24.01.2022 A Severe Thunderstorm Warning for HEAVY RAINFALL has been issued for people in parts of East Gippsland, Mallee and Wimmera Forecast Districts. Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning areas over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include #Murrayville, Combienbar, Gelantipy and Bonang. The State Emergency Service advises that people should:... * Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-off into waterways may contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks. * Be alert that in areas recently affected by fires, heavy rainfall increases the potential for landslides and debris across roads. * Check that loose items such as outdoor settings, umbrellas and trampolines are safely secured and move vehicles under cover or away from trees. * Stay indoors and away from windows. * If outdoors, move to a safe place indoors. Stay away from trees, drains, gutters, creeks and waterways. * If driving conditions are dangerous, safely pull over away from trees, drains, low-lying areas and floodwater. Mildura SES are working along side crews from #CFA and #FRV, Ambulance and Police to ensure the scene remains safe. A lot of storm damage can be preventable if you take the steps to prepare your home.
