18.01.2022 To celebrate Kristy & Justin’s first week as the new owners @myrtlehousewollombi we thought we’d share the history of this beautiful building that they will now... make their own. . In 1841 McDougal took over the property from the Crown, and 5 years later it was sold to G. Elliott. A store and dwelling was established and a news item in 1867 announced that Eliott’s full of flood victims. . In 1874 P. Logan a soap & candle maker became the new owner followed by a string of subsequent owners before Daniel Langan in 1932 built the House as it currently stands with renovations complete. An historical photo of Daniel is displayed in the Myrtle House bookroom, he is buried in the Wollombi cemetery. . A private residence for many years until the 1980’s when food service became the new norm. A handful of proprietors have served various cuisines over the past few decades and cemented the site as a much-loved dining destination in the Lower Hunter. . Open 7 days - A must visit when in Wollombi. . www.myrtlehouse.com.au . . #visitwollombi #huntervalley #breakfast #lunch #afternoontea #wineanddine #amazingcoffee #healthyeats #takeawayfood #delicious #freshjuices #wollombivillage #90minutesfromsydney #welcomeinwollombi See more

09.01.2022 Both are GREAT but there can be a big difference between the two... MADE IN AUSTRALIA when the product underwent its last substantial transformation in A...ustralia, regardless of the origin of its ingredients For example, a packet of biscuits made here from imported ingredients So ‘Made in Australia’ may use imported ingredients or have been partially manufactured overseas, and then imported to Australia for its last transformation. However, if a product is only packed here they can NOT use the Made in Australia statement must be ‘substantially transformed’ here PRODUCT OF AUSTRALIA when virtually all ingredients are from Australia and virtually all of its major processing occurred in Australia For example, a packet of pasta made from scratch here using all Australian ingredients This is the bees knees of product origin It means all of the product's significant ingredients come from Australia; and all, or nearly all of the manufacturing or processing has been carried out in Australia. There are far more components to adhere to (as opposed to Made in Australia) and you can be far more certain about the product’s origins Don't get too overwhelmed with making every single purchase a 100% Australian grown, made and owned product, just aim for a better swap to what you were buying and you're doing great!! Keep it up, kid! #maketheswap #maketheswapaustralia #productorigin #productlabel
