16.01.2022 http://www.pv-magazine.com//bosch-solar-exit-official-3-/ you really need to make sure the solar panels being sold to you have the longevity to stay in the market, another manufacturer pulling out ... and will they honour their 10 year warranty? Not to mention Aleo solar will be next, as their major financial backer is pulling out ... two solar companies in one. Sad to see!

14.01.2022 Last week the campaign to build Australia's first solar thermal power station at Port Augusta took a backwards step. Alinta's proposal for a feasibility study ...into solar has been rejected by ARENA for unknown reasons. While many are disappointed by this announcement the local community are not giving up, with a powerful cry in yesterdays local paper that they are "still fighting for solar" "We want to send a strong message to Alinta that the community doesn't want them to give up on solar thermal, our whole community and region is impacted by what happens to these power stations" - local leader Lisa Lumsden said on the front page of The Transcontinental Port Augusta. Today we are standing with the Port Augusta community, and our friends at Repower Port Augusta, and launching this online action calling on Alinta CEO Jeff Dimery not to walk away from solar thermal for Port Augusta > http://bit.ly/14FRkgW, Please sign and share with your friends to keep the pressure on for solar for Port Augusta > http://bit.ly/14FRkgW

12.01.2022 A new study out today shows the CleanTech sector is now the size of a quarter of all Australian manufacturing combined (and bigger than car manufacturing!). Hit SHARE to spread the good news and show your support for more good clean Aussie jobs.

11.01.2022 http://www.pv-tech.org//suntech_defaults_on_us541_million_ Dear Solar Enthusiast, Once the largest solar manufacturer in the world and over the course of just the last 2 years it appears that Suntech may be very close to official bankruptcy.... I have been describing the business model employed by the Chinese manufacturers as unsustainable and this is now being proven. In fact I am not aware of a single Chinese solar manufacturer that has made a profit in the last three years and again this is not financially sustainable and does not bode well for the thousand of Australian who have in good faith installed a system that may in time not be backed by a manufacturer. The Australian public need to be aware of this so they can activate their "buyer beware radar".

10.01.2022 Okay so it's been a while since we've posted and this post is about the blatant exploitation of the Rockhampton people with 'out-of-towners' coming to Rockhampt...on areas and RIPPING PEOPLE OFF. It's no wonder people don't want SOLAR PV POWER when their friends are buying systems that are so overpriced. The latest system 'DEAL' on Facebook is a 5kW system being offered for an INCREDIBLE $59/wk. Sounds like a great deal. It does UNTIL you read the conditions of sale...... The contract is for a period of 40 months, which in repayment terms equals 174 weeks. At $59/wk that totals $10226. What I don't understand is why our identical system has a repayment structure of $63/wk but is over 30 months (130 weeks) and costs $8300. THAT'S A SAVING OF ALMOST $2000 !!!!! for $4 extra a week !!!
