19.01.2022 Orders close tonight! last chance to get some Mill Creek Merch and help support the work that happens and also look rad

19.01.2022 Another rad day digging and moving rocks! (really, large rocks) Huge shoutout to the crew who turned up and put in the effort to repair the top section of BHD climb. Thanks to The Bike Shed Mortdale - TBSM for sending out some crew members from the shop to help out as well! Get out and enjoy the fresh work - See you next month

18.01.2022 Just a timely reminder about weather conditions and our trail network. Mill Creek generally drains really well and if we have had a bit of rain then most of the trails are good to ride. Hit the turps doesn’t handle the rain so well as it absorbs water due to the high clay content in the soil. Please do not ride this trail if it’s wet - you will damage it. If it’s been raining a lot, wash your bike, read a book, stay home and annoy your family or go hang at westfield with the rest of the cool kids, just don’t ride the trails Thanks

18.01.2022 Only a couple of days left to get your ticket to win this bike!!! Also it’s our end of year dig, ride and bbq so come along and help out, have a ride, have a beer and possibly win a bike!

A massive thanks goes out to Specialized Bicycles for donating a one of a kind soil searching bike, raced by Curtis Keene to be raffled off with all proceeds going to Mill Creek. In the end they raised $5300.00 which is unbelievable and will help us to build some kids/beginner trails. The lucky winner in the end was none other t...han Wade Tiller who is one of our legendary dig crew! Thanks to Sutherland Shire Council for providing such a good facility Special mentions to - The Bike Shed Mortdale - TBSM Cyclery Studio Sunday Road Brewing For the awesome support We’ll be back in February for our next dig day See you there! (Thanks Sean for the photos)

Keep an eye on your email inbox (and spam) where will contact the winners of the new swag!! Keep watching this space as we release some of the survey results. Tons of people have expressed an interest in supporting a more legally formal 'club' around Mill Creek and Sutherland Shire Mountain Biking in general. Particularly to those who've expressed an interest in helping out at the executive level, we'll be in contact soon with the next steps (just give us some time - there's a lot of survey data to process!)

13.01.2022 We grabbed this off our friends at Southern Trail Revolution - A timely reminder to have your say on the RNP plan of management before it's too late! Have you given your feedback to NPWS about the new Royal National Park plan of management yet? One of our fellow park user groups are posting regarding dirt jumps in RNP. Several of the sites are located in sensitive ecological communities, and most likely will be removed by NPWS. I believe the people who came across them wrot...e directly to the Environment Minister to draw attention to them, so it's a hard argument to justify keeping them where they currently are located. It's also why I've suggested the East Heathcote APZ as a possible site to allow dirt jump construction. You can be sure that they and their supporters will be providing feedback to NPWS. It's imperative that every single one of us also do the same to ensure that our voice is heard regarding MTB in the royal. Get on it, and remember to ask for the bottle forest/parkland trails at East Heathcote to also be zoned as recreational - otherwise we risk losing the trails in that area. Please take a few minutes to let NPWS what you think of the new plan: https://www.environment.nsw.gov.au//royal-parks-draft-plan (and if you decide to post over at that other page, PLEASE keep it respectful. We as a community don't need to give them any ammunition to paint mtb in a negative light and if you decide to be a dick it just makes us all look bad)

12.01.2022 Hey legends! Are you a builder or carpenter and would be willing to donate some time for a small project? We’d be stoked to hear from you! Get in touch and we’ll let you know what we need Cheers ***Update*** Thanks to everyone that reached out. We've got it sorted for now ... Stay tuned See more

07.01.2022 Today is our monthly trail day so if you are heading out to ride please be aware that the teacup climb will be closed (use the gravel road instead) and there will be work happening on HTT at some stage as well so this may be closed for a short period (it’s probably too wet to ride this morning anyway) If you’re coming along to the dig day we’ll be parking in the paddock and working nice and close See you out there!

07.01.2022 **October dig day** Just a heads up that our October dig day will not be running. There’s no council supervision available so we’ll cancel this one and meet up in November. Enjoy the day off and ride your bike instead Yeeiioo!

05.01.2022 Trail Update!! Whats closed? Only Hit the Turps is closed. This will be open first thing SATURDAY morning so if you want first laps get out there early. Standby for a separate post on the changes to the jump line.... What's open? Everything else is open. The only bad spots will be the lower part of Deaneii run and possibly the very end of BHD. Thanks to everyone for being patient with the closures. So far no one has poached the new work on Hit the Turps which is awesome!! Cheers

05.01.2022 Heads up shredders. Hit the turps will be too wet to ride tomorrow. It’s going to need some time to dry out before it can be ridden. Thanks for respecting this closure Cheers Trail crew

04.01.2022 Hit the turps update..... **open Saturday morning** Massive thanks for everyone’s patience with the freshen up of the jump line. Here’s a summary of what work has been completed and changes to be aware of - top section... Rollers between berms have been raised back to original height with same drainage issues resolved. The first 3 jumps have been reshaped and packed with the biggest change being that the shark fin is now a one piece takeoff instead of having 2 lines. Beginner line is still on the left and is a tabletop but now you can progressively move your way up to hitting the gap. - Middle section All 3 jumps have had a reshape The section between the first 2 jumps has been scooped out a bit and the takeoffs built up. The jump distance on this one didn’t really match the others so it’s been lengthened to ensure the gaps are consistent. The jump before heading down hill into the gap had already been reshaped but be aware this is now a one piece takeoff as well and is hipped. *the gap jump is unchanged at this stage and will undergo a rebuild sometime soon - Lower section Jump into the berm when coming out into the open has been reshaped and is also a one piece takeoff and is hipped for the advanced riders Berm is unchanged but there is a much bigger roller to allow more speed for the step up Berm before the step up has been steepened and rebuilt Please have a warm up run to scope out the trail before just pressing send as some jumps will feel different. Massive thanks to the legends that helped out on the rebuild (Wade, Mick, Sean, Craig, Scott, Jesse, David) huge thanks to Jason at Sutherland shire council Bushcare for supporting us as well. The surface may be a bit crumbly until it’s ridden in as the dirt was super sticky and then it was windy for days making the surface crusty so please use caution Cheers! Dan

03.01.2022 Our November dig day is this weekend!! It’s been a while since our last trail day and we’ve got a big job on so come along and lend a hand Stay tuned for a meeting spot (it’s likely to be on heathcote rd this month) See you out there ... https://facebook.com/events/s/november-dig-day/267012691215091/?ti=icl
