25.01.2022 Congratulations to all involved. How amazing to be acknowledged by our local council. Once again as an RFB we are privileged to have such a vigilant and supportive community.

25.01.2022 Call out yesterday 25/11 with a crew of 6.

25.01.2022 FACT: There will never be as many fire trucks as there are houses. Do not depend on a fire truck being available at your home. But if you and your home are well... prepared, you stand a better chance of surviving a bush fire. There are simple things you can do around your home to prepare it for a bush fire, like keeping the grass low and having a cleared area around your home. Learn more and get ready at www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/plan-and-prepare #getreadyweekend #nswrfs

23.01.2022 We hope you have all enjoyed the cooler weather and the joy of rain these last few days. Just a reminder even though there has been rain you will still require a permit to burn. Summer is upon us and with all this grass growth will still pose as a fire risk. Action your get ready plans and be vigilant.

22.01.2022 Our thoughts are with Bulga brigade and their members involved in this horrible accident we wish you all a speedy recovery.

22.01.2022 Friendly reminder guys, bushfire season is upon us. Please contact the number on our page or the link below if you need a fire permit during this time. Also remember NO open flame fires or hot coals during a total fire ban day. Help us help you stay safe.

19.01.2022 For those reminiscing the days we could all get together as a community and have a great time I thought I'd share some photos from our fundraiser at Paxton Bowling club back in February. Heres hoping there's a light at the end of the tunnel and we can see you all again next year.

12.01.2022 The 31st of March marks the end of the 2021 bushfire season, we would like to thank those who obtained fire permits and notified us as a brigade to local burning, though permits are no longer required we still need to be notified of significant burns in our local area. This can be done by the phone number on our Facebook page.

12.01.2022 Today marks the start of the 2020/21 Bush Fire Danger Period and with Fire and Rescue NSW we're launching our new public awareness campaign in which survivors of last summer’s horrific NSW bush fires share their experiences #NSWRFS http://ow.ly/BcQi50BG3VZ

12.01.2022 We’re getting an additional firefighting helicopter in time for duty this fire season thanks to a partnership with the Goodman Foundation. It’ll be equipped wit...h winch, water tank and surveillance camera for use in firefighting operations, search and rescue, and down the wire insertions and extractions. See more

12.01.2022 A number of hazard reduction burns are programmed for this weekend. This includes burns in the Sydney, Central Coast and Hunter areas. Smoke is likely to settle over a broad area. Check for burns near you. https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/fire-informati/hazard-reductions

12.01.2022 For all those with questions or concerns about fire permits the brigade needs to email permits to Fire Control Monday to Friday during business hours. If you need a permit please remember that a minimum of 24 hours notice is required. You need to notify all your neighbors at least 24 hours beforehand. There have been changes to the areas where we can issue permits but we will point you in the right direction. Due to public holidays if you need a permit please do not leave it ...too late to ask. Wishing everyone a Happy and Safe Christmas.

11.01.2022 So if we can get through your front gate, can we get down your track and gain access around your home and to your tank? Normal tap fittings are not much good to... RFS trucks and we usually have to access tanks through the top. Make sure there is good access to water sources and you have checked the hoses, nozzles and pumps you are planning to use this fire season. Having a plan you have not practised is not a good plan. 11.01.2022 Stay safe our fellow RFS fire fighters heading to the US to help with the wildfires. Its absolutely amazing to see countries come together during crisis.

04.01.2022 R U OK? This is something to not just do once a year but in these trying times, check on your family and friends and have a conversation and check in. On behalf of Millfield brigade would like all of you to know as a community that we are here for you and us as a brigade are here for one another.

04.01.2022 High fire danger tomorrow please be vigilant. You will require a fire permit as of today contact Des on the phone number provided on our page.

04.01.2022 A year ago today, our hearts were broken with the loss of two of our volunteers - Deputy Captain Geoffrey Keaton and firefighter Andrew O’Dwyer. The two young d...ads from the Horsley Park Rural Fire Brigade were tragically killed when a tree hit the fire truck they were in at Buxton, south-west of Sydney. Today, many of our members will take a moment for quiet reflection, to give thanks and remember. Sadly, Geoff and Andrew were two of four NSW RFS members who lost their lives last season and we will mark the anniversary of the loss of Sam McPaul and Colin Burns in the days ahead. And we will also remember the lives of the three American aircrew who died when a Large Air Tanker crashed in January. While we reflect on the terrible loss, including for members of the community, we are also grateful for the support, friendship and camaraderie shown over the last year, in such a difficult time for so many people. Days like this are tough and support is available. Lifeline 13 11 14 Beyond Blue 1300 22 4636 For NSW RFS members, you can contact the Critical Incident Support Services Team or the Member Assistance Program for free support.

03.01.2022 The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast heat wave conditions to affect much of NSW until at least next Tuesday. This will increase the fire risk across much of state with Very High and Severe fire danger likely on the weekend. Plan and prepare now.

03.01.2022 Just a reminder, fire season has started you will require a fire permit for any type of burn off. You can do this online at https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au//fire-permits/burn-notifications. Or contact Des on the phone number provided on our page.

02.01.2022 Very high fire danger today 23/11. If you're in doubt about a pile burn, or burning in general today don't hesitate to contact us. Always notify us if you're planning to burn and remember permits are mandatory and can be organised by our captain via the phone number on our page.

02.01.2022 Just a reminder, cold gusty weather is on its way. Stay vigilant rug up and stay warm and always remember your local fire brigades are here for you.

01.01.2022 Everyone in Paxton and surrounding areas this storm cell is likely to produce some heavy rain and large hail stones. Try to move cars and valuables under cover. Also strong winds advised please take care of one another and make sure loose items are secured. Dial 000 if assistance is needed.
