13.01.2022 Today is the last day if National Volunteer Week. We'd like to shout out to all our parent volunteers that support our sections, help on excursions and camps, and help our group committee by helping at fund-raising events and helping to maintain our scout premises. Thank you so much! Lastly, a HUGE thank you to the Rover section of Scouting. Rovers commit a lot their spare time volunteering to do service projects in scout camp sites, helping run activities for youth sectio...ns, arrange Roventure camps (for the Venturer Scouts), support and help run adventurous activities such as rock climbing and abseiling! Without everyone Volunteering their time, knowledge , skills and services to help others in their community we would not be as fortunate as what we are. THANK YOU!!

12.01.2022 Scouts Queensland has recently announced the adult leaders recognition awards for 2019. We want to share and say a very BIG congratulations to our very own Brett Helmore on achieving The Silver Wattle Award for outstanding leadership role to the scouting movement. Brett has served our group for over 10 years and took on roles not only in our group, but for district as well. Thank you heaps from all of us Brett!! VERY, VERY well deserved Brett!!

10.01.2022 WANTED: Adult Leaders Scout Leaders are responsible for helping to devise and deliver programs that support young people in reaching their potential. Not only do Leaders help youth members develop valuable skills in an environment of responsible risk-taking, but they themselves develop a variety of skills in leadership, project management and event planning. No prior experience is necessary to become a Scout Leader. All Leaders undergo training on all aspects of youth leader...ship, program planning, safety and other requirements. They are also given resources of program ideas to help them get started. Leaders will require a Blue Card and are required to attend: Group meetings one night a week during school terms A monthly Leaders meeting Group activities, such as hiking or camping trips If you are interested in becoming a leader with our group, please message us as we'd love to discuss this with you!

08.01.2022 It's National Volunteer Week! There are many organisations that depend on volunteers and in Scouting we are no different. Today we would like to THANK our UNIT LEADERS who go above and beyond in delivering our scouting programs here at Millbank. We currently have Leaders in Cubs (8-10yrs), Scouts (11-14yrs) and Venturers (15-17yrs). The Rover Scouts lead themselves! (They are aged 18-25yrs, so they can!) Did you know that to be a Unit Leader, you don't have to have your ...own children involved? So long as you are over 18, you too can be involved in Scouting! You will need a Blue Card and all training is provided FREE. We are currently looking for Leaders of Joey Scouts, Cub Scouts and Scouts. If you think you may be interested and able to volunteer your time to help shape the youth of our future, then please contact us for more information, we'd love to hear from you! See more
