25.01.2022 GOOD NEWS SUNDAY Take heart. People are doing good things.

24.01.2022 What great innovations are you seeing out there in the small business world to reduce waste? How can we learn from others and up the up on waste solutions?

22.01.2022 Who Gives A Crap Constructions Yep, you heard it from the Prof. We are using toilet rolls and wrapping paper for our new MK stretchy thinking activities and trialled it on some teachers, parents and enviro officers at our Green Lab 2030 Professional Learning in January. PS. The adults didn't like the name, but the kids did. As the Prof said, " If a company calls itself Who Gives A Crap https://au.whogivesacrap.org/and we buy their toilet paper, surely kids have every right t...o reuse their waste materials to do some good - and call the activity Who Gives A Crap Constructions! PPS: Why not check out their toilet paper and see how creative you can be with the wrapping paper and rolls? Send your photos to [email protected] or share your ideas with us on Insta using #1000actionsfortheplanet

22.01.2022 Our kids are out and about doing the doing. They care about so many things and Troy Wood is keen to ensure young people are heard. Great work Troy.

20.01.2022 Congratulations team! We have won the Community and Charity Banksia Sustainability award from Banksia Foundation. Great work Team MK. Thanks a million Banksia Foundation.

17.01.2022 Nature journaling is a great way to sit and ponder, listening to the rhythms, smelling the smells, experiencing the textures and colours. Note your mind, focussing on the detail, soft heart, soft hands.

16.01.2022 The good news keeps on coming and we all like good news. Thanks a million our our beautiful Administration Manager, Kristen, who saw an opportunity to use waste and do good. Kristen has started her own little social enterprise The REED Collective and the sale of her products has been generously donated to Millennium Kids to help out our Kids on Country program. Thanks a million Kristen.

10.01.2022 "Get to know your neighbours! Not just the people who live next door, but the trees, the animals, the insects and butterflies", said Richard Louv, author and advocate for children having access to nature. Richard was online this morning talking about his work, the need for green school places, the benefits of having nature based education for children's mental health and well being. If you are interested in outdoor classrooms, biophilic design and nature rich places email [email protected] to find out more about our Green Lab program.

07.01.2022 EVERY DAY HEROES Today we are going to shine a light on MK Mentor and friend Claire from Ocean Remedy. We love to hang out with people who walk the talk and when our Waste Free Movement team met Claire at the Summer x Salt Markets we knew she would be part of our gang. Not only does Claire care about the oceans she is constantly trying to improve her swim products and is prepping to start a return and repair system for her swimwear range. ... Claire also runs the AUSMAP training in Perth so you'll often find her with a sieve and tweezers in hand, picking microplastics from our beaches, to get the best data on where the waste comes from. We like that about Claire - she is a doing the doing sort of person. Check out her story here.

06.01.2022 Someone you love needs a bit of magic today. Send them a Valentine’s Day message to remind them you care. And enjoy some nature while you are at it.

06.01.2022 The kids are onto it.

05.01.2022 We are excited to be sharing @yourmovewa ideas in the @citystirlingwa. Only a short walk to my fave coffee shop!
