21.01.2022 BUFF CREEK: There will no longer be a fee to use the secure carpark at Buffalo Creek boat ramp.. From 1 December 2019, people wishing to leave their vehicle and... trailer in the secure compound can call an information phone line for an access code to the lock on the gates. Signs advising of the coming change have been put in place at the compound today. Under the present system, access is provided by a caretaker and users pay a fee to park in the secure compound. In general peak use times around 30 vehicles with boat trailers use the free parking facility to capacity, and only five to seven vehicles use the secure compound. The change to access arrangements brings the Buffalo Creek boat ramp more in line with other Darwin and Palmerston boat ramps. There is CCTV and lighting at the compound to protect vehicles. And those who wish to use the compound just make a phone call and will receive an access code. The change follows extensive consultation with boat ramp users and the Amateur Fishermen’s Association of the NT. See more

13.01.2022 Reports confirm NO ACCESS TO SHADY CAMP including the Ramp. Stay home if thinking about traveling to Shady Camp. People have been asked by the NTG to limit non...-essential regional travel. We did our best to keep you updated last night but never received the clarification we sought on this. It is a tough time for all so please have some patience and understanding that our authorities and staff are doing their best. Now is the time to put the safety of the community, our police and healthcare workers first.

02.01.2022 Northern Territory Parks and Wildlife have announced the closure of many NT campgrounds and day use areas as part of responses to protect the community from COV...ID19. We have been in contact with Parks, noting that there is less awareness that some National Parks are ENTIRELY CLOSED to protect nearby remote communities from 5pm Thursday March 26 (Today). This includes Limmen National Park, incorporating the Munbililla (Tomato Island) campground and boat ramp, near the Aboriginal Community of Ngukurr We remind fishers that to prevent the spread of COVID19 the Prime Minister has asked everyone to limit travel and contact with others, and that people must maintain social distancing, as well as avoiding non-essential gatherings.
