25.01.2022 Thankyou to the judges at Aspire Gallery in Paddington for awarding me a local business prize for my pastel works, the award was kindly donated by Stop13 at 31, There were over 300 wonderful entries so Im quite overwhelmed that they thought my work was worthy, thanks again to all involved, it makes art making so worthwhile.

24.01.2022 Just a small painting on a hot and sunny day. https://www.etsy.com//778/sunny-day-small-painting-pastel

24.01.2022 "Beyond the Shadows" 61cm x 46cm 24in x 18in Soft Pastel... A spot on Coochiemudlo Island which has a path that leads to the ocean I never get tired of depicting light, hope you like it. Sorry about the quality of the photo, doesnt always reveal the true colours. Thankyou to Pamela Spires for permission to use her reference photo x

23.01.2022 Where is Everyone? Oil on Canvas 100cm x 100cm These large canvases are a challenge thats for sure. I had a lot of moored boats in this painting but they didnt look right, they just didnt want to be painted, after four or five attempts here it is....just the one, a subconscious response to isolation . After some thought I had an epiphany of sorts, I placed an outline of a dove with a small twig in its mouth, the symbol of the Christian spirit of hope and trust. The dov...e symbol is hard to see, just as its hard to see and end to the pandemic but it is there, hope in our scientists that they will find a vaccination that will help the world is our hope. Thankyou to #Jodzpixx for the great photo and getting up early to take the picture lol xx

20.01.2022 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzuP6KmnV_Y&feature=youtu.be For those that wonder how pastels are mailed to a collector, this is how I do it. Framed work is far too expensive to post, this is a hassle free way to deliver my artwork.

20.01.2022 So looking forward to teaching pastels again, if youre interested please get in touch with Danielle at Yurara, Ph 3206 6185 or Mob 0417 239 911, [email protected] Look forward to seeing you. Sat 18 - Sun 19 July 2020 9.30am (for a 10 oclock start) - 3.30pm... Redland Yurara Art Studio & Gallery, Pinklands Reserve, Cleveland-Redland Bay Rd, Thornlands 4164 See more

19.01.2022 One of my favourite gum-trees on Coochiemudlo Island, painted plein air last year. Share if you like xx

19.01.2022 Life Goes on 100cm x 100cm Oil on Canvas A beautiful explosion of blossoms with promises of freash, juicy, scrumptious fruit, perhaps a metaphor for all the good that's coming our way, don't despair, all will be well.... 17.01.2022 The Bend 67cm x 47cm Pastel A larger version of a previous sketch. Ill repeat the description here as previously explained on the sketch.... I come from #Deniliquin in NSW and we have a magical river, the #EdwardRiver which was really our playground. Swimming, fishing, skiing championships, boat club, it was such a popular place, this particular spot is called "The Bend." I remember it as The Brewery Bend as well as we actually had a brewery up on the hill close to the river. Weekends there was the kiosk operator selling ice cream and packets of chips, lollies. you name it. Music rang out from the speakers attached to the kiosk, children standing on hot sand, if they forgot to wear their thongs you could hear them yelling out to mum or dad to come pick them up, we teens used to rush to the little ones and pick them up if mum or dad couldnt hear them we also saved kids if they got into trouble in the water, it wasnt thought of as brave, we just looked out for each other. We had races across the river (a wide river) and the girls loved watching the boys jump off the cliff on the other side of the water. You could hardly move on the densely populated white sand which covered the ground adjoining the water. This was the heyday of those wonderful childhood days. Thankyou to Dawn Hall for the photo, lovely pic Dawn thankyou. #australianlandscape #Aussierivers #fishing #swimming #skiing

17.01.2022 Very happy to be a part of these exhibitions, thanks to Aspire Gallery for the opportunity.

16.01.2022 Our Petite Pieces Competition has officially wrapped up! Over the coming days, well be sharing a few more of our prize winners (al...ong with the highly anticipated Voters Choice) as we also count down the days to our next Competition A Florists Delight. In the meantime, we thought wed share a few little extra snaps of Petite Pieces for those who missed it and a small update on Aspire Gallerys position during these uncertain times. At this stage, Aspire Gallery anticipates to still be open as normal for our upcoming exhibition A Florists Delight open every Friday and Saturday until the 4 April - until further notice. We will be monitoring the situation as it progresses, however, and will announce any updates accordingly. That being said, over the past week, we have been implementing a number of precautionary measures for all our staff / artists / clients including regular wipe downs of all surfaces as people visit and limiting the use of air-conditioning. The Aspire team itself has a family member that falls into the high-risk category and we know that there are a number of you in the same boat. Subsequently, as a small request we ask that all visitors with flu-like symptoms refrain from visiting at this time. We are more than happy to accommodate you digitally, to the best of our ability! We will not be hosting an Awards Night for our Florists Delight Competition and the Winner will instead be announced online. Some may know that our events can get very busy, and we do want to mitigate as many risks as possible for attendees. We understand that exhibiting artists may be disappointed, but rest easy as many of our enquiries and sales occur outside these nights. In February, we launched the new online shopping component of our website! Throughout Petite Pieces we saw some fantastic success with this launch, and hope this can be utilised by any clients concerned about their health or needing to self-isolate. We encourage those finalists in A Florists Delight to promote the their work as much as possible once the Online Catalogue goes live this week. We are also more than happy for Petite Pieces Finalists to continue to promote their work and Online Catalogue, as sales have continued following the end of the exhibition on Saturday. We just ask that you please keep us informed should a piece sell or need to be updated (and we will do the same). We have such fantastic online activity thanks to our art lovers and artists alike, so we highly encourage you to remain active so that we bounce off each other during this time. Over the next week, well also be updating our website with more great things to explore and will be staying active every day so that even those at home can have a little dose of whats happening at Aspire! -- We will be limiting Face-To-Face Meetings as much as possible with any managed artists, leasing exhibitors or clients. We are, however, happy to accommodate these meetings over the phone, email or via skype. Just send a email to [email protected] and we will be in touch with you as soon as possible to arrange a meeting time. Should you wish to have purchased or unsold work posted to you rather than collected at the Gallery, please send a quick email over to [email protected] so that we can be in touch to organise. All interstate finalists from Petite Pieces will be contacted this week to organise the return postage of their work. We have slowly been implementing contingency plans should their be any impact to our operating hours over the next month. Those who may be impacted will be emailed in the coming days. If you should have any queries or questions, please dont hesitate to contact us. Otherwise, we would like to thank you for your understanding and are sending our best wishes to everyone. The Aspire Gallery Team :)
