We have been working hard to develop a program for each of our age groups, this program allows the Educators to focus on a project which will last for a week.... This program has been developed alongside our Centre Manager, Educational Leader and Lead Educators to ensure all topics are based on children’s interests and alongside our Early Years Learning Framework. 25.01.2022 Dear Milestones Raby families, we are excited to share with you, the News of the submission of our own Early Learning Centre’s Narragunnawali program - Reconciliation in Education. Narragunnawali means peace, alive, wellbeing, and coming together. This Inclusion program is supported by ‘Reconciliation Australia’, an organisation that promotes reconciliation by building stronger relationships between the wider Australian community and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islan...der Peoples. Aided by Reconciliation Australia, we have initiated our own ‘Reconciliation Action Plan’, which we have created together with our own Milestones Raby RAP Working Group, an awesome Support Group, Team Spirited Colleagues and the excited and hungry for learning children. This has been and will continue to be an awesome way of showing our respect and recognition for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and the inclusion of all our families at Milestones Raby. We promise to keep you informed and posted and we hope that our own excitement to learn and develop with respect for Diversity, will continue to reach our young and impressionable children for future generations.

24.01.2022 Educators in the Cupid room are tirelessly supporting each child with developing their self-help skills to support their independence and sense of accomplishment. As you can see, the hard work from the Cupids have definitely paid off! They have visibly taken responsibility of their own physical, social and emotional well-being and are doing an amazing job! Implementing progressive lunch also provides each child with the opportunity to self-regulate and develop their sense of agency as they make choices for themselves throughout the day.

24.01.2022 For this years Christmas, we would like to send care packages to our deployed soldiers to say thank you for all their amazing courage and efforts. We would like to ask of your support in this project by helping us to create a care package. Please feel free to donate any non- perishable items such as: Soaps, toothbrushes, Vegemite. All children will have the opportunity to create thank you cards to add into the care packages.... 23.01.2022 Our buddy benches have definitely been utilised this afternoon! What better way to wind down on a Friday afternoon than engaging in conversation and play with a peer (or a few) in the sunshine as Winter slowly comes to an end. We even had jackets being laid down as picnic blankets to create a sanctuary of activities! Wishing you all a safe and enjoyable weekend!

22.01.2022 ~ NAIDOC Week 2020 ~ Early Childhood is always extremely busy and this week wasn't any different! The theme for this year was "Always was, Always Will Be." Each child was given the opportunity to discuss the history of Indigenous Culture through various craft and cooking experiences.

21.01.2022 Exploring Agriculture When the Sunshine educators were reading a book, educators asked the children where milk came from. The most popular response was "from Woolies or Coles." They're definitely not wrong but this was the perfect opportunity to delve in deeper. To extend on this discussion, the children of the Sunshine room created a replica of a cow using cardboard with their educators and took turns to milk the cow before making yoghurt with what they collected. How clever!

19.01.2022 The Sunshines have been engaging in a range of activities to explore the concept of motion. Miss Pratima set up an activity in our outdoor area to support each child's understanding of slopes/hills and how the travel of an object can be affected depending on the surface. This learning experience also touched base on Newtons third law "With every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction." Science and learning is in everything! This is a perfect example of what a love for learning looks like

16.01.2022 Inquiry based learning has many benefits in a childs development as they are able to foster their curiosity, enhances learning experiences and supports the love for learning. The before and after school care children decided to start a project based on their interest on Minecraft. Throughout this engineering project, they are able to explore nets of three-dimensional objects before collaboratively constructing a small town. Looking forward to seeing the end result!

11.01.2022 Its that time again! Here are our upcoming events for the first week of Spring! We are so excited to welcome back the warm weather with lots of outdoor activities!

09.01.2022 SCIENCE IN THE CUPID ROOM As the Cupids get closer to transitioning to the Rainbow room, educators are continuing to plan learning experiences to support the development of fundamental skills. Today, each child was given the opportunity to engage in a science experiment based on chemical reactions. The use of droppers supported the development of their pincer grasp in preparation for early writing skills. Looking forward to seeing what they have planned next!

09.01.2022 Spring is finally here!! The children of Milestones Early Learning Raby have made the most of beautiful weather by maintaining our vegetable garden! The children did an amazing job over the last week to make sure our vegetable patch had sufficient water and sunshine over the weekend.

08.01.2022 Milestones Early Learning Raby are so lucky to have such a diverse range of cultures at our centre. This week there were lots of events happening and one of them being Diwali (festival of lights). Throughout this week, each child was given the opportunity to explore the tradition of Diwali through creative arts, group time and sensory activities. Some children even went home with henna patterns done by Miss Pratima and Miss Ani. What an amazing week of celebrations!

06.01.2022 Being National Asthma Awareness week this week, we thought we could give you a little insight on how we, as a centre ensure all children are provided with the highest quality care! Educators at Milestones Early Learning Raby renew their Asthma and Anaphylaxis training every 12 months to ensure all educators are equipped and refreshed with the training required. We also take pride in our Emergency Zones to ensure communication of all childrens needs are being communicated throughout the entire centre and are up to date with the most recent and relevant information. 04.01.2022 Entomology is still sticking around at Milestones Early Learning Raby! The Rainbows continued the study of insects in their classroom as they used magnifying glass to locate specific characteristics before matching them with the bug chart provided. With educators help and guidance, they were able to find the names of each bug that was present on their table.
