25.01.2022 Bit of an upgrade to our hay shed during the week, an 8m awning and a north wall added.

24.01.2022 Finished the 2020 seeding program this arvo with some Kaspa field peas, a huge thanks to Phil and Jake. With some very decent rainfall through April the earlier sown crops are off to a great start. Next week we’ll start rolling vetch and look at doing some in crop grass spray in the lentils. Let’s hope the rain keeps coming and a great season is had by all.

22.01.2022 Out loading a bit of Barley from grain bags.

18.01.2022 Parked up for the morning, a few ml of rain overnight has halted harvesting with only a couple hours of barley to be harvested before moving into wheat. We’ve completed all our legumes and canola, with only the wheat to go.

17.01.2022 Picked the right year to bulk up some Lupin seed again, Mandleups looking the goods

16.01.2022 Night shift on the mower cutting vetch, very happy with the performance of the new Krone mower

14.01.2022 WANTED: Chaser bin driver for upcoming harvest, early November start, driving either a JD 9510RT with 30 ton bin or JD 7210R with 25 ton bin. Self contained cabin accommodation provided, but must provide own meals. Approximately 5 weeks work, good pay rate, prefer some previous experience.

14.01.2022 Finished harvest for 2019 last night, a huge thanks to all involved, our S780 and our contractors S680 ran faultlessly all harvest making it very efficient and enjoyable. Yields varied a bit but overall pretty happy.

05.01.2022 Picked up our new Krone mower conditioner, should be in full swing cutting vetch early next week

05.01.2022 All go for the 2020 seeding program with some Canola going into very good moisture, we’ll move straight into the legumes once the Canola is done.

03.01.2022 With a bit of moisture in the ground we’re starting to prepare a few paddocks for seeding that require some levelling, this is pea stubble and a hired 60ft Brookfield disc chain doing a fantastic job

03.01.2022 Something a bit different for the day other than spraying, marking a few lambs, 480 ewes with what looks like a pretty good lambing percentage

01.01.2022 Finally have our oaten hay job wrapped up after some rain delays, and can get a decent go at testing out our new John Deere S780 delivered to us during the year thanks to Haeuslers Sea lake. We’ve retained our existing Mc Don front and our old S670 is already working away for its new owner. Our contractor has been working away in the lentils and we’ll join him once we’ve given the new machine a bit of a polish up stripping some oat seed.
