25.01.2022 Boys from red tag getting it done at Millbrook Lakes

25.01.2022 On a warm Autumn day you get to meet some of the locals.

25.01.2022 Millbrook Lakes is going Native! Over the last 2 years we have been stocking Murray Cod into 3 new native only lakes. From little things big things grow.

24.01.2022 I thought things were meant to get warmer in Spring?

20.01.2022 Hard fighting bow!!

18.01.2022 Can’t go to Tassie, up North, New Zealand or Christmas Island BUT Millbrook is open to regional Victoria. Grab a mate. Book a day. You’ll be so glad you did. To our Melbourne friends we hope it’s not long before we see you.

17.01.2022 From all of us at Millbrook Lakes thank you for being a part of 2019. Looking forward to seeing you all for bigger and better 2020. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

13.01.2022 Imagine sight fishing to a 13.5lb rainbow! Well Paul did that yesterday. Congratulations Paul. What a fight. What a fish. We are welcoming all Melbourne flyfishers from November 9th.

13.01.2022 69cm. 10lb Brown. Not much else to say. Look forward to seeing you when we can.

11.01.2022 Due to the overwhelming popularity of this great deal, we are extending it to the 20th September. This will allow those in the current lockdown area to take advantage of this fantastic offer

09.01.2022 Rain = flooded margins = tailing trout.

09.01.2022 Cracking dun hatch today. Dry fly all day.

09.01.2022 Did some work around the lakes. Then went for a fish. Ready when you are.

08.01.2022 A bit of Covid safe research with my bro. Sight fishing. Stick caddis. Look forward to seeing you after lockdown.

06.01.2022 Happy Easter from all of us at Millbrook. Memories of a time when you could have a drink on the jetty after a days fly fishing. Thanks for the pic Steve. Stay safe everyone.

05.01.2022 This is a must. Kiel otherwise known as the bream whisperer.

04.01.2022 Given my work is managing the lakes I thought I should post more footage of the sights I see. Might make these times a little easier.

03.01.2022 From all the team at Millbrook we wanted to say thank you. As with most tourism businesses we have gone from fully booked to empty. We can’t thank our clients enough for postponing rather than cancelling. Tough times but we will get through this. Our trout will only get bigger. Our lakes will only get better. Look after those who need it most. ... Stay positive. Stay safe. We will still be here when all this is done. See more

01.01.2022 On paper today’s weather wasn’t that flash for fly fishing. Bright sunny day. But sometimes the fish break the rules. Today was off the chart. 14 fish (browns and rainbows) from 3lb - 9lb landed. All sight fished. Amazing day.

01.01.2022 Final stocking for the year. Thank you to Bob, Frank and the team at Ballarat Fish Acclimatisation Society (Hatchery)

01.01.2022 Now that the NSW and Victorian streams are closed we can focus on our favourite stillwaters in pursuit of some bigger trout. Millbrook Lakes, just a short drive... from Melbourne has some of the most exciting trout water in Victoria. Big fish eating small flies throughout the winter months gives us all a perfect opportunity to hone our skills with tactical, stealthy approaches. A few #manicflycollection additions this winter will no doubt give the trout something new to engulf on those rainy, cold afternoons. The Damsel Bugger, FOB Woolly Bugger Olive and The Ultra Damsel have been tried and tested, proving to be a welcome addition to our stillwater boxes. Don't forget, winter is a perfect time to keep the fly rods bent. Remember to layer up, keep warm, dry and pack your big net.
