09.01.2022 We are asking Victorians to stop all forms of recreational boating to help stop the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). From 11.59pm tonight, Victoria is introduc...ing Stage 3 restrictions. There will only be four reasons to leave your house: For essential food and supplies. For exercise. For medical care. And for work and education if necessary. To be clear, the Premier has described exercise as ‘a walk round the block or a bike ride to stretch your legs and get some fresh air’. This does not include recreational boating. Please note that Marine Search and Rescue services do not have the same capability to perform rescues on the water as they normally would. Anyone choosing to head out on the water is putting themselves and others at increased risk. Our advice is to stay home, take the time to inspect your lifejackets and keep on top of boat maintenance, and prepare for when we have the all clear to head back out. If you can stay home, you must stay home. Take care everyone. 09.01.2022 The Mildura Ski Club Committee has for the last couple of weeks been exploring all options regarding the running of the Mildura 100 and with 4 weeks to go taking a wait and see approach. At this point 3 weeks out from the event the situation with the COVID 19 Pandemic has escalated dramatically which gives us little prospect of holding the event. Further our Volunteer Committee members who are Business Owners and Employees need to prioritise their time in difficult economic t...imes to concentrate on their Businesses and Employment. Given the above the Mildura 100 is postponed. Competitors will be refunded IN FULL with no administration fees. Please allow our Event administration time to complete this process. We will be refunding in case we need to completely cancel. If you wish to contact the Club please do so by email [email protected] DO NOT telephone Committee members directly please. Thank you to all the Competitors who supported the Club while we went through this process. Thanks to SRA for your work and regretfully, for the sport in general, we could not assist SRA financially by running the event. Kind Regards Mildura Ski Club Committee.

01.01.2022 A MESSAGE FROM RMS We are taking this opportunity to keep you informed and updated on the Government COVID-19 restrictions and how they apply to boating during this unusual and ever changing time. The following update to the restrictions will help with the regulation of our waterways, and provide advice to boaters, particularly as we approach the Easter long weekend and NSW school holidays: Unless you have an essential need to be out - stay home. For those thinking about taki...ng a boat out or engaging in other water activities, as applies to everyone in NSW at the moment, if you don't need to leave your home, stay home. If leaving your home, you need to know that from 31 March 2020, NSW Government Public Health Orders have been updated requiring people to stay at home unless they have a 'reasonable excuse'. A 'reasonable excuse' to leave your home to use your boat could be to: 1. exercise (e.g. kayaking/sailing/paddling/fishing etc); 2. get to and from work, where the work cannot reasonably be performed from home; 3. get groceries; and 4. provide assistance, care or support to an immediate member of the person's family. Socialising or cruising on the water is not a reasonable excuse to leave your home. If you have a reasonable excuse to leave your home, social distancing rules always apply - at the boat ramp and on your boat. When on a private boat, because it is not a public place, the restriction on gatherings of more than 2 people does not apply. However, the skipper is to ensure there is 4 square metres of space for each person on board. If there is not 4 square metres of space per person, the skipper will not be complying with the Public Health Order. Onshore activities When onshore, do not gather with more than 2 people unless with members of the same household. This applies in any public place. Skippers must also remember their other safety responsibilities regarding safety equipment, alcohol consumption, keeping a proper lookout and proceeding at a safe speed. For the latest information on coronavirus and current restrictions, members of the community are encouraged to check the NSW Government website (http://nsw.gov.au) for regular updates. Transport for NSW remains focused on keeping you and the customer safe as a key priority. See more
