They were able to use their index finger in order to point at a person and say who they are. Through this experience, children felt safe as they saw familiar things around them, and by having pictures of themselves and their families. ... Not only do they build a sense of security for them in the physical environment, but their sense of self-esteem is also developed. #healthyfamily #completelyconnected #SocialSkills #emotionalskills #Languageskills

07.01.2022 *NAIDOC 2020* The NAIDOC 2020 theme - Always Was, Always Will Be. - recognises and celebrates that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. NAIDOC 2020 invites all Australians to embrace the ancient history of this country a history which dates back thousands of generations.... Today, the educators set up a range of fun and learning activities that enhances our knowledge on what NAIDOC week is about. Face painting Educators consistently strive to engage children in respectful conversations and activities designed to increase awareness and understanding of Aboriginal culture. Sitting in circle and yarn with the children, share a dream time story. In the Yarning circle the children sat together to listen and interpret what they thought aboriginal music sounded in regards to animals of Australia. Drawing on sand Use of symbols in play to represent and make meaning ,draw on their experiences in constructing meaning using symbols. Playdough In theme of the week, we used yellow, black and red play dough to create many things including the Aboriginal flag. They enhanced their skills in different ways such as language and interaction as they communicate and interact with their peers throughout the experience. #lifelonglearning #hoxtonparkmilestones #healthyliving #healthymind #learningaboutculture #learningthroughplay
