickers! We kick off Wednesday 29th July, 4:30pm For those who missed out on registering at the beginning of the year we have a few spots left. As you will appreciate we have capped numbers due to the current Covid-19 situation. ... Parents/guardians please keep the following in mind if you intend to register your child. * Parents/guardians will NOT be allowed to enter the playing arena unless they are actively assisting the coaching crew. * Only registered participants will be allowed on the playing arena. * Children are to bring their own drink bottle, named please. * Parents will be expected to adhere to social distancing protocols. * Sessions are pending governement restrictions. If restrictions change and sessions are cancelled, refunds are to be requested direct from NAB AFL Auskick.
