25.01.2022 We love building relationships within our community, and one very important relationship we have is with our near by school Currajong. We offer before and after school care for children who attend and we often get return visits from children who attend throughout their early learning journey. It appears they love coming back, as much as we love having them.

23.01.2022 Remembrance day in an early education setting may not be your typical minutes silence, however we have taken the opportunity to reflect and provide the children with experiences where they gain meaning and value. Over the week the children have created these poppy's which we proudly display in our centre entrance. Lest we forget.

17.01.2022 Today is R U OK Day Its OK to not be OK Life can throw challenges/ obstacles at us from time to time and this year has definitely shown that!... Whats not OK is to feel alone, to feel like you are the only one that is going through something, to feel like no-one will understand. Believe me when I say that once you share your problems you are truly not the only one. A Family Member, A Friend, A Workmate, A Friendly Face, A Listening Ear. They are out there. Be Brave. Reach Out. Ask someone today: RU OK?

06.01.2022 This is a wonderful initiative that has been implemented in our Senior Kindy room for some time now... what did you do on the weekend? We would love to see your photos! What we did on the weekend? The what we did on the weekend segment provides many benefits for the children. Every Monday or Tuesday, Amber or Tamara conduct a group time about the children’s festivities on the weekend. Tamara and Amber also share what they did on the weekend to form closer relationships with t...he children. Gaining this information provides the educators with interest of the children’s and families that can be added to the program and extended from. They are able to use their communication skills to communicate with the educators and group and are able to extend their knowledge of verbal words and begin to use adult forms of speech. (EYLF MILESTONE 3-5 YEARS) It also provides them the opportunity to be able to learn to recall information correctly. (EYLF MILESTONE 3-5 YEARS) What is written on the board is exactly what the child says when asked ‘What did you do on the weekend?’. Parents are welcome to add photos of the child’s weekend via Storypark. There is a couple of ways to do this: add a moment through the families app, start a conversation with Amber or Tamara or add a story via the app or webpage. These photos are then added onto the board and the children are able to view these throughout the day and discuss with friends about their adventures.

05.01.2022 This morning we were blessed with miss Amy sharing her culture with us and demonstrated to all of us how to make lamlam dumpa. During this experience miss Amy explained to us the English wording and the Torres Strait Islander words. We also got to see how the food was prepared as back in the early days there wasn’t spoons for mixing and to cook the banana leaves they use a camp fire to heat them up but today we used the cooktop. ... Each of the rooms all had there nicely wrapped dumpa for afternoon tea which was delicious and shared out to all our friends. Thank you miss Amy for sharing this beautiful experience with us.

04.01.2022 It looks like our toddlers are enjoying lunch today. Savoury mince and cous cous. Encouraging babies and toddlers to feed themselves has benefits that go far beyond vitamins and essential nutrients. When children feed themselves, they develop fine motor skills through touching, grasping, spooning, squeezingand, of course, droppingfood.
