22.01.2022 Jumping 80cm with Finn today! I have not jumped this high in a very long time, not since I was actively riding Dobby. Finn has restored my confidence in jumping. He took a break from flat work today and tested out the newly reconstructed obstacle arena. Not bad for jumping in a dressage saddle!... #jumpinghorse #showjumping #potential #arabianhorse #arabianhorsesofinstagram #ridingcoach #ridingschool #equestrian #equinelife #adrenaline #thrill

22.01.2022 And that concludes an amazing, yet another busy day. Imogen and Sabine taking their noble steeds back to their paddocks.

20.01.2022 NEW MHRS learning curriculum! Once riders have passed their Rainbow Level (Entry level), they move on to Red Level (Level One) This is where riders earn their reins licence upon completion!... Red Level and above Levels require TWO modules to be completed to successfully pass; mounted and unmounted. Upon completion riders will: *Brush, pick hooves, saddle and bridle, with assistance only if necessary, demonstrating awareness of basic horse safety. *Mount and dismount independently (with mounting block if needed). *Perform warm-up stretches independently. *Perform an emergency dismount at the halt and walk. *Halt by disengaging horse’s hindquarters (one-rein stop), once on each rein. *Demonstrate a pulley rein and a safety seat. *Shorten and lengthen reins correctly. *Perform walk-halt transitions, maintaining balanced position. *Demonstrate the following maneuvers at walk: -- Change of direction across diagonal -- Half-circle reverse -- Half-turn -- Large circle *Drop stirrups and pick up again, without looking down, at the halt. *Ride in 2-point position at the walk. *Ride simple ground pole course (3-5 fences) at walk, demonstrating jumping position and good approaches. *Ride on the rail at a posting trot, once around in each direction. *Know and discuss safety rules in grooming area, pasture and arena. *Describe safe riding attire; demonstrate how to correctly fit a helmet. *Catch horse in pasture, with safe technique. *Demonstrate safe leading from near side, both in barn and through doorways/gates. *Tie horse safely, using an effective quick-release knot. *Demonstrate basic grooming to prepare a horse for a ride. *Know names and functions of basic grooming tools. *Demonstrate picking out hooves safely, with knowledge of reasons for basic hoof care. *Know parts of the horse, to include: withers, poll, croup, hock, fetlock, etc. *Know parts and functions of saddle and bridle. *Know how to store tack correctly, and give at least two reasons for cleaning tack and equipment. *Know basic rules for feeding. *Be able to identify good and bad hay, grain, and water. *Demonstrate cleaning paddocks thoroughly and efficiently. Riding Packages are automatically enrolled into the Levels Program. However, Levels Programs can be purchased for $100 if not able to purchase a riding package. Due to the course work to pass the Levels, some lessons will need to be theory/ground work based to be able to pass.

14.01.2022 A before and after of one of my many pride and joys. I have had many riders come to me that have never been on a horse. I am only part of the equation, my clients dedication is the main factor. Darci is showing that if you work hard, and keep pushing, you tick some goals! She part leased a horse through COVID and was able to continue her lessons. To think shes only been riding since Jan!... She is going to compete with Honey next year I'm surely producing a great bunch of riders

12.01.2022 Massive day here at MHRS! A mighty thanks to Molly for tagging about for the day. She even had her first jump in her lesson today! Darci even had some jumping on Shiloh! Bella came out and gave Dawn a test ride! Very proud of my sponsored rider, Bella's achievements at pushing through some mental barriers today.... A big thanks to Jaz, I couldn't have had such a smooth day today without her Ah... so tired, but gee, I love my job.

12.01.2022 Dawn: 1 week on! Her teeth her horrendous, but are where they need to be right now, and she's happily eating without issues.

11.01.2022 With the hot summer, I must request for all people to wear correct PPE when entering the property. Long pants in the form of jodhpurs, jeans, leggings are the only accepted leg wear attire.... Be mindful, normal leggings are slippery and can increase risk of falling off. It is a safety issue to ride in shorts, and causes serious chaffing and is uncomfortable after the 5 minute mark. Incorrect footwear is not permitted on premesis. The only accepted footwear are enclosed shoes, such as runners and boots. No steel caps. No thongs. No sandals. No fashion heels. All those that come with inappropriate shoes are STRICTLY NOT permitted beyond the Hut and are not allowed near tie rails and paddocks. This is a safety issue. Sunscreen and bottled water is provided, but please ensure you have sunscreen on your child before lesson arrival to ensure it soaks into the skin and a bottle of water for spare. Thank you.

05.01.2022 Dawn continuously looking better every day! *** Due to how many of my own horses I now have to educate, breaking in and training for clients is closed until further notice.... Ruby is aiming to be training Medium by end of year, Finn to be training Novice. Happy needs more ground work. Dawn will be under saddle by end of year and Honey did not sell in the sales today, thought she wouldn't! So she and my experienced clients are going to be educating her further and campaigned. Honey will be training Novice by end of year.
