18.01.2022 I do believe in fairies, I do, I do Our Preschool children have shown an interest in imaginary play as they search the outdoor environment for fairies, bugs and magic. We have followed from this interest through creating our very own fairy garden. Can’t wait to see the magic that happens in this special area in our outdoor learning space over the next few months.

Encourage children to explore sensory qualities Aid in development fine motor skills in small fingers, hands and wrists Further develop children's imagination as they create and explore with it Play dough is a calming experience that helps children relieve stress through their hands. When we involve children with making play dough we use intentional teaching to discussing things like colour and texture, and what happens when ingredients are added and mixed together as a part of STEAM.

09.01.2022 Water play There are many benefits of water play. At Budgewoi Milestones, we encourage the children to use water play to make discoveries and explore outcomes. Today the Preschool Children engaged in an outdoor water experience. Using team work they each filled different sized buckets with water and transported them across the yard to the water trough. ... As a group we had a discussion about what colour we should make the water using food colouring and what we could add. Let’s put glitter in called Ella and CARS replied Logan. We then went to the shed and the children each chose an item they wanted to use in the magical blue glitter water we created. We then watched as the chosen objects sunk or float. This type of STEAM experience helps children develop problem solving skills as they begin to learn why and how things happen. Smiles and busy hands were visible during this experience.

06.01.2022 The toddlers this week got hands on as they explored play dough and incorporated a variety of loose parts into their play. How awesome are their creations

06.01.2022 Making coloured pancakes today in the Preschool Room As a follow on from the interest the Children have shown in cooking, we decided to make pancakes this morning. First we spoke about safety and that the fry pan is hot and can burn our skin if we touch it. The Children then helped with shaking the pancake mix and choosing the colours. 01.01.2022 Graduation preparation begins Our Preschool Children are getting very excited as they begin their transition to Big School and have be busily doing their graduation craft. This year is a little different to previous years as our Graduation will be presented to family as PowerPoint presentation on a keepsake USB. Children will also receive a farewell bag with their Certificate, Graduation cookie, Crafted Frame, USB with personalised keychain and activity workbook.
