Here the modern architecture leads from the original house at our Albert Street project. Signified with flowing timber stairs a platform meets at the ground floor creating a junction to the new level above, designed primarily for sleeping. 25.01.2022 _WE ARE HIRING _Milieu Creative is a Perth based architecture and interiors studio with a passion for detail and design. With a focus on projects within the space of high end single-residential, multi-residential, boutique office and hospitality our studio is expanding due to several new and exciting projects and we are looking for a Project Architect to join our team. The right candidate will be joining us in our new office located within the new Jardan precinct of Peppermin...t Grove to work within a team of agile, dynamic and fast thinking creatives. _PROJECT ARCHITECT ROLE The position is available for a registered project architect with a minimum of 5 years experience, preferably in a residential firm. Role includes: -Comprehensive experience working on all stages of a project from concept design, design development, construction documentation and contract administration. - Autonomous experience in contract administration with an ABIC contract - Specific experience in the design and documentation of highly detailed residential and multi-residential projects. - Knowledge of Residential Codes, Building Regulations, NCC and the planning process are essential. - Ability to co-ordinate and liaise with clients, consultants and authorities. - Local experience preferred. - High level of proficiency with the use of AutoCAD, Revit and Sketchup. 24.01.2022 _DESIGN DETAILS _A hanging rack designed to be seen. Not only a practical piece to hang clean washing straight from the dryer, or drip dry from the hanger into the sink, this simple yet versatile design elevates the laundry at our Albert Street project with a simple timber detail.

23.01.2022 _COMMERCIAL INTERIORS _With the kitchen the heart of the home we designed the office kitchen of our @pitchpartners project to feel the same. A place for office discussions, shared meals and wind-down drinks the open island bench allows for mingling. We have the skill set to start at the feasibility stage of identifying your site whether it be commercial, mixed use or residential, to providing a full service approach whereby we design the architecture, interior architecture and styling. This can comprise of designing the built in cabinets, the linen and soft furnishing selections, decorative lights and artwork, all the way through to the landscape design both hard and softscape. Once we start working with a client we like to assist them in designing the whole space to ensure its resolved, considered and executed to the highest quality.

20.01.2022 _MILIEU CREATIVE _Whilst 2020 marks so much more than we could have imagined, this year is in fact a celebratory year for Milieu Creative as we mark 10 years in delivering exciting projects through our architecture and interior design. What started as a way to keep myself designing whilst starting a family, the past ten years in business has taught me that our business is equally about design as it is about our people. Securing the right team, client, consultants, trades and ...builder with the same aspirations for creating exceptional outcomes is the key to a project’s success. It has also taught me, that running a business is one of the hardest things I will ever do... along with parenting three strong minded and determined girls. I have had the opportunity to live and work in London, India, Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok and Sydney which has had a huge impact on the way I think, interact with people and the way I design. Every project, no matter how big or small has its challenges that require an open, often creative mind to turn a problem into an opportunity and maintain a happy disposition whilst resolving it. In delivering projects, I believe that it is often the problem that turns into the celebrated and distinguishing feature at completion. I firmly believe that a problem shared is a problem solved, and take great satisfaction from the wins that I achieve with the broader project team. Over the years I have collaborated in delivering projects across all disciplines; retail, education, corporate, hotel and leisure, food and beverage and residential. I have come to realise my interests and strengths are focused on thinking more broadly with the strategic briefing and planning at the very inception of a project to ensure opportunities are leveraged and the perfect project team is derived to deliver the best version of the project possible. In addition understanding the commercial aspects of design and architecture ensure whilst creating thoughtfully designed spaces, these projects are also constructed of the highest quality whilst meeting the inevitably challenging budget and program constraints. Last week we were treated to an event at our recently completed project with @zenith_interiors Perth and it was so wonderful to be in the space with its new energy. An incredible warehouse transformation the building now showcases the Zenith furniture range and office space. 15.01.2022 _ASK US _Accounting for the internal and external, we do also offer exterior architecture and landscaping services. As our projects extend to the hardscape, pool, boundary walls and greenscape we have recently built our landscape team to ensure we can provide a full design service for your home or business. This extension allows us to collaboratively design the architecture with the landscape at the very initial stages of the design. From this we provide a planting list a...nd specification so the builder can include this in their contract pricing, which also ensures that we can make early planting selections that may require the construction phase to mature. In addition to the above we can accurately price the landscape prior to signing the building contract allowing for transparency of the entire project and rather than the landscaping becoming a secondary element completed after the build is finished. This allows the project to not only be estimated to its overall cost but in turn find the most suitable company to undertake the construction process.

Our remote clients get comfortable with zoom meetings, facetime and day to day email communication. Our local client base enjoy meeting in our office to go through presentations together and see how the team work collaboratively to generate the ideas behind the design. Pinterest and social media assist in clients communicating their vision and then we take their images and provide a considered and holistic returned approach to their architecture, interiors and landscape design which we have found to work well.

07.01.2022 _RESIDENTIAL DESIGN _The design phase of our projects bring together an accumulation of 1 to 3 floor plan layouts to be discussed and reviewed with our clients. These free form sketches are brought together from the strategic briefing and conceptual stages where we get an in depth understanding of the clients requirements. With infinite ways to redesign a space we take into consideration their needs, an aesthetic, budget, the sites orientation, and council requirements. Fo...r this featured project we are working on a scope of architecture, interior design and landscaping which provides alterations and additions to a recently renovated Californian Bungalow. The sketches offer options where a new carport is proposed to the front of the home which will allow for the demolition of the existing rear garage, allowing for a full width yard, new pool and landscaping. Internally the ground floor utility rooms will be relocated to provide improved visual connections between the indoor and outdoor living spaces, improved natural light and ventilation, and the opportunity for our clients to keep a closer eye on their 2 young boys throughout the home. A first floor addition is architecturally imagined as an upper level box in a clean textured form, clad in charred vertical timber, screened openings and a planter box, which will provide a private sanctuary including an open plan study and rumpus room, 2 new bedrooms and a shared bathroom. This detailed sketch by our architectural team showcases to our clients and builder how the floating stone-clad stair will connect perfectly to the first floor slab and ground floor ceiling. These specific details, created with shadow lines and finishes, are what will highlight the design intent and add dimension and customisation to a first class design.

01.01.2022 _INSPIRATION _Celebrating the colours, textures and shapes of Australia's natural environment we are creating a beautiful project we look forward to sharing more of. Organic forms are being designed to integrate throughout the sites architecture and interiors while colour and texture will be referenced through striking marble, natural timbers and layers of rich burnished orange, deep blue and sandy toned whites.

01.01.2022 _LIFESTYLE _There are spaces within design that are created for so much more than their essential need. They are areas where daily rituals take place. They are places of healing, self discovery, solitude and renewal.
